Take this day to resolve to keep the peace wherever you go. Even if for one day the world stopped being violent, what a difference that would make. Prost! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012.

High Hops Brewery (Windsor) - While they may have started serving beers a couple weeks ago, they hadn't scheduled a grand opening celebration until now. On October 19th from 4pm to 9pm the Grand Opening of High Hops Brewery is finally set! They will have food from Theodore Devito, music from Maxwell Hughes and much more. This is just Day One of their planned celebration with more to come. So rain or shine, they will have a indoor patio as well as an outdoor patio available. Their list of beers on tap should be finalized soon. High Hops Brewery is located at: 6461 Hwy 392 in Windsor, CO.

New Belgium Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Their "Enjoy the Ride" campaign ended on Labor Day after a summer full of bike love and storytelling. Since Memorial Day, New Belgium gave away 2,500 Fat Tire cruiser bikes and helped to grow their social media followers by over 60,000 on Facebook and Twitter combined. This was all part of their 20th anniversary celebration. By the way, if you're looking to win a bike next year, the new color for 2013 is BLACK! In other news, New Belgium recently installed a brand new pilot system at the brewery. Look for some tasty test brews on the horizon.

Wynkoop Brewing (Denver) - Next Tuesday, October 9th from 5pm to 8pm come for the Beers Made By Walking event. Enjoy tasting 10 beers inspired by plants commonly found on hikes around Colorado. Beers from Crooked Stave, Lone Tree Brewing, New Belgium, Oskar Blues, Phantom Canyon, Pikes Peak Brewing, Ska Brewing, Strange Brewing, Trinity Brewing and Wynkoop will be available for tasting. The cost is $15 for 10 tickets and can be purchased at the door. Wynkoop is located at 1534 18th Street in Denver. Consider it a warm up for the GABF later that week! Sponsored by FocusOnTheBeer.com and BeersMadeByWalking.com. In other news, Wynkoop also announced that they will be releasing Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout. What started out as an April Fools joke earlier this year is turning into reality. Each barrel of this beer has 3 full sized bull testicles sliced and brewed into it. Should be available for GABF week.

Trinity Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - Trinity was the only Colorado brewpub to be selected for the new Brew Pub Pavilion located floor center at the GABF. Look for them at the Pub22 location there where they will be pouring all Saisons. Meanwhile, on Wed. October 10th starting at 12pm, they will be hosting a "Funk, Farmhouse, and Firkin Tapping" at the brewery, showcasing 11 special beers from single kegs. On Oct. 12th they will also be sharing 2012 vintages of The Flavor and Le Capitaine at noon and selling bottles for you cellar collectors. Then on Oct. 19th they start releasing their winter warmers with 2012 Merle Saison Nocturnum at 5pm. And on Oct. 26th they release Chilly Water Baltic Porter. Lots more to come!

Crazy Mountain (Edwards) - Since expanding distribution of their canned beers state-wide back in July, Crazy Mountain is expanding distribution even more - to 9 more states! In a Press Release issued today, Crazy Mountain beers will soon be available in Colorado, California, Florida, Texas, Minnesota, Ohio, northern Kentucky, New Hampshire, southern Oregon and eastern Massachusetts.

Paradox Beer Company (Woodland Park) - If you're in Colorado Springs this Thursday, October 4th at 6:30pm, stop by Powers Liquor Mart for a free Paradox Beer Tasting in the Powers tasting room. Get to know this new Colorado brewery's beers. Powers Liquor Mart is located at: 5847 Palmer Park Blvd in Colorado Springs, CO.

Two Rascals Brewing Co (Montrose) - Since opening for business on September 20th with 3 beers (Scottish, Wheat and IPA), they officially announced that they are now serving their new Amber and Stout now. They will also be serving their beer at the Montrose Octoberfest celebration this week on Saturday too. Stop on by!

New Beer Label Approvals - The feds recently approved new beer names/labels for the following Colorado breweries:
- New Belgium - Ooh La Leopold Ale.
- New Belgium - Barrel of Funky Friends Ale.
- New Belgium - Love Apple Whiskey Barrel-aged Ale.
- Backcountry Brewery - Backcountry Wheat Ale.

Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - Breck will be all over Denver during the GABF. They are hosting their 3rd annual Rare Beer Tour at 10 restaurants from October 9-20. The Ale House at Amato's hosts their Mini Beer Fest on October 11th on their rooftop patio. Also on Oct. 11th is the Brews Cruise Rendezbrew - a tasting event featuring beers from CO, GA, OR, SC and NC. Then on Friday, October 12th it's the Beer For Brains' A Colorado Affair at the Ghost Plate and Tap - sample 20 rare CO beers. Get more info at www.breckbrew.com.

Bristol Brewing (Colorado Springs) - It's back! Bristol Brewing is announcing a release party for the annual return of their Winter Warlock Oatmeal Stout. The party will be at the brewery on Thursday, October 18th from 5pm to 9pm. Blue Sage Catering will be on hand with delicious food pairings.

Twisted Pine Brewing Co (Boulder) - Can't get enough GABF events? Twisted Pine just released an entire Press Release full of them. Starting out on October 8th and running through the 14th. From the re-release of Ghost Face Killah, to Twisted Trivia, to an expansion party, a give-away day, a Big Beer Bash from their cellar offerings, small bites with Ginger Johnson, to a $2 pint day. They've got something for just about every craft beer enthusiast. Dates and details in the Press Release.

Fort Collins Brewery Halloween PartyThe Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - The brewery will be featuring every single beer they have entered into the GABF individually on a special day at the brewery. Monday Oct. 8th - $2 pints of Wheat Wine, Tuesday Oct 9th - $1 off Bambostic pints, Wednesday, Oct. 10th - Obsessed Barley Wine, buy a pint keep the glass, Thursday Oct. 11th - 1900 Amber get 10% off 1900 merchandise, Friday Oct. 12th DCCS get 1/2 pint of DCCS and a slice of DCCS cheesecake for $6. And Saturday Oct. 13th - Training Wheels ESB pints are $2 off. And don't forget about the FCB Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 31st from 4-9pm. Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (Denver) - GABF week means extended hours at their taproom and a new barrel-aged sour beer tapping each day at noon. They'll open at 10am and stay open til the beer is gone. Oct. 8th - Cuvaison, W.W.B.I., Surette Reserva, Sentience Bourbon Barrel aged Wild Quadruple, Batch #1. Oct. 9th - Surette Reserva Chardonnay Barrel-aged. Oct. 10th Oculus Belgian-style Golden Ale. Oct. 11th - Sentience Cognac Barrel-aged Wild Quadruple, Oct 12th - Nightmare on Brett Bourbon Barrel-aged Brett Baltic Porter, and Oct. 13th - Blackberry Petite Sour (classic!).

Oktoberfest in Colorado (Annual List) - The harvests are coming in, the weather is starting to cool, and towns and communities in Colorado are celebrating Oktoberfest! The 2012 Colorado Oktoberfest page has compiled a list of over 30+ communities in the Centennial state that have Oktoberfest or Harvest festivals planned. Festivals run through early October.
