Colorado Beer NewsIt's Virtual Monday - the Tuesday after Memorial Day and it's one of a few times all year that a Tuesday feels like a Monday. The long holiday is over and it's time to get back to work Colorado. It's the last week of May and June is coming up this weekend. Here's what's happening around the Colorado craft breweries and businesses today on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - It's becoming known as a tasty addition for certain styles of beer and now you can try it in a limited release cask this Wednesday. Copper Kettle will tap their "Cucumber Saison" on Wednesday, May 29th at 3pm. This will be available until 9pm or whenever the cask is kicked. Also, look for Copper Kettle to soon bottle it's Mexican Chocolate Stout in 22oz bottles on it's new bottling line. Look for the 1st bottling run later in June and a release party later this Summer.

Beer By Design Brewery (Northglenn) - The next brewery to open in Colorado will be Beer By Design Brewery in Northglenn, Colorado. They have a soft opening set for this Saturday, June 1st. They plan to work out the kinks for a few weeks and then hold an official grand opening by June 28th. Read all about them in today's Press Release.

Epic Beer Festival (Denver) - One of the Summer's biggest beer festivals is coming up at the end of June. It's the inaugural Epic Beer Festival Denver. Expect to see over 120+ craft breweries pouring over 350 unique beers indoors at the Colorado Convention Center (Hall F). It's all happening June 28-29 spread out across 3 different tasting sessions. Denver Beer CO (Denver) - Tomorrow, May 29th in their Barrel Room at 7pm you can stop in and listen to Author Dave Thomas - "Of Mines & Beer!" talk about Denver area's beer history in the 19th century. For those who read the book, he's gathered a terrific history of how beer helped satisfy the miner's and their companions back in the 1800's.

Northern Colorado

High Hops Brewery (Windsor) - Stop in today at The Tavern at St. Michael's Square in Greeley for a High Hops Tap Takeover. Reps from High Hops will be on hand pouring 5 different beers. Tomorrow, May 29th it's Firkin Wednesday. This week they're tapping an Agave Jalapeno Wheat at 5pm. Don't forget live music on Friday 6-8pm and Saturday 5-7. Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - Now with their expanded tap wall there is more selection on tap. On tap this week: Roll in Ze Hay (Gose salted wheat), Thinking of Something Orange (Orange Blossom Honey Wheat), Got the Knife (golden ale), Get Busy Living (Pear Wit), Angry Banjo (dark cream ale), Killer Boots (caramel porter), Chicory Midnight Expresso, Midnight Expresso (nitro), Pure Imagination, Walking the Parapet (bourbon barrel porter), and Mantooth (Imperial IPA). Coming soon - the return of Five Second Frencher (Lemongrass Wit).

Funkwerks (Ft. Collins) - Only two more days until the re-release of White. This round will be considered one of their experimental batches and will only be available on draft at select Fort Collins locations and in bottle in the taproom.

Southern Front Range

Phantom Canyon Brewing (Colorado Springs) - If you were outside of the brewery early today you would have seen big flatbed trucks unloading new brewery equipment into the new brewhouse expansion. The expansion is coming along nicely and will soon be complete.

KB Kraft Beer (Colorado Springs) - With the change of seasons, some change is happening at KB Kraft Beer. Currently on tap is their Tropical Saison, Erroneous IPA, Sweet Wheat, Spring Blonde, Chocolate Oatmeal and their new porter - Jumbe Porter. Ten percent of all proceeds go to Bowling for Rhinos, helping preserve these majestic animals.
