Colorado Beer NewsToday is Single Tasking Day. In a world where multitasking has become the norm, today is a day to take a step back, evaluate what's really important and do just one task at a time - and specifically the task that we feel is most important to ourselves. Make sure that one of those tasks include sitting back and enjoying a refreshing craft beer at the end of your day. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, February 19th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - It's almost Wednesday and that will mean another special firkin will be tapped at 3:00pm. This week's firkin is a Coffee Smoked Porter. It'll be pouring from 3pm to 9pm (while it lasts) on February 20th. This brew ought to keep you going for the afternoon.

Parry's Pizzeria & Bar (Highlands Ranch) - A new tap takeover event has just been announced for Parry's Highlands Ranch location. There will be a Russian River tap takeover set for Saturday, March 23rd from 11:00am to close. A variety of Russian River brews including some rare ones will be featured on tap. Also, coming up on Friday, March 15th there will be a Boulevard Brewing pint night from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. A Boulevard rep will be in house handing out pint glasses when you order their Irish Red, Coffee Ale, or an Unfiltered Wheat.

Denver Beer Company (Denver) - Bacon fans! This Saturday morning, February 23rd from 9am to 12pm, Denver Beer Company will be hosting and all you can eat bacon event - Beer, Bacon & Coffee Fest. For $30 you'll get not only a breakfast burrito, lots of coffee, a souvenir mug, breakfast ales and unlimited bacon! Call or visit Denver Beer Co to reserve your seat - (303) 433-2739. Vine Street Pub & Brewery (Denver) - As part of Stout Month, Vine Street currently has 6 imperial stouts on tap including: BOB Imperial Milk Stout, Megatron Imperial Stout, Addiction Imperial Coffee Stout, Nihilist Imperial Stout, Oatimus Prime Imperial Oatmeal Stout, and Avery The Czar Imperial Stout. February is a whole lot better when you drink from the dark side!

Renegade Brewing (Denver) - On Saturday, February 21st - The Denver Bicycle Cafe is hosting a beer and cheese pairing featuring beer by Renegade and cheese provided by Marczyk’s Fine Food. Learn about beer, cheese, flavor pairings, and experience pure joy of the taste buds. There will be two tastings, one at 6:00pm and one at 8:00pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the event. Hall Brewing Co (Parker) - The line-up of Hall Brewing beers is about to get even bigger. There were two new labels just approved by the TTB for Hall Farmhouse Pilsner and Hall Seaonal Bock Farmhouse Lager. Look for these to be hitting shelves around Denver in the near future.

Hops & Pie (Denver) - Fresh now on tap! Three Philosophers from Brewery Ommegang, Poor Richards from Dry Dock Brewing, Mischief from The Bruery, Coconut Porter from Maui Brewing, G'Knight from Oskar Blues and New World Porter from Avery Brewing. Top off a pint with their pizza slice of the day: Artichoke, feta, spinach and sun dried tomato.

Boulder County

Mobile Canning (Longmont) - Business continues to grow for the Longmont-based beer canning business. More Colorado breweries are signing up with Mobile Canning to handle their packaging needs. Mobile Canning now has signed up with the following breweries: River North Brewery, Revolution Brewing, Big Choice Brewing, Renegade Brewing, Boulder Beer Company, Crystal Springs Brewing, Pateros Creek Brewing, Crabtree Brewing, Bonfire Brewing and now even a meadery - Redstone Meadery. Several other states have signed up for Mobile Canning services too.

Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery (Boulder) - Stout month continues. Stop in for a taste of Bourbon BOB Imperial Milk Stout. They also have at least a dozen other stouts on tap just for Stout Month including several guest stouts. Stout Month happens at all three locations in Boulder and Denver.

