Colorado Beer News page 2Welcome to Page 2 of today's Colorado Beer News. Here's more of what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, December 20th, 2012. More news being added to this page throughout the day til 3:00pm Mountain time.

Mountains and West

Mountain Madness Brewing Co (Durango) - While their brewery may not be quite open yet, their restaurant is celebrating their 1 year anniversary today. In celebration, they are offering up $2 pints of beer today and free pizza slices at their place on the north side of Durango. Look for their brewery to open sometime in 2013.

Elevation Beer Co (Poncha Springs) - Finally, their not so Fall Black Series release, Downpour, an Imperial Red Ale, is now out. Downpour is named after the sudden thunderous downpour that hit the Elevation Team during a “team building” trip of paddle boarding and beer at Chaffee County’s Cottonwood Lake. The hot day on the lake and its enlivening, bitter, cold downpour inspired them to create an Imperial Red Ale with a combination of the fresh bitterness of 4 different types of hops and the warming of a big malt backbone. This beer is perfectly balanced for the warmth of summer sun and the cold of fall rain. Bottles and kegs are already available at several front range locations with more being added daily. This was a limited release of 30 kegs and 140 cases. Get it while it lasts!

Dolores River Brewery (Dolores) - The last night for the pub this year is this Sat. Night, December 22nd. Sam Kelly's amazing band will play, and the beer will flow! After that they will be closed for the Zombie apocalypse sure to follow the end times. They'll reopen on January 2nd for all those who've managed to survive. Peace, bacon and beer to all!

Pagosa Brewing Co (Pagosa Springs) - Tomorrow is their "Mayan End of the World" / Solstice Party at the Brewery. Join them for Special Mayan inspired Holy Mole! Brown Ale and Chipotle Wings - a perfect pair. Celebrate the shortest day of the year around the fire with a pint of your favorite.
