Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Leave the Office Early Day. It's all about encouraging you to take some time for yourself and relax and rest in an effort to improve your morale, attitude and overall productivity. After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. One way to relax is to head to your favorite taproom and unwind with a good craft beer. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, June 3rd, 2013.

Metro Denver

FATE Brewing (Boulder) and 12 Degree Brewing (Louisville) - today both breweries are releasing a collaboration beer at 11:00am and to be served at FATE Brewing. This beer is called Hommelbier. It's a Belgian-style IPA brewed by both head brewers Jeff Griffith (FATE) and Jon Howland (12 Degree).

Boulder County

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - Twisted Pine's 18th Anniversary Party is coming up on Saturday, July 13th from 2-7pm and tickets are now on sale for this big bash. They'll be serving up 30 different beers with unlimited samples, including some vintage beers. There will be live music and plenty of food trucks outside to satisfy your noms. Tickets available on EventBrite or at the ale house.

BRU Handbuilt Ales and Eats (Boulder) - Great news! Today marks the grand opening of BRU's new brewery, eatery & taproom at 5290 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder, Colorado. Previously, Ian Clark had been producing all of his ales from his garage at his home, but now his dream of opening up a gastro brewpub has finally come true. BRU will serve up their own line of craft beers and serve up urban American cuisine. The new place has seating for 59 indoors and 12 or so on an outdoor patio. Their doors open at 2pm today, June 3rd and June 4th and then will open at 11am 7 days a week starting on Wednesday. For a lot of pictures of the new place check out the Westword article.

Northern Colorado

New Belgium Brewing (Ft. Collins) - [PRESS RELEASE] - New Belgium Brewing has signed agreements with seven distribution partners in Florida with plans to start selling beer in the state July 29th, 2013. Gold Coast Distributing, JJ Taylor, Florida Distributing, Cone Distributing, Goldring Gulf, and Champion Brands are all Miller Coors houses while Daytona Beverage is in the AB network. New Belgium will roll 22-oz package of some of its core brands first – Fat Tire, Ranger, 1554 – along with seasonal and Lips of Faith offerings in July. Draft and 12-oz package will follow 60 days later in September. “Florida will be our 32nd state of distribution and it’s probably the one we've heard from most often about, ‘when are you all going get here?’” said New Belgium Florida Sales Director, Jeff Sipes. “A lot of us have friends and family in state so it’s a bit of a homecoming that way. We're excited.” New Belgium opened Alaska and Louisiana early this year.

Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - Grats to their first Pro-Am to enter into the Great American Beer Festival with Matt Smith! His double IPA took 1st place at the Liquid Poetry Slam, 3rd place in the Best of Show. Congrats, Matt. Verboten is looking forward to brewing with you.

Southern Front Range

Pikes Peak Brewing (Monument) - On Tuesday June 11th, Pikes Peak Brewing Company (PPBC) will be unveiling their "new look" at 6pm at the brewery. This is a new brand look they've come up with. Also, PPBC is celebrating their 2nd anniversary this month and will be hosting a Customer Appreciation BBQ on June 15th from 4:00pm to 6:30pm. There will be Free Brats and live music from Mark's Midnight Carnival Show at 7:00pm.

Trinity Brewing Company (Colorado Springs) - Trinity Brewing is planning three beer releases this month, one each of the 1st three Fridays of June. On June 7th it's a bottle release of "Ten Minutes of Pleasure", a Berliner Weisse brewed in collaboration with New Belgium. Then on Friday, June 14th, they'll release "Saison Man", a golden Belgian Ale in bottles. And on Friday, June 21st get ready for a "Elektrik Cukumbahh" bottle and draught release. All three releases will happen at 5pm on their respective Friday. Stock up on Fridays!

Mountains and West

Snowmass Mammoth Festival (Snowmass Village) - Remember the Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brewfest? Well, it's still on only with a new name. It's now called the Snowmass Mammoth Festival and it's bigger and better than ever. This year's event is happening on June 7th and 8th in the Snowmass Village Town Park. There will be a craft beer and specialty chili tasting as well as live music and many other activities. Check out the June calendar for details and links.
