Colorado Drinking Laws (Denver) - Several bills are being considered in 2013 that would affect who, how and when we can buy and consume alcohol in this state. Many may have already heard of Senate Bill 54, aka the "Drinking with Dad" bill that would propose to allow parents to buy their 18 to 20 year old adult offspring an alcoholic beverage and let them drink it legally. There is another law being considered that doesn't appear to be drinking related, but would actually need to have some booze inclusions with it. Senate Bill 16 would allow the use of self-driving vehicles in Colorado. Cars with new technology to drive themselves would be legalized as long as there is at least 1 licensed to drive passenger in the car. Now suppose that passenger is drunk. Can that person who isn't driving still be arrested for drunk driving under this law? That would be interesting to follow. There's still another bill to allow full strength beer to be sold in grocery and convenience stores that is trying to pass for the umpteenth time as well.
