Colorado Beer NewsToday is Valentine's Day. It's a special day to show the one you care about just how much you love them. And what better way to show your love than buying them one of their favorite craft beers! There are plenty special tappings of chocolate infused beers and other sweet ingredients. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, February 14th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Arvada Beer Co (Arvada) - Bring that loved one down to Arvada Beer for one of their 12 beers on tap and they will throw in a nice cupcake or a chocolate covered strawberry. Plus, they have a very special beer on tap just for Valentine's Day, a Strawberry Lager made with real strawberries. Try one while supplies last. They open at 12 noon.

Cannonball Creek Brewing (Golden) - The tasting room is open today at 3:00 PM. The Victorville Red returns, and they debut a brand new beer! Gluteus Minimus is a new gluten-reduced American Pale Ale. This beer features a naturally occurring enzyme that breaks down gluten and has proven to be effective for many folks that are gluten intolerant. Golden's own Smokey J's BBQ will be there smoking up some killer food.

Great Divide Brewing (Denver) - Join in at their Tap Room on Thursday, February 14th at 2pm for a special Valentine’s Day treat. Great Divide will be pouring an extremely-rare, Jim Beam bourbon barrel aged version of their Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti. This is the most elusive Yeti yet, and it’s only available in the Tap Room. Come get some of this big, barrel aged, chocolate Yeti lovin’ while it lasts.

Wit's End Brewing (Denver) - Wit's End is hosting a chocolate / beer pairing tonight. Come solo or come as a couple. It's all about love, beer and chocolate today. They will be open from 4pm to 9pm today.

Lone Tree Brewing Co (Lone Tree) - New tappings today! The Princess Vidrevitz Russian Imperial Stout and their new Chocolate Cherry Stout will be tapped today at noon. Two great reasons to drop by on Valentine's Day.

Boulder County

Bootstrap Brewing (Niwot) - Today at the tap room Bootstrap will be passing out chocolates with every pint purchased today.

Wild Woods Brewery (Boulder) - Bring your Valentine out to Wild Woods today to enjoy $1 off pints of their Chocolate Covered Strawberry - its a blend of their Smores Stout and the new Berrypatch Wheat. It's berry romantic!

J Wells Brewery (Boulder) - Don't let the snow and cold keep you from coming to the brewery today! LADIES especially drink free on J Wells Brewerys' first ever Valentines event. They will also have cheeses and chocolates for a little something extra special They also have games to play, plenty of beer to drink and good company!

Fate Brewing Co (Boulder) - Today they just tapped their special collaboration beer with Southern Sun Pub & Brewery - it's their Cherry Fate - a cherry infused stout. On tap at both Fate Brewing and Southern Sun.

Shine Restaurant & Brewery (Boulder) - Today Shine is promoting a special APHRODISIAC food and drink menu just for Valentine's Day. Top that off with a live burlesque show at 8:30pm and you've got a sweet Valentine's day memory package!

Northern Colorado

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Just a reminder that their taproom will close today at 6:00pm for their reservation only Annual Valentine's Couples Dinner. Stop in early to get your growler fills and pints.

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you are flying solo this evening or spending time with your Valentine come on in for Chocolate and Beer at City Star this evening. 5 beers paired with 5 chocolates by Robin Chocolates, Spruce Confections and Chocolove. $15/pairing, anytime 5-9pm, reservations not required.

Equinox Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Today they will be tapping a firkin of Remi's Saison IPA - its dry hopped with lots of Citra hops for a wonderful aroma.

Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - Still looking for a last minute Valentine's Day dinner idea? How about a beer dinner? Loveland Aleworks will be the featured brewery at The Tavern at St. Michael's Square in Greeley tonight at 7:00pm. 5 courses - 5 beers - $34.99 per person. For info call The Tavern at 970.330.2337.

Pateros Creek Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - Special Valentine's Day release - Love Porter No. 9 - a chocolate covered strawberry porter.

Southern Front Range

Trinity Brewing (Colorado Springs) - At 5pm today Trinity is releasing their Passed Stout - a chocolate imperial stout for the first time in 2 years. They'll be pairing it with a Chocolate Lava Cake. They are also doing some super special beer & chocolate pairings starting at noon today. Stop in for a tasty treat!

Bristol Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Stop by today at 4:00pm for a free sample of chocolate from Patsy's Canides paired with a free sample of beer from Bristol Brewing! Starts at 4pm and lasts until the chocolate runs out (which could go very quickly!). Located at 1657 Tejon Street.

Mountains and West

Tommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) - A beer suggestion for Valentine's Day - Nothing says I love you like chocolate - so why not treat your sweetheart to a Cocoa Porter from Tommyknocker! Its made with cocoa powder and honey to create a special brew.

Backcountry Brewery (Frisco) - Tonight they'll hosting a Valentine's Day dinner special. Surf & Turf! You can opt for all surf, or just turf or both! Call 970.668.2337 for reservations or more details. Be sure to buy your sweetheart a beer!

Bars, Restaurants and Misc.

Patrick's Irish Pub (Greeley) - How far around the world have you made it so far? It you're participating in their Around the World in 80 Flavs - if you are one of the 1st 10 people to collect 80 different stamps in their Passport you will earn an Around the World commemorative t-shirt. 32 beers on tap and just as many different whiskeys to sample as well.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (Littleton) - Alamo Drafthouse is pleased to announce a full draft beer lineup for Alamo Drafthouse Littleton and its adjacent stand-alone bar, Glass Half Full. The Glass Half Full tap wall draws exclusively from local and regional Colorado breweries, with an emphasis on the world-class beer produced in and around Denver. The Glass Half Full tap wall will feature an extensive lineup of 32 craft beers from 20 Colorado brewers, including 4 "Badass" taps that will rotate a range of beers, from barrel-aged sours to rare seasonals to pilot batches and small, upstart brewers debuting their product in the Denver market. Patrons can order beers from the tap wall inside Glass Half Full or from their seat inside the movie theater to enjoy while watching a film. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is located at 7301 S.
