Colorado Beer News 120712

Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Today we take time to remember the tragic events of December 7, 1941 when the US was attacked by the Empire of Japan in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Over 2,400 Americans lost their lives and more than 1,100 were wounded. Take time to remember this day and also to thank a veteran or active military personnel for their service. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, December 7th, 2012.

Metro Denver / Boulder

Prost Brewing (Denver) - Come grab a growler card. Get it punched every time you fill one up. After you get 10 punches on the card you'll then be able to get your 11th fill FREE. Refills only available at Prost Brewing.

Twisted Pine Brewing Co (Boulder) - Today's the day for their re-release of the Northstar Imperial Porter. And yes, it's as good as you remember.

River North Brewery (Denver) - December 14th marks the release of another batch of Quandary Quad! According to their blog: "The much-anticipated return of Quandary Quadrupel is at hand! Our original Belgian-style Strong Dark Ale will re-release on Friday, December 14th at 3pm! This brews exhibits the smooth sweetness and warming esters you've come to expect from an Abbey-style Quad. This time, we’re going to kick it up a notch for the release party. From 3 to 8pm on the 14th, we’ll open what we’re calling our “barrel garden.” Part barrel-cellar, part beergarden, those who were here during GABF got to experience sipping RNB beer among our ever-growing barrel farm. We’ll have Quandary on tap and available to-go in bombers ($9). To fill the extra taps on our portable draft system we’ll also throw on some other special brews to be decided later."

Northern Colorado

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Welcome to the weekend! Today they open at 12 noon. Today you'll get $1 off all pints up until 3:00pm. Tonight the Chaulkboard Gourmet Express will be on site serving up their special Bacon Cheeseburger specials for just $5. Stop in before the snows hit later this weekend.

Odell Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Get ready for another new offering from Odell. No, it's not Lugene, it's another beer called Amuste - a blend of beer and wine. Or rather a Must. In Odell's words: "Must is to wine as wort is to beer; the primordial ooze, the source and foundation, that feeds the process of fermentation we all love so much. Amuste is the culmination of a two year endeavor to marry these two fuels into the same fire. An imperial porter aged in oak wine barrels accented with juice from Tempranillo grapes grown on the western slope of Colorado, this harmonic combination is truly, a must." Look for this 9.3% ABV brew to appear in the new year in 750ml bottles.

South Front Range

KB Kraft Beer (Colorado Springs) - Planning ahead just in case. They recently brewed up their End of the World beer and plan to release that for December 21st (naturally). But before that, they will be releasing their holiday beers on December 14th. That gives you a week to drink them up.

Shamrock Brewing Co (Pueblo) - On Friday, December 21, 2012 from 9pm to midnight, It's the end of the world as we know it.... Do you feel fine? You will at the Shamrock's Apocalypse Party! December 21 from 9 til midnight, featuring Change Agents from 10 til 12. End of the world drinks specials! Be there.
