Colorado Beer News 071113

Colorado Beer NewsToday is Convenience Store Day. It was on this day back in 1927 that the first 7-11 opened, and ever since America has been getting gas, drinks and snacks quickly on the go. Don't forget, many 7-11s are offering a free Slurpee today in honor of this day. Unfortunately (or is that fortunately) you can't buy anything but 3.2 beer at Colorado convenience stores, so be sure to stop at your local liquor store to stock up on craft beer for the weekend. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, July 11th, 2013.

Metro Denver

Former Future Brewing Co (Denver) - This upcoming Denver brewery has finally found a home and it's at 1290 South Broadway - along Antique Row. They will be within blocks of Wash Park, Platte Park, Old S. Pearl St., and Baker. Now the hard work begins on getting that facility ready for brewing and tasting. James & Sarah Howat plan to be open sometime in October, perhaps in time for the GABF. Can't wait to try their beers again.

Copper Kettle Brewing (Denver) - Today - one keg only - they've got a Nitro Imperial Red on tap. Get a pint while it lasts! Also tonight, July 11th at 7pm stop in for the Beer and Cheese Pairing event. $20 per person.

Crystal Springs Brewing (Boulder) - After releasing their Butch Pale Ale earlier this year in May to a great reception, Crystal Springs is planning to possibly put that beer into cans later this summer. If you can wait until November, then you'll be anxious to try their upcoming Bourbon Barrel Aged Black Saddle - a dark stout.

Very Nice Brewing (Nederland) - Tapping tomorrow, Friday July 12th is their Imperial IPA called "Imperial We IPA" - measuring at 7.8% ABV and 80 IBU.
