Colorado Beer News 062413

Colorado Beer NewsToday is Celebration of the Senses Day. We humans rely too much on our sense of sight. Take this day to try to listen to the sounds of nature or new music you haven't heard before, feel the wind and sun on your face, or take the time to smell something fresh and aromatic (like a good craft beer). Don't just rely on your eyes - let your other senses get a workout today. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Monday, June 24th, 2013.

Southern Front Range

Trinity Brewing Company (Colorado Springs) - Sour fans will want to take note that there will be a new sour beer released on July 12th called "7 Day Sour Vert Gueuze". It will be on tap then so be ready for a visit to get some.

Mountains and West

Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs) - Those of you planning to attend this weekend's Epic Beer Festival in Denver will be able to get a sneak preview taste of their upcoming new Engel Wiesse - a barrel fermented Berliner Weisse being released in July. It's a sessionable sour!

Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom (Colorado) - Recently, Old Chicago went through a rebranding, interior remodeling and has a new focus on craft beer. The rebranding and focus was the result of the slow recovery of the casual dining scene after the recession. About 75% of their sites have already gone through the change. Chain owner CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries Inc. isn't stopping with Old Chicago. Now they have plans to revamp their Rock Bottom and Gordon Biersch restaurants as well. Look for changes there as well in the near future. Look for a big focus on craft beer for all of these restaurants to try to capture the growth and popularity of craft beers. Also expect the number of locations nationwide to possibly triple in the near future.
