Colorado Beer News 110812

International Stout DayToday is International Stout Day. Today you are encouraged to find a brand new stout to try and share the news of it with your friends. If you can't find a new one, just settle back with an old favorite stout. Either way, the dark side of beer can be oh so good! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, November 8th, 2012.

The Very Nice Brewing Co (Nederland) - Due the overwhelming support they have received, they are upgrading right away. Two more fermenters and a brew system capable of producing beer 3X as fast. VNBC will be lean this weekend. The yeast in Monk's Phunk needs a few more days to party and so it won't be on tap. They still have at least a keg of the IPA, Heffe, and Logical Fallacy.

Renegade Brewing (Denver) - Heads up drinkers! Renegade will be closed this coming Tuesday, November 13th. To get your fix on that day, find their Ryeteous Rye in 4-packs at your nearest liquor store.

Odell Brewing Co (Fort Collins) - Just for Stout Day, Odell has their Big Fat Chocolate Stout and also La Calavera Pumpkin Chili Stout pouring at their tap room. Don't forget - their hosting a release party for this year's Friek on November 10th from 4-6pm. Be there to get a first taste of this year's batch!

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - Just in time for stout day, they've got 3 different stouts on tap today including: Night Watchman, Chai Wallah Watchman, and their Up All Night Watchman. Embrace the dark tonight!

Ska Brewing Co (Durango) - Here's a suggestion for Stout Day, check out their Steel Toe Milk Stout - it took 5 medals home this year alone from several international beer competitions including: World Beer Cup, Australia, and Stockholm. Also, check out their Autumnal Mole Stout for a bit spicier brew.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Just a reminder, the Chili Competition is set for this Saturday, November 10th. Competitors should get there between 1pm and 1:30pm to set up. Entry fee is $15. Last minute name changes are allowed until 1:30pm. There is a prize for the Best Name so be creative. Cooks get a free growler fill. The crowd will vote for best chili as this is a People's Choice competition. Then stop back in Sunday for their Veterans Day release of a small batch Cherry Snow Drop Kottbusser Ale.

Kannah Creek Brewing (Grand Junction) - Their staff will be helping you partake in Stout Day with their nitro infused Black Bridge Stout. Stop in for a taste today!
