Just be sure you have a Plan B just in case. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, April 5th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Baseball: It's Opening Day at Coors Field in Denver! Which beer are you going to drink before / during / after the game? The LoDo area will be packed with people. You are encouraged to use public transportation around Denver today. Be safe, have fun, stay hydrated and don't forget the sunblock!

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - On Saturday April 6th, they'll have not one but two new beers on tap. Stop in for a taste of their Butter Pecan Brown (a returning favorite) and their Strawberry Golden. Come watch the game while you're at it. (Wonder if they'll have Colorado Brews on at 9:30pm? - hint hint).

Hops & Pie (Denver) - New beers just tapped: Game Of Thrones from Ommegang, Reverend from Avery, Gubna from OB, Union Jack from Firestone Walker, Crooked Stave's Surette, & White Oak from The Bruery. Also, tonight is 1st Friday Firkin time. This month, Dry Dock Brewing brought over a firkin of Apple Pie Rye. It taps at 6pm. Stop in after the Rockies game for a taste.

Former Future Brewing (Denver) - In just a week they'll be hosting their first small tasting event. If you didn't grab a ticket for that you can still try their beers at the South Denver Beer Fest. It won't be too much longer until their brewery opens for real in the fall.

Brewery Rickoli (Denver) - There are two secret beers on tap today - aka their "stash release". They have their "Peach Gobbler Ale" - an 8.6% ABV Wild Turkey barrel aged beer with Colorado peaches, also they're tapping the MONOLITH - a Russian Imperial Stout (12% ABV). Since this is a secret tapping - keep your voice down while ordering one. M'kay?

Great Divide Brewing (Denver) - It's out just in time for the baseball season - Great Divide's Heyday - a Belgian style white ale. It measures 5.2% ABV. On store shelves now.

Boulder County

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - On tap today! La Petite Saison - a Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Look for bottles of this to hit shelves soon as well.

Asher Brewing Company (Boulder) - In addition to their beer line-up, Verde will be on site offering up burritos, tacos and other delights. Also, Tyler T will be performing folk music tonight.

Avery Brewing (Boulder) - Everyone's favorite strong-arm dragon is back on tap today in the Avery Tap Room starting at 5pm. Strogdor The Burninator - a smoked Doppelbock goes on tap today at 5:00pm.

Northern Colorado

Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) - Today's Free Beer Friday is their Shaved Tail Ale. It taps at 2:00pm. Also, this Saturday is "Show Us Your Beaver" day. Wear your Big Beaver gear and get a free pint. The Stubby Shillelaghs play Saturday night as well.

Black Bottle Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Good news! Construction on Prospect has re-opened the street! Today they are tapping Ginger Red Ale - a 6.3% ABV 36 IBU red wonder. Stop in for a glass and a bite.

Front Range RallyFront Range Rally (Loveland) - A new beer festival is coming on May 18th to Loveland, CO. It's the Front Range Rally - a craft beer and food truck festival. It's being held at the Loveland Food Share parking lot, 2600 N. Lincoln Ave, from 3pm to 7pm. Approximately 30 craft breweries and 15 food vendors will gather for an afternoon of food, beer, music and fun. Live music on stage from Mosey West and Doctor Doctor. Tickets are now on sale on Your ticket includes a tasting cup for unlimited 2oz pours and $10 in food tokens. Designated driver tickets also available. For details visit or on Facebook. Echo Brewing Company (Frederic) - Stout lovers take note. Echo Brewing has their C.V. Milk Stout back on tap today. Stop in for a glass.

Knockin' Rocks Brooms & Brewfest (Ft. Collins) - Folks in Northern Colorado will want to take note of a new brewfest coming to Fort Collins on June 29th - it's the Knockin' Rocks Brooms & Brewfest. This unique brewfest is a fundraiser set at the NoCo Ice Center and features a glimpse into the world of the sport of Curling! Tickets are on sale now. Festival times: Regular admission 1pm to 5pm and VIP Admission gets you in 1 hour earlier. Check out the details at: or on Facebook.

Equinox Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Stop in this weekend and try their new beer release: Flux Capacitor - a Belgian-style Pale Ale. It's measured at 5.4% ABV and 28 IBU.

The Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - New brews you should know about. On April 10th, everyone is invited to try their new Old Mottled Duck Olde Ale on tap in their tap room. It's an English strong stock ale (8.8% ABV 30 IBU). Then, on April 12th, FCB's newest seasonal Hoptitude Imperial Extra Pale Ale will be released. It's the winning recipe from their Test Tube series. (7.5% ABV 54 IBU). FCB now has new taproom hours - starting Sunday, April 14th, the tastign room will be open every Sunday from 12-7pm. This will make the tasting room open 7 days a week!

Southern Front Range

Bristol Brewing (Colorado Springs) - There will be a Bristol Brewing tap takeover on Friday, April 12th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Extreme Pizza in Colorado Springs (2130 Southgate Road). Get $3 Bristol Drafts and a free pint glass with your 1st beer purchased (while supplies last). Games and swag giveaways too. If you order the new Nutty Retriever pizza (14" or larger) you'll get a free Bristol pint.

Mountains and West

Suds Brother's Brewery II (Fruita) - With the arrival of Spring, come enjoy one of their daily specials along with one of their handcrafted microbrews. Their patio is now open and Happy Hour is every day from 4pm to 6pm. Listen to live music every Saturday night.
