Colorado Beer NewsToday is International Day for Tolerance. It's a day the United Nations recognizes to advance human welfare, freedom and progress everywhere, as well as to encourage tolerance, respect, dialogue and cooperation among different cultures and peoples. Sharing a craft beer with someone can help tolerate things better too! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, November 16th, 2012.

Great Divide Brewing Co (Denver) - Starting in 2013, Great Divide will change over two of their beers from seasonals to full-time year-round beers. Nomad, a pilsner, and Colette, a farmhouse ale will become one of the standard brews for Great Divide. However, when some things come in, others tend to leave. Say goodbye to Samurai and Wild Raspberry, at least for the time being. They make make another appearance somewhere down the road, but for now, they will no longer be produced.

Crystal Springs Brewing (Boulder) - The first 16oz 4-packs of their South Ridge Amber came off the canning line today. Look for those to hit store shelves in the Boulder area very soon!

2012 European Beer Star (Competition) - According to a post by, 5 Colorado breweries recently earned medals in 7 different categories in the 2012 European Beer Star competition. Grats to Oskar Blues, Ska Brewing, Twisted Pine, Left Hand Brewing and Odell Brewing for earning the gold, silver or bronze in their respective categories. For the full report read the blog post.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Award winning brewery Grimm Brothers Brewhouse beers can now be found down at Applejack Wine & Spirits down in Wheat Ridge. This is the furthest south of Loveland that their beers are available. Denverites who haven't yet had the chance to try a Grimm Bros brew now don't have to travel quite so far to do so. Stock up!

High Hops Brew Shop & Brewery (Windsor) - Hey homebrewers! Looking for some great hops to put into your next homebrew batch? High Hops in Windsor, CO just got in an order of proprietary hops including some: Amarillo, Simcoe and Citra hops. Stock up quick since these hops tend to disappear pretty quick! While you're there, walk down the aisle and grab a brew on draft at the High Hops brewery taproom.

Billy's Chilies ContestTwisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - Many of you are big Billy's Chilies beer fans. Now you have the opportunity to participate in the 1st official Billy's Chilies Recipe Contest. If you can make a great recipe with Billy's Chilies beer in it you could win some incredible schwag and have serious bragging rights. Check out the poster (here) for details. Contest starts December 15th and runs through December 31st, 2012.

Carver Brewing Company (Durango) - Food lovers! Carver Brewing just rolled out all new winter menus for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Dessert. Stop in and bring your appetite. Wash it down with their great craft beer on tap. Come see what new delights await you!

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - City Star will be hosting a fundraiser for Christmas in Berthoud on Saturday, December 1st, donating $1 for every beer sold all day to the cause. Christmas in Berthoud is a community-wide effort to bring holiday joy to those in need in our community by donating our time, talents and financial resources in The Town of Berthoud, CO. Donations also accepted. Drink one for a good cause!

Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs) - Come to Elevation Beer Company's ski season kick off party sponsored by Monarch Mountain, Fortitude Skis, and Native Eyewear. This event will feature live music from Bruce Hayes, and Denver's Trout Steak Revival, giveaways including Native Eyewear, a Monarch Mountain Season Pass, and the Grand Prize: a custom pair of Elevation Propeller All Mountain ski's from Fortitude ( Music starts at 5:00pm. On tap tonight: 8 Second Kolsch, First Cast IPA, Fresh Hop, Little Mo' Porter, Nitro Imperial Stout, Prostator Smoked Dopplebock, Downpour Imperial Red Ale, and Apis IV Quadrupel. $10 dollars at the door, includes 2 beer tickets and a raffle ticket for the giveaway items.
