Colorado Beer NewsToday is the last day of Pursuit of Happiness Week. If you haven't been able to find true happiness yet, this is your last day! Well, not really the last day, but it's best to get out there and keep looking at any rate. Perhaps you might find happiness with a glass of craft beer after work today. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, November 13th, 2012.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Have you ever wanted to have Grimm Brothers brew at home on draft? Now you can! Grimm Brothers is now offering the PUBKEG, a five gallon returnable Sanke tap keg - perfect for your party or kegerator. These run $75 plus a refundable $20 deposit. The PUBKEG is just under 24" tall by 11" wide. Ask about specific beer availability. They currently have Little Red Cap available. Also - now on Mondays through Thursday from 1pm to 3pm only, get $2.00 off all growler fills!

Grand Lake Brewing Co (Grand Lake) - Quick reminder, the Grand Lake Brewing Taphouse will be closed today, Tuesday, November 13th for kitchen maintenance. They will re-open again on Wednesday the 14th and will then remain open every day for lunch and dinner (and beer!).

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - ABC is once again doing a drive for the Arvada Community Food Bank. They have a collection can inside the front door. Bring in 2 non perishable food items and get a ticket for a drawing for a Beer For A Year Certificate. If they can get 5 tons of food collected by 12/27 they will give away 5, yes 5, Beer For a year Certs!. They also need all of your old grocery store bags, so bring in those as well. What a great way to recycle those plastic bags! Bring in cans, bring in boxes, bring in cash, now through 12/27. Drawing will be held Thursday 12/27 at 7 pm.

Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs) - On Friday, November 16th from 5pm to 10pm, cme to Elevation Beer Company's ski season kick off party sponsored by Monarch Mountain, Fortitude Skis, and Native Eyewear. This event will feature live music from Bruce Hayes, and Denver's Trout Steak Revival, giveaways including Native Eyewear, a Monarch Mountain Season Pass, and the Grand Prize: a custom pair of Elevation Propeller All Mountain ski's from Fortitude (www.fortitudeskis.com). Cost is $10 dollars at the door, includes 2 beer tickets and a raffle ticket for the giveaway items. Food available from Salida's new Cosmo's Food Cart. Kick off the ski season in style, Music starts at 5:00pm.

Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew (Denver) - Starting this week, the brewery tap room will be open for regular hours from now on! Open Thurs 4-10pm, Fri 4pm-12am, Sat 2pm-12am, Sun 2pm-10pm. They are located at: 2810 Larimer Street in Denver, CO. The Baba's Falafel truck will be parked outside Thursday night too.

Great Storm Christmas PartyGreat Storm Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Tis the season for Christmas parties, well at least getting the word out anyway. On Wednesday, December 12th, head down to the Springs for Great Storm Brewing's Christmas Party. The fun starts at 11am and runs til close. Several special holiday tappings a Wassail ale, a Coffee Stout, an English Old ale (soured), a Belgian amber, and a barley wine. Limit one pour of each beer per visit. Live holiday music from Amy Sue Hardy from 6-8pm. Get in the spirits!

BREW Pub & Kitchen (Durango) - Look out Durango - you're about to get another brewpub in town. The Durango Herald is reporting this week that Erik Maxson, former brewer at Carver Brewing, will open his own brewpub at 117 W. College Drive in a building that currently also houses the 6th Street Hair Salon & Day Spa, Durango Smoke Shop and a RE/MAX. The front of the pub will showcase a garage door that opens to the sidewalk giving a great view of Smelter Mountain. Look for this brewpub to open sometime in mid-December 2012. Golden City Brewery (Golden) - Can't get enough pumpkin beer? If you stop down at Golden City Brewery you'll find that they still have some wood-fired pumpkin ale on tap today. Long live fall seasonal brews!

Trinity Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - Soon bottles of select brews from Trinity Brewing will be hitting store shelves in the Denver area. Previously, you had to journey down to the Springs to find this beer. Trinity is also considering working with some Colorado distributors, but would need to expand in order to be able to fill the demand for their brews. Until expansion happens, they will be self distributing beers themselves for the time being. Read more on this at Westword.

Yak & Yeti (Arvada) - On Black Friday, November 23rd, Yak & Yeti is welcoming back the return of their Sherpa Porter. This brew was a huge favorite last winter. This year's batch is a bit bigger weighing in at 5.2% ABV and 34 IBUs. There will be a release party from 4pm to 10pm on the 23rd. Also, just in time for Thanksgiving, they'll be tapping their Pumpkin & Spice beer on Wednesday, November 21st at 4pm. This beer was also popular last year. Come try one or both starting next week.
