Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day. Are you the kind of person who breaks things or makes a big mess in the kitchen? This is your day! It's OK to be a klutz today. Metro Denver

Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - It's been another busy year for Breckenridge and it's time to celebrate their 23rd anniversary. Breckenridge Brewery is hosting a 23 Anniversary Hootenanny this Saturday, July 13th from 12 noon to 6pm at their 471 Kalamath Street location in Denver, CO. The Hootenanny includes beer, BBQ, and live music from Head For The Hills, Colorado Goat Ropers Guild and Marty Jones & The Great Unknowns - plus some very special guests. Admission is $23 which includes 4 Breck beers, unlimited tasters of rare and unique beers, a BBQ lunch from the pig roast with all the fixins. Then enjoy $2 beers for the rest of the day. Denver Passport (Denver area) - Yesterday, a new drink deal was launched that spans across 56 different Denver-metro watering hole locations. It's called the Denver Passport. For $10, you get a drink "passport" which entitles you to 2-for-1 drink specials at dozens of Denver locations. To showcase this deal, the organizers are throwing a launch party this Sunday from 2:30pm - 7pm at Lola Coastal Mexican in Denver. Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - Don't forget! Tonight at 7pm there will be a beer and cheese pairing event at Copper Kettle. There will be multiple beer & cheese pairings for you to try. Tickets are $20 so ask at the brewery or visit In other news, CKBC finally got approval to build an outdoor patio out front. Look for the patio to be open sometime around mid-July.

Cannonball Creek Brewing (Golden) - The patio is open and they are now growing hops around the outside of the patio. There are some centennial, crystal, columbus and zeus hops how starting to climb the vines. Once fully grown they will add those to their future beers. Patrons are also allowed to bring their well behaved dogs onto the patio as well.

Boulder County

Crystal Springs Brewing Company (Boulder/Louisville) - It's official! The brewery without a taproom will finally be getting one. Today they took possession of their new building. The new location for their taproom will be at 657 S. Taylor Avenue in Louisville, Colorado. Stay tuned for word on when their grand opening will be.

Northern Colorado

Pateros Creek Brewing (Ft. Collins) - It's Thursday and with it comes a new Outlaw tap. Today they are tapping Blackberry Bramble - a blackberry vanilla porter. It's a taste that they are bringing back for another run. Get some while it lasts!

Equinox Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Today is a firkin day at Equinox and they've put up a firkin of Galaxy IPA dry hopped with, you guessed it, Galaxy hops and black peppercorns. Don't wait to try one.

Black Bottle Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Want to beat the heat? Stop in and try their PDA (Panty Dropper Ale). It's their Belgian Tripel and it's back on tap now. According to the brewer & owner Sean Nook: "Ladies... better than Matthew McConaughey with his shirt off!"

Crabtree Brewing (Greeley) - Expansion is happening at Crabtree. A new 800+ square foot barrel room is being built directly onto the back of their existing building. This new room will be host to over 140+ barrels and allow Crabtree to bring out even more wine barrel aged beers. Look for this new addition to be completed sometime in the next 4-5 weeks. A new brewhouse is also in the design stages, but look for that to happen in the next 2-3 years. In the meantime, come by to enjoy a full tap line of beer including the return of their award winning Berliner Weisse.

Colorado Brewers' Festival (Ft. Collins) - Are you looking for free admission to Colorado Brewers' Festival? Well fancy that, the festival organizers are still looking for some volunteers to help them out. If you are 21+ and want to volunteer to pour beer - sign up online.

Mountains and West

Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub (Salida) - Must be festival & outdoor season. So to prep for the crowds, Moonlight Pizza has recently built a brand new beer garden, upped their stockpile of craft beer they make, and had their kitchen store up a lot of food to feed the big crowds of spandex and neoprene-clad tourists and locals. Plus today they have a 2-for-1 margaritas!
