While the number of events scheduled during the winter tends to be very low, there are always drink and food specials going on at most Colorado breweries. And let's not forget about the Big Game and Mardi Gras celebrations. This page will be updated often as news of upcoming February events are announced.

Now in its 35th year! A long time ago back in 1979 the Land of Durango was covered in winter's darkness and the People and Commerce were depressed. A great lament was heard throughout the Land, as the days were short and bore little fruit. And so it came to pass one dark day The Founder John Murrah, heard this hue and cry. He enjoined the Lords of Business and the Lords of Information Dissemination that a winter celebration would bring Enterprise to the land and raise up the people in their time of need. Then the Founder said to the people, "Let there be FUN!" And SNOWDOWN was established as a winter Fun celebration. This year's theme is "Get Your Geek On". The coming of February can only mean one thing at the Mountain Sun breweries and pubs - it marks the return of Stout Month! All three establishments: Mountain Sun, Southern Sun in Boulder and the Vine Street Pub & Brewery in Denver will be hosting a month long celebration of all things dark. Dark beer that is. As in stouts! You'll find at least 12 different stouts on tap at each location at all times with new ones appearing almost daily.

Love the Rails & Ales Brewfest held every June but looking for a diversion from winter blues now? Try the Beer Tasting Train, an on-board, heated version of their popular summer event. They've brought all the good stuff inside: craft beers from the region, special lunch menus and a live rock performer. Six regional brewers will be on board to visit each car, give samples and talk about their craft beers. The first annual WinterWonderGrass festival is coming to the Vail Valley on February 16th and 17th, 2013. Mixing the finest ingredients of the Colorado lifestyle and delivering a batch to Crazy Mountains's global winter audience and local music enthusiasts. Lively regional, national and local bluegrass, craft beers, warm BBQ & local food will surround locals and Vail’s experience seeking guests in a Winter Wonderland. This intimate gathering will focus on sustainability, community business and support of the arts. As River North Brewery rapidly approaches one year of operation, Head Brewer Matt
Hess has been harboring a dark secret, a concoction unlike any other the brewery has produced to date. Clocking in at 12.5% ABV, the River North 1st Anniversary Imperial Stout is the brewery’s highest-gravity offering thus far. It will release Saturday, February 16th at 1pm to kick off the brewery’s first-anniversary party, when the brewery will open its barrel garden to the public. Both draft pours and bombers-to-go will be available. This celebration represents the culmination of a productive first year for River North. Including the anniversary beer, the brewery released nine unique “mainline” ales this past year, in addition to seven barrel-aged varieties of those brews. Since acquiring its first two whiskey barrels in March, the barrel program has grown to include more than 30 whiskey, wine and rum barrels of varying brands.
