Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, May 31st, 2013.

Metro Denver

Brewery Rickoli (Wheat Ridge) - Summer hours have officially begun at Brewery Rickoli. Starting today they will open at 12 noon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Their new summer hours are: Mondays 3pm - 9pm, Tues-Thurs 3pm - 11pm, Fri-Sat 12pm - 12am, and Sundays 12pm - 9pm. Stop in for a brew or two.

Prost Brewing Company (Denver) - You asked for it and now it's back! Prost Brewing announces the return of their Altbier (German for old bier). It's a light brown beer with a crackery malt flavor. It weighs in at 5% ABV and 37 IBUs. Ask for a pint the next time you visit.


Boulder County

Avery Brewing (Boulder) - For just the second time in their history, Avery Brewing is tapping a batch of their Bhakti Chai Brown Ale today in the Avery Tap Room at 5pm. This brew has organic ginger and fiery spices. It weighs in at 5.5% ABV and will be tap only.

Burning Can Festival (Lyons) - Don't forget tomorrow, Saturday, June 1st is the Burning Can Festival up at the Lyons Outdoor Games in Bohn Park from 4-7pm. Online ticket sales are done so you will need to get extra tickets at the gate for $35. Over 30+ brewerie who all offer craft beer in the can. Live music plus all the Lyons Outdoor Games around town too!

Northern Colorado

Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) - Time once again for Free Beer Friday! Starting at 2pm for 30 minutes and repeating at the top of every following hour until the keg is gone - Big Beaver will be pouring a free pint of Screw the Pooch Pale Ale today. Limit 1 pint per customer. This week's Blend of the Week is "Shaved Chubby" - a combo of Shaved Tail Ale and Rub-A-Chub Kolsch. Also, don't for get this Saturday, June 1st at 12:30pm in the parking lot it's the annual "Running of the Wieners" Dachshund Race and BBQ Benefit. Show them your Beaver (wear your Big Beaver gear that is) and get a free pint.

Black Bottle Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Good news hop lovers - a very limited batch of "Just a Minor Threat" is back on tap today. It's an Imperial IPA and then some. Get it while it lasts.

Southern Front Range

Trinity Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - Today marks the bottle release of Trinity's "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta!" - Obscur Noir. It's a black wild beer brewed with all golden adjuncts - local honey, golden raisins and mustard seed and inoculated with Brettanomyces. #gangstabeer

Bristol Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - Fox 21 News in the Springs did a video piece on the new Ivywild School tasting room for Bristol Brewing. Get an inside peak before you visit! If you can't view the video below then check it out on YouTube.


Mountains and West

Crazy Mountain Brewing (Edwards) - Today's Mutha-Firkin Friday firkin features a Black Cherry-infused Boohai Red Ale. Catch some starting at 5pm today. Try a new firkin every Friday all summer long!
