Press Release February 4, 2013

FATE Brewing Company will open its doors to the public on Monday night, February 4th. The building, home to Jose Muldoon’s for over twenty years, is no longer recognizable as that earlier local landmark. The newly renovated 7000 square foot space offers indoor seating for nearly 200, highlights a 3000 square foot brewery and features 30 beers on draft.

For the Grand Opening, Owner Mike Lawinski and Head Brewer Jeff Griffith, have partnered with brewers at nearly all local Boulder breweries to create collaboration beers that FATE Brewing Company will serve on draft. Along with the collaboration series, FATE Brewing Company will open the doors February 4th pouring small batch, hard to find craft brews as tribute to the craft brewing industry as a whole. Griffith will begin brewing FATE Brewing Company’s core product offerings in February. Collaboration beers on draft now include an 100% organic Cocoa Punk’n Porter (collaboration with Asher Brewing Company), a medium-bodied English Mild Brown Ale (partnership with Boulder Beer), a roasty Rye Brown Ale (brewed with Twisted Pine Brewery), a slightly smoky Scotch Ale (created with Crystal Springs Brewing Company), a well-balanced Imperial IPA (collaboration with Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place) and a single hop Extra Pale Ale (brewed with Wild Woods Brewery). More collaborations in the works include BRU handbuilt ales, Big Choice Brewing, Upslope Brewing Company and Mountain Sun Brewery.

In addition to the nearly 200 seats inside, thirty of which are seats at the centerpiece bar, the restaurant’s south facing patio is sure to be a Boulder favorite with seating for an additional 90.

FATE Brewing Company’s Head Chef, Tim Berry has created a diverse menu featuring craveable, innovative comfort food, with items ranging from chili rubbed ruby red trout to health conscious small plates such as sweet potatoes with goat cheese and arugula.

“We are thrilled to invite everyone to come in and enjoy a beer with us, fill their stomach, and enjoy the atmosphere,” comments Lawinski. Lawinski has also put a strong emphasis on his staff and customer service. The staff has been busy studying, touring local breweries and distilleries, attending seminars and focusing on team-building.

“We are committed to breathing new life into East Boulder and see value in investing in this local community. We look forward to sharing many experiences with our guests and being their new favorite destination. ”, continued Lawinski.

The restaurant will be open daily at 11am and serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays at 10am. A Core Beer Release Party will be announced in March. For more information on the restaurant, brewery or upcoming events, please call 303.449.FATE.

Founder Mike Lawinski has wide-ranging knowledge in the restaurant and craft beer industry. He began his restaurant career with Big Red F ten years ago, and most recently was the Operations Manager for West End Tavern and Centro Latin Kitchen on Pearl Street. Head Brewer Jeff Griffith joins the FATE Brewing Company team from Golden City Brewery. Jeff’s unique blend of innovation and expertise in the craft beer world make him an ideal fit, he was the driving force behind Evolution IPA, Stand Up Double IPA, Imperial Stout, JavapeƱo Imperial Stout and more during his time at Golden City Brewery. Head Chef Tim Berry’s focus on intentional food and recipes, eye for quality and enthusiastic personality rounds out the FATE Brewing Company team.
