Colorado Beer NewsToday is I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore Day. You don't have to be mad as hell to want to change something in your life. Don't take it anymore when there's so many choices of great craft beer in Colorado to choose from. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, January 7th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Rockyard Brewing Co (Castle Rock) - Heading to the Beer Beers Festival in Vail this weekend? If so, be sure to try their 3 new brews being debuted: "Spirit of Danny" - a Cabernet barrel-aged Brett Saison (10% ABV), "Wilson" - an imperial stout homebrew from KROC (9.5% ABV), and "Leroy" - a malty Bier de Garde (7% ABV). They'll also be pouring some Buddha Nuvo - a fruit, pumpkin and spice saison from 2011 (12% ABV). Not at the fest? Look for these at their brewery after.

Dad & Dude's Breweria (Aurora) - 50 cents for a PITCHER OF CRAFT BEER??? Get a full pitcher of the craft beer of your choice for 50 CENTS Monday & Thursday nights from 6:00pm until close!! Offer valid with the purchase of 12" or larger pizza! One per customer per night. This offer is only good through the month of January!

Prost Brewing Company (Denver) - Mondays just got better. Today is a 2 for 1 Growler Day at Prost! Growler card holders will get two punches on your way to a free growler for every growler filled. Don't have a card? Ask for one!

Boulder County

J Wells BreweryJ Wells Brewery (Boulder) - Save the date! Thursday, January 10th from 1:00pm to 10:00pm is the time set for their Grand Opening in Boulder. This small nano-brewery plans to open up with three of their own beers on tap including: Hop Haze IPA, Jamie's Pale Ale, and Chocolate Milk Stout. They plan to have limited hours initially: Thursday, Friday and Saturday 4:00pm to 9:00pm. By next week, they also hope to release their Lights Out Stout - an imperial stout. By February, they plan to have growlers available and start bottling some of their beer. J Wells Brewery is located at: 2516 49th Street in Boulder, CO 80301. Visit them on Facebook.

Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - Hop heads take note! Betcha can't wait to try their 2013 edition of their Mojo Risin' Double IPA. It hits their taps on Thursday, January 10th at 4:00pm.

Bootstrap Brewing Co (Niwot) - More big beers headed up to Vail this weekend. Bootstrap will be pouring their Insane Rush IPA and their Bootstrap Homegrown Barleywine for the festival this year. Come prepared the the high altitude and high ABVs!!

Avery Brewing Company (Boulder) - 2013 is shaping up to be another great beer festival year and already Avery Brewing has outlined their entire year of brewery hosted beer festivals. January 19 - Dictators Unite, March 1-2 Boulder Strong Ale Fest, June 8th Boulder SourFest, August 4th Avery 20th Anniversary Party, and November 9th Boulder IPA Fest. Northern Colorado

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - It's almost that time of year again when the City of Loveland, CO gets ready for their 67th annual Loveland Valentine Re-Mailing Program. Once again, Grimm Brothers has partnered up to be the official brewery to make an annual Valentine's Day beer. Last year, Grimm Brothers brewed up The Bleeding Heart, a cherry chocolate porter. Today at 10:00am they announced The Bleeding Heart Coffee Porter as the 2013 Valentine beer at the official debut of this year's Loveland Valentine card and cachet.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - Late last week, Funkwerks received a couple new whiskey barrels that they have targeted for their Dark Prophet. There was even enough whiskey left in the barrel for them to have a nice glass of it. Rumor has it they might be Maker's Mark barrels. Look for barrel-aged Dark Prophet in the months to come.

Mountains and West

Ska Brewing Company (Durango) - What would make two guys from Ska fly all the way out to Washington DC? New legislation? NO! To collaborate on a new beer of course! Ska is getting together with DC Brau Brewing Company and The Pietasters (Ska Band) to come up with a beer to be called (tentatively) Taster's Choice - a big 'ol coffee dopplebock. Look for word on this new brew availability soon.
