Colorado Beer NewsToday is Name Yourself Day. We were given a name at birth. But today is the one day where you can give yourself a unique name for just one day a year. Just change your first, middle, or last name and then let people know about it. Who knows, if you like it well enough you can work to change it permanently! It's also Middle Name Pride Day. Show off the hidden part of your name. It's a slow brew news day due to the storm. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, April 9th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - Coming up this Wednesday, April 10th is another in their weekly Firkin Wednesdays. This week, they'll tap a Cherry Chocolate Stout starting at 3:00pm. It's made with Hershey's Dark Chocolate! Dig out of the snow tomorrow and head in to try one.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant & Brewpub (Arvada) - Due to the Belgian peach Whiskey Barrel beer still being available, there will be no new beers released this week. They did add a $11 beer and shot deal. Order a beer and a shot of Leopold Peach Whiskey for $11. Also, this Wednesday, April 10th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm it's Game Night at the Yak. Bring in a game to play or just show up and join in.

Strange Brewing Company (Denver) - Are you the type who loves venturing out and braving the elements? If so, their latest batch of 1000 Barrels Imperial IPA is ready and on tap. They packed in 3 pounds of hops into every barrel of this brew. Hop heads rejoice!

Boulder County

J Wells Brewery (Boulder) - The bottles are out! Bomber bottles of J Wells Hop Haze are now being distributed in the Boulder area. The first ever delivery just hit Hazel's Beverage World in Boulder today. Stop in and stock up.

Bootstrap Brewing Company (Niwot) - For Bootstrap fans who love their Worthog Stout - good news, they found a pin in the cooler of the brew and put it up today. Just 44 pints left - get it while it lasts! Also, it's Trivia night tonight as well at 6:30pm. Bring friends!

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Today in the Tasting Room Left Hand will be serving their cask conditioned Good Juju and cask conditioned Mango Tango (the winning cask conditioned beer from their last firkin event)!

Northern Colorado

Cruise 4 Brews (Loveland) - This Saturday, April 13th get your bicycle ready and meet at The Sports Station (409 N. Railroad Ave) in Loveland, Colorado for the Cruise 4 Brews tour. Bicyclists will departs The Sports Station at 12:15pm, ride to Big Beaver Brewing, then Grimm Brothers Brewhouse, Verboten Brewery (with an option of stopping into Dancing Pines Distillery) and then head back downtown to Loveland Aleworks. Be ready for any type of weather and have a bike light if you plan to stick around when the sun goes down. Joining in with the cycling is FREE - just pay for your own beverages. Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - Craig Corona will be here tonight playing live music! Bundle up, and come downtown and warm your bones with a glass of their Imperial Stout! Don't forget to wear your Aleworks shirt for a dollar off your beers today! If you don't own an Aleworks shirt yet, purchase one today, and they'll treat you to a pint on the house!

Black Bottle Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Getting there is the hard part today due to the roads. But if you do arrive, you'll get $1 off all Black Bottle beers and $1 off Growler fills. Also, they just tapped "Joy Division", a Gangster English Style Brown Ale. Worth the effort to get there.

Mountains and West

Ska Brewing (Durango) - It may be snowing like crazy, but Summer beer releases are already happening. Join Ska in their taproom on Wednesday, April 17th at 5pm for their Mexican Logger Beer Release Party. Listen to live music by the Lawn Chair Kings, feast on delights of the Taco Bar by Zia Taqueria, and get beer specials.

Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs) - Two beers in their Blue Series beers are getting released in 16oz 4-packs this week for statewide distribution. Their Little Mo' and First Cast 4-packs are out this week. These 4-packs will then be available year round. Look for them soon at a store near you in Colorado.

Revolution Brewing (Paonia) - Passing through Paonia today? If so, stop in at Revolution Brewing for a pint of "Stout Ol' Friend". It's just $3.50 all night, except when it's happy hour and then it's just $2.50.
