Colorado Beer NewsToday is Bob Marley's Birthday. Nesta Robert Marley was born on this day back in 1945 and became one of the most popular Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician. Known for being the rhythm guitarist and lead singer for the ska, rocksteady and reggae bands The Wailers and Bob Marley & The Wailers. Tip back a toast to the memory of Bob Marley today. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, February 6th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Wynkoop Brewing Co (Denver) - Just a few seats left for Wynkoop's Mardi Gras Rum & Beer Dinner on Thursday, February 7th at 6:30pm. 5 courses and 5 rum & beer pairings. Call to make a reservation at: 303.297.9999. Tonight, join the Geeks Who Drink for some fast paced Trivia at 8:30pm. And don't forget to mark your calendar for Saturday, February 23rd at 2:00pm for the annual Beerdrinker of the Year National Finals being held at the Wynkoop. Three top finalists try to convince the audience and the panel of judges that they are the best Beerdrinker of them all. The winner receives free beer for LIFE at the Wynkoop!

Yak & Yeti (Arvada) - It's going to be a busy week for beer releases at Yak & Yeti. Today at 4:00pm they'll tap a Vanilla Porter, made with Madagascar vanilla beans. On Tuesday, February 12th (Fat Tuesday) they will have a 4pm release of "Yakety Yak Don't Talk Bock" and followed at 5pm by a Blessing of the Bock by an ordained minister. On Wednesday, February 13th they're tapping a Cherry Porter at 4pm. That beer uses 13 pounds of Montgomery cherries in a 5 gallon keg! Finally, on Valentine's Day, stop in for some Red Hots Wheat (pink beer). This uses real candy Red Hots which turn the beer bright red/hot pink and will remind you of Dentyne Gum.

Copper Kettle Brewing Co (Denver) - CKBC is expanding their brewhouse. "Frank the Tank", a new 30 barrel fermenter just arrived yesterday and they are preparing to set it up. This will allow them to ferment bigger batches! Also, today is their big 75% OFF SALE on many clothing items. Men's t-shirts starting at $2.60. Women's cap sleeve Bella shirts starting at $2.75.

Parry's Pizza (Highlands Ranch) - Stop in at Parry's tomorrow, Thursday February 7th for a special release party of a re-creation of the very first craft beer in America. Samuel Adams will be tapping New Albion - the return of the original craft brew. The tapping starts at 5:30pm.

Boulder County

Boulder Beer Company (Boulder) - In honor of Bob Marley's birthday today, you can get Happy Hour pricing all day long on their Hazed & Infused Dry Hopped Ale. Also, Season 2 of Team Trivia begins tonight at 7pm. All teams start with a clean slate. The grand prize is a keg of Boulder Beer and a $250 bar tab. Yah, mon!

Northern Colorado

Patrick's Irish Pub (Greeley) - Come taste some Telluride beers tonight as Patrick's helps launch their beer in Northern Colorado! One of their reps will be here around 7-9pm to hang out and talk. $3 Bridal Veil Rye Pale Ale and $1 for samples of their other beers.

Pateros Creek Brewing Co (Fort Collins) - Starting tonight, PCBC is starting up a new Dart League and want you all to sign up! They will be having an informational meeting tonight, February 6th, at 6pm and go over the general rules, sign-up, and of course play Darts and drink beer. There will be both a Fun league and a Competitive league.

Funkwerks (Fort Collins) - Something new is being served today in their featured weekly keg. Funkwerks presents their Ginger Peach Tea Saison. They started with a base of their flagship Saison and then infused it with black tea, ginger and peach pieces. Stop by to try a glass.

Southern Front Range

Trinity Brewing (Colorado Springs) To celebrate Bob Marley's birthday, Trinity is giving away a FREE Awaken Stout to everyone wearing red, gold, green and black today! This Friday, February 8th, Trinity welcomes back their Chilly Water Baltik Porter to the taproom. This beer was aged in whiskey barrels and is now ready. Then on Valentine's Day - stop in for a taste of their "Passed Stout". This brew was made with milk chocolate, cacao nibbs and Madagascar vanilla beans. Also, get set for the annual Firkin Rendezvous happening on Saturday, February 23rd with a rare firkin of Pappy Legba at the event.

Mountains and West

Crazy Mountain Brewing (Edwards) - Winter WonderGrass Tickets are still available at Crazy Mountain's tasting room for $65 for a 2-day pass. You get a FREE BEER with every ticket purchased. Single day tickets can be bought online at Festival is Feb 16-17th, from 3-10pm. Also, it's the last day to buy tickets for tomorrow's Cupcake & Beer Pairing at the brewery. Stop at the brewery or call 970.926.3009 to secure your spot. $10 gets you 3 beers and 3 cupcakes.