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Do you have your tickets for the Hops & Handrails Beer Fest & Rail Jam yet? It's coming up on Saturday, March 23rd at Left Hand Brewing Company. The new winter event will feature 23 of Colorado’s finest craft breweries alongside a 25 ft. high ski ramp at Left Hand’s brewery location from 2 p.m. till 7 p.m. Hops & Handrails Beer Fest & Rail Jam will bring the best Colorado has to offer in a family friendly winter wonderland loaded with skis & snowboards, great music, local food, and craft beer. Hops & Handrails will benefit 3 different nonprofits, SOS Outreach, A Woman’s Work, and the Colorado Brewers Guild. Tickets and info here.

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - If you high-five your bartender today at Twisted Pine you'll get 10% off all your beers! (Don't forget now).

Northern Colorado

Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - Verboten now has it's first draft customer. You can now get Verboten's Killer Boots (Caramel Porter) on tap at The Mayor of Old Town. So if Verboten isn't open, you can always get some of their beer at the Mayor.

The Tavern at St. Michael's Square (Greeley) - Tuesday is pint day at The Tavern. You can get $3 pints of all of their beers on tap including Loveland Aleworks Black Berry Wit, Left Hand's Milk Stout, and Funkwerks Saison! Always something tasty on tap at The Tavern.

The Forge Publick House (Ft. Collins) - On Thursday, February 21st from 6-8pm The Forge will be hosting a Breckenridge Brewery Night. Ryan from Breck will be on hand to lead the tapping festivities of their rare Porters Pride. There will be some giveaways and several Breck brews on tap.

Tap and Handle (Ft. Collins) - This Friday, February 22nd at 5pm, Tap and Handle will host a Firestone Walker tap takeover. Elizabeth from Firestone Walker will be there and unveiling 11 FW beers on tap including their Anniversary XVI, Sucaba and an unfiltered DBA. There will be some contests and giveaways as well. Don't miss out!

Southern Front Range

Phantom Canyon Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Just released - 1948 Strong Ale - Revival Series #20. Originally brewed at the Portsmouth and Brighton United Breweries, Portsmouth, England. This Strong Ale is a substantial beer while still being smooth. It is golden amber in color, with fruit-like flavors and alcohol warmth. The aroma is fruity with underlying bready notes. The flavor is balanced between malt and hop with neither dominating. There are also hints of apple and ladyfingers. The beer finishes with a light lingering hop flavor. Weighs in at 8.25% ABV and served in a snifter.

Mountains and West

Kannah Creek Brewing (Grand Junction) - Kannah Creek is planning to host their 1st dinner and beer pairing event on Sunday, March 3rd at 5pm. They will have 4 courses and 5 different beers including their special Barrel #6 Aged Brown Ale for their after dinner drink. Cost is $40 per person (does not include tax or tip). Call 970.263.0111 to reserve your spot. Located at 1960 N. 12th Street in Grand Junction, CO. Also, stop in every Monday for a new different firkin. Monday, March 4th's 5pm firkin tapping will be Lupie Leprechaun, an Irish IPA blend. This tapping will also be a fundraiser for Roice Hurst Humane Society. Coming up in May, Kannah Creek will be opening up a new production facility & tap room and hopes to host live music there!

Dillon Dam Brewery (Dillon) - Have you tried their new Yo Han Bock (German-style doppelbock) yet? It's a clean malty dark lager with rich caramel malts and some hints of smoke and chocolate. Pair that with some of their new menu items including Improved Mountain Man Mac & Cheese, Warm Spinach Salad, Veggie Wrap, and a Portabella Ravioli. There will also be live music this Thursday at 9:30pm with 4H Royalty. Thursday night is also Girls Night Out with free 1/2 pints for the gals between 9-11pm.

Two Rascals Brewing (Montrose) - Music, a movie and more! Tonight is Acoustic Tuesday - listen to local talent while you sip a brew. Wednesday there will be free screening of "Spirit of the Snow" at 7pm. On Thursday, gather for the Young Professionals Networking Social form 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Free appetizers, $ bar). Then live music returns on Friday 6-9pm and Saturday 7-10pm.
