Colorado Beer NewsThe holiday season is upon us. It's a time for buying and giving gifts and spreading good cheer wherever you go. Spread a little good cheer of your own this month and share some good times with friends over a good craft beer. We can also celebrate the Denver Broncos winning the AFC West Division for the 2nd straight year! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, December 3rd, 2012.

Metro Denver / Boulder

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - December marks the beginning of Christmas songs, unpredictable weather, and ugly sweaters. Wear your ugliest sweater today (if you dare) for 10% off your order in their ale house!

Bacon & Beer Festival (Denver) - Tickets are now SOLD OUT for the upcoming Bacon & Beer Festival at Mile High Station from 2:30pm to 5:00pm at Mile High Station in Denver, CO. Look for coverage of this event here on Fermentedly Challenged and on Facebook late Sunday or early next week. It'll be a bacon filled extravaganza to remember.

Lone Tree Brewing (Lone Tree) - The brewery just took delivery and installed two big 20 barrel fermenters into their brewhouse as the first stage of their brewery expansion. These new stainless steel monsters stand nearly 12' tall and will greatly increase production capacity at the brewery by 81%. During the second stage in 6 weeks, they will add 2 more 20 bbl fermenters and start bottling their beer!

Argonaut Wine & Liquor (Denver) - Today is Argonaut's 4th Birthday! To celebrate - TODAY ONLY - they are offering birthday specials: 20% off all wine, 15% all liquor, and $2 off a 12 pack of beer (might be able to combine 2 6-packs). Northern Colorado

Black Bottle Brewery (Fort Collins) - Did you attend their grand opening this last weekend? If not, you owe it to yourself to stop by Fort Collins' newest brewery. They've got 4 of their own beers on tap, more on the way, and 36 guest beers on tap. They also offer wine and a full bar selection and also some of the best brewpub food around. Black Bottle Brewery is located at the SW corner of Prospect and College Avenue near the Chucky Cheese. They are open 7 days a week 11am to late. Oskar Blues (Longmont) - Hey Ladies! The O.B. Can Can Girls December meeting is hosting a Sweets for the HOPidays event. On Thursday, December 13th from 6pm to 8pm at the Tasty Weasel. They will be featuring some very special dessert Oskar Blues brews and pairing beer cupcakes from Daily Cakes. This month's event is a week early to accommodate everyone traveling for the holidays. Tickets are $12 and available through Eventbrite.

Echo Brewing Company (Frederick) - Echo Brewing is expanding! They are awaiting delivery of two new 15 barrel fermenters that should arrive next week. Once installed, their brewing capacity will essentially double. This will mean more Echo beer and also in more places around Colorado.

Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - The world is ending, or so they say. Just in case it is, Loveland Aleworks is throwing an "End of Days" party on Friday, December 21st at 6:00pm to 11:00pm. There will be 12 beers on tap including some cask beer. Live music at 6:00pm and the Chaulkboard Gourmet Food Cart will also be on site at 5:00pm. City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - Do you love to homebrew? Or thinking about starting? Come to a special homebrew meeting at City Star on Tuesday, December 4th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. If you homebrew, please bring some of your homebrew to share. Several Christmas ales are known to be coming. Sit, talk and chat with other homebrewers and see what they've been brewing.

Mountains and West

Kannah Creek Brewing (Grand Junction) - Today is a firkin Monday fundraiser! All proceeds from their firkin keg plus any cash donations will be used to buy angels from the Salvation Army Christmas Angel Program. You get to drink a firkin beer and help brighten local children's Christmas doesn't get any better than that! Be there at 5PM.

Bars, Restaurants and Misc.

Parry's Pizza (Highlands Ranch) - There's a new lunch special at their Highlands Ranch location for those who love a beer with your lunch. Now Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm you can get an 8" personal cheese pizza and a pint of select Colorado beer for just $7. Choose form a list of 5 Colorado beers including Avery IPA, Lone Tree Mt. Mama Helles, Upslope Craft Lager, Pike Peaks Devil's Head Red, or Boulder Beer Hazed and Infused. Or get some with a soft drink instead for just $6. Either way, it'll be ready within 5 minutes of ordering!

The Forge Publick House (Fort Collins) - This Thursday, December 6th, the beers of High Hops Brewery in Windsor will be featured on tap at The Forge as part of their returning Brewery Nights series. Come get a taste of what Windsor's new brewery is all about. Brewer Zach Weakland will be on hand to talk about their beer. They make all kinds of beer for all kinds of people. Special pricing available on all High Hops beer. Stop by from 6pm to 8pm and get $3 pints and free snacks.

Cranknstein (Fort Collins) - Announcing the New Years Eve Firk-off! Cranknstein is getting together with the beers of New Belgium Brewery and Great Divide Brewing Company for a big New Year's Eve celebration that is not to be missed. They are planning live music, dancing and a lot of great fantastic beers pouring. More details will be posted via their Facebook page soon. Plan to attend, that is if the world doesn't end on the 21st, in which case, head to their "End of Days" party on December 20th at 9pm first.

Rackhouse Pub (Denver) - This Wednesday is Installment #2 of their "I'd Tap That" tasting series. This week, they're featuring the beers of Grand Teton Brewing Company of Idaho. Stop by at 5pm on December 5th for a taste of: 2011 Black Cauldron Imperial Stout, XX Bitch Creek Double ESB, and their Pursuit of Hoppiness. Something new each week from the dark corners of the Rackhouse beer cooler.
