Colorado Beer NewsToday is Bike to Work Day here in Colorado. Keep that car in the garage and pedal your way to your workplace. Many breweries are setting up special stations today so that you can stop by on your way home and earn a little reward for using your muscles instead of gas to commute back and forth. Enjoy your ride, but please be careful on the roads today. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, June 26th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Beer By Design Brewery (Northglenn) - They may have just recently opened for business, but they are now planning to hold an official Grand Opening party on Friday, June 28th. Beer By Design Brewery will be doing a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 4:30pm followed by some fun, giveaways, plenty of craft beer and live music from Windsong at 7:00pm. Stop in and see what this new brewery is all about. Located at: 2100 E. 112th Avenue in Northglenn, CO.

Parry's Pizzeria & Bar (Highlands Ranch) - Join Parry's and Todd Thibault, director of marketing of Breckenridge Brewery at the Highlands Ranch location on Thursday, June 27th from 4pm to 7pm for their "Taste of Knowledge Night". They'll be tapping Breckenridge's Barrel-aged 471 with Mosaic hops and a Barrel-aged 471 with Citra hops. Todd Thibault will be talking about their beer and sharing his knowledge of brewing. If you can't make it Thursday night, then stop in on Friday night for a special Elevation Beer Company Pint Night from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. THey'll be pouring special brews from Elevation Beer Company. Boulder County

Twelve Degree Brewing (Louisville) - They've been doing soft openings recently, but quietly yesterday, Twelve Degree Brewing started serving beers to the public last night in Louisville, CO. They will be pouring beers Tuesday through Thursday this week from 5pm to 10pm and Friday from 4pm to 1:30am. And then on Saturday they will hold their official Grand Opening starting at 1:00pm. Stop by and enjoy one of their Belgian-inspired craft beers! They have a Summer Saison, Walter's White, Belgian Pale 'Hommel', and a Biere de Garde. They are located at 820 Main Street in Louisville, CO.

Oskar Blues (Longmont) - It's Bike to Work Day at the Tasty Weasel Taproom today! Get $1 off drafts with your bike helmet and the Oskar Blues Bonewagon has free fries with every burger! Check in with their folks at Bicycle Longmont, Gates Carbon Drive & REEB Cycles for more cool stuff throughout the day. Get out and ride! Plus over at Home Made Liquids & Solids you can get $2 off Dale's Pale Ale and Mama's Little Yella Pils cans when you bring in your bike helmet.

BRU Handbuilt Ales & Eats (Boulder) - BRU is also participating in Bike to Work Day. Ride your bike to BRU, show them your bike helmet and get $1 off pints today. Offer good all day June 26th, 2013.

Northern Colorado

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - City Star is teaming up with Harley, a tiny Chihuahua with a great big dream. Together they plan to help educate people while raising money for National Mill Dog Rescue so they can save more dogs. On June 30th they will host "Hops and Harley", an event that will help create awareness about the cruel realities of puppy mills. A special beer was brewed in Harley's name called Ol' One Eye Honey Wheat, and it's quickly become popular. T-shirts were designed with Harley's picture along with the phrase: Rescue your thirst for National Mill Dog Rescue! During the event on June 30th, $1 from every beer sold will be donated to NMDR along with all proceeds from t-shirt sales.

Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - Biking to/from work in Loveland? Stop at the station at Woodward (3800 N Wilson) and pick up free beer coupons and stickers for Bike to Work day. Look for the Loveland Aleworks tent. Also

New Belgium Brewery (Ft. Collins) - [Press Release] Come Enjoy New Belgium Brewing’s Clips Beer and Film Tour This Friday, June 28. New Belgium Brewing is bringing its beer-toting, film-traveling, nonprofit-benefiting show to your backyard. The nationwide tour is coming to Boulder on Friday, June 28 at Twenty Ninth Street Mall. Clips offers a venue where guests can try New Belgium’s most esoteric offerings while watching short films created by New Belgium fans. Up to 16 beer varieties will be on tap, including selections from the Lips of Faith series and some brewery classics. The best part is that 100 percent of beer sale proceeds on Friday night will go to Community Cycles ( Time: 8:00pm - Where: Twenty Ninth Street Mall - Boulder, CO. Cost: Free to attend - 3oz sample $1.25, 12oz beer $5.00. Bring a chair and your own food - families welcome.

The Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Ride in to FCB after work for Bike To Work Day beer specials from 4:00pm to 6:00pm today (June 26th).

Southern Front Range

Phantom Canyon Brewing (Colorado Springs) - According a blog post by, Phantom Canyon is almost done with their recent expansion. They've added much larger fermenters, plan to add more beers on tap and bottle even more of their beers, and open up a new upstairs patio above the new brewhouse with great views of the mountains. The new brewhouse should fire up their 1st batch very soon and the new patio could open as soon as July 1st!

Mountains and West

Ska Brewing (Durango) - It's a SKARAGE SALE! Ska is having a SUPER sale this Saturday morning, June 29th from 9am to 1pm. Stop in at their World HQ in Durango for discounted merchandise including t-shirts, hoodies, bike jerseys and more. Check out their employee garage sale too. Besides having lots of beer discounts, they'll have food (breakfast burritos and doughnuts early and burritos for lunch later) and live music from Elder Grown as well. It'll be worth getting up early for!
