Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - With the coming of the new year, Grimm Brothers is releasing a new beer today at 4:00pm and it's a wild one. The Farmer's Wild Daughter is a twist on an old recipe. They took their traditional Oktoberfest lager and barrel aged it for 14 months and added wild Brettanomyces to it to give it a noticeable sour finish. Hints of caramel notes and light fruity esters will awaken your inner beer geek to enjoy the sharp complex sour finish. This wild sibling of their well behaved Farmer's Daughter is sure to raise some eyebrows in the family. Also, when you stop in, ask about their BCS Championship growler deal.

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - 2013 is going to be a busy one for City Star. Odell's taproom is now open on Sundays 11am-6pm starting this Sunday!

Southern Front Range

Trinity Brewing Company (Colorado Springs) - Trinity is looking ahead in 2013 and they foresee having shortages in obtaining certain fruity hops, so they are changing up how they get some of that fruitiness in some of their beers. They will begin using more tangerine and sweet orange zests instead. Later in January, they are planning to break ground on another expansion at the brewery and adding an additional 2,000 square feet for a new Barrel aging room. Look for more wild and sour beers in their future. Think white wine French Oak barrels! The first beer in their wild barrel project is due to be released on February 1st - it's a 100+ IBU sour IPA called Red Swingline IPA Primitif.
