Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day. It's also the day after the Election Day. Celebrate a win or drown your sorrows with some chocolate and almonds - a nice dark porter or stout would go nice with that. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, November 7th, 2012.

Crabtree Brewing Co (Greeley) - The construction equipment started moving in today and work on their new brewhouse got started at their 29th Street location. The plan is to move the rest of their brewing operations to the new location by the end of the year. That's going to be a lot of work. Luckily, they've been brewing up a storm in anticipation of this coming move.

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Today Left Hand will be pouring their LAST keg of 4 Foodies Pumpkin Ale and their cask conditioned wet hopped Warrior IPA! And, with any purchase you make today, you will receive one of their limited edition Warrior stickers! #stickerWednesdays

Elevation Beer Co (Poncha Springs) - Elevation Beer Company is kicking off winter and their upcoming beer releases with a custom Ski Giveaway at select restaurants and liquor stores in Colorado. The skis are Fortitude’s Propellers, a top of the line All Mountain ski, made with custom Elevation graphics. The skis will be given away at a series of tasting and beer events across Chaffee, Summit, and Boulder counties this winter at some of the best Apr├Ęs-ski locations in the state, including Monarch Mountain’s Sidewinder Saloon and Breckenridge’s Northside Pizza. The Ski Giveaway is celebrating Elevation’s launch of two new beers this December, Oil Man a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, and an unannounced top secret release in their Black Series. Elevation is also releasing their First Cast IPA and Little Mo’ Porter in 16oz bottles across the High Country giving fans of Elevation’s Blue Series a chance to enjoy them at home. A total of 8 pairs of Elevation/Fortitude Skis will be raffled off across the state, and the raffle events will also include gear from Native Eyewear (Denver, Colorado) as well as other great Elevation giveaways.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is pleased to partner with American Military Family, Inc. in honoring America’s Veterans and Current Military on Veterans Day, November 11, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the tap room at 623 N. Denver Ave., Loveland, Colorado. Grimm Brothers will be releasing a special small batch Cherry Snow Drop Kottbusser Ale in honor of those who served. All proceeds from the sale of this beer will be donated to American Military Family, Inc. (AMF)( In addition, Veterans and Current Military may purchase pints of all Grimm Brothers beers at half-price during the event. The public is invited to attend. “We feel privileged to honor and support all veterans and members of the US military and their families. American Military Family does a tremendous job and with the help of our loyal customers, we will be able to make a substantial contribution to their efforts.”, said Don Chapman, President of Grimm Brothers. Gore Range Brewery (Edwards) - It's time to celebrate! No, not the election, rather $2 drafts all day in celebration of their 1-year anniversary of their new GRB brews. Be sure to stop by today for a taste.

Prost Brewing (Denver) - Prost will be tapping one keg of their Keller Bier, an unfiltered bier straight from their lager tank today. Better come try this while it lasts.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - Looking for something a little different? Their featured keg for the week is their Mistral infused with raspberry puree and vanilla beans. Yum!

Odell Brewing (Fort Collins) - Their special brew "Haven and Hale Peach Ale" is now back on tap at the taproom. Stop in for a glass and listen to live music from the Honey Gitters from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Ska Brewing Co (Durango) - It's the end of the world as we know it on December 21st, 2012 and that's the day they plan on releasing the second in their seasonal stout releases. Look for their Hibernal Vinifera Stout, a barrel-aged beer brewed with grape juice, to debut on December 21st. And yes, it will be in 12oz cans!

Wynkoop Brewing (Denver) - On December 1, 1-4 PM, Wynkoop Brewing Company presents our annual Parade of Darks, our holiday fundraiser and showcase of seasonal and year-round beers in the amber-to-opaque color categories. The event features a gift list of perfect-for-cool-weather beers -- from holiday seasonals, barley wines, sours and Belgians to porters, stouts and more -- for sampling. There will also be of selection of cheeses and chocolates to accompany the beers. Advance tickets are $35 and can be purchased at . Advance ticket sales end on November 30 at 5 PM MST. Tickets are $42 the day of the event at the door, provided the event is not sold out already.
