Colorado Beer NewsToday is Get Out of the Doghouse Day. Are you still in trouble from someone you care about? This day is your chance to rectify that situation. Buck up! Use this day to fix the situation and apologize, make up and get things back to normal. You might want to buy that person a craft beer too. If by the end of the day that person is still putting you in the dog house then you need to try harder or buy them another beer. Metro Denver

Dry Dock Brewing (Aurora) - Dry Dock fans! Head on over to Cedar Creek Pub in Aurora today for a Dry Dock Tap Takeover. This takeover will run til the kegs run dry. Cedar Creek Pub plans to have all ten taps dedicated to Dry Dock beers including: Honey Badger Blonde Ale, Captain's Common, Imperial Pumpkin, Tripel, Vanilla Porter, Apricot Blonde, Amber Ale, Hefeweizen, Double IPA, Hop Abomination.

Renegade Brewing Co (Denver) - Tonight at 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the brewery they will host their monthly Beer and Cheese pairing. Every 3rd Monday of the month Renegade and Marczyks Cheese Department pair up to bring you a night of hand-picked pairings and nerdy beer/cheese talk. Learn about the brewing and cheese making process and enjoy the combination of flavors. The night includes a 10 oz introductory beer and 4 pairings of cheese and 4 oz beer. Cost is $20 plus Eventbrite fees.

Coda Brewing Company (Aurora) - Plans are in place to open a new brewery this coming winter in a new building to be located near the Anschutz Medical Campus on the grounds of the old Fitzsimons Army base. Luke Smith and partner Scott Procop plan to make both bitter (IPAs) and sweet (fruit beers) as well as several other non-traditional beers. The building will be on Tuscon Way near Montview Boulevard.

Lone Tree Brewing Co (Lone Tree) - Growler Monday is today! Get $3 off a 64oz LTBC growler fill or get $1 off a 32oz LTBC half-growler. Here's to Monday!

Parry's Pizza (Highlands Ranch) - Every month, Parry's designates several beers as their "Parry's Pints" where you can get one of these special brews for just $3. This month's list includes: Sierra Nevada Brewing Company's Torpedo Extra IPA, Alaskan Brewing Co.'s Freeride APA, Elevation Beer Company's 8 Second Kolsch, Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy and their very own American Wheat, Landon's Wanna Walk Wheat. ‪#‎AleYeah‬ (Parry's Pizza is a sponsor of Fermentedly Challenged)

Prost Brewing Company (Denver) - Today for Growler Monday get 2 for 1 Growler fills and get double punches on your Growler card. Soon you'll be saying "why can't every day be Monday!"

Rackhouse Pub (Denver) - Sour month continues with some new beer tappings every day Tuesday through Saturday. Tue: Funkwerks. Wed: Avery. Thu: Dry Dock. Fri: Crooked Stave. Sat: AC Golden.

Boulder County

Twisted Pine Brewing (Boulder) - Just tapped in their taproom is "Hop Zealot" - a bitter blonde grain bill with an IPA hop schedule featuring New Zealand hops. This beer weighs in at 6.5% ABV and is just waiting for you to order one.

Pumphouse Brewery (Longmont) - This small brewery & restaurant is making room for the addition of several new serving tanks today. Four new ones were delivered and installed at the brewery today. That can only mean one thing - there's going to be room for a lot more beer on tap very soon!

Northern Colorado

Wiley Roots Brewing Co (Greeley) - Wiley Roots' official Grand Opening is this Saturday, July 20th from 12 noon to 11pm. Their address is 625 3rd Street Unit D, Greeley, CO 80631 - next door to Syntax Spirits. They will be serving 4 beers on opening day: a White IPA, an Amber, a Chocolate Porter, and an American Wheat. They also make a homemade root beer too! For the opening, they will have several food trucks on site: Mama Jeans (Angus burgers), Jam's Place (gourmet grilled cheese), and Contemporary Cook (pulled pork). There will also be an art show on premises. Starting July 20th their business hours will be: Wed-Thur 4pm - 9pm, Fridays 4pm - 11pm, Saturdays noon to 11pm and Sunday noon to 6pm. Closed Mondays & Tuesdays. This is Greeley's 3rd brewery besides Crabtree Brewing and Pitcher's Sports Shack.

City Star Brewing Company (Berthoud) - Grats to the brewing newlyweds! Owners Whitney Taylor and John Way got married over the weekend. Fermentedly Challenged want to wish the happy couple many many years of happiness ahead. Cheers to the married couple! Next time you see them in the taproom wish them well.

Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - One way to beat the case of the Mondays is to get $2 off a growler fill over at Loveland Aleworks. See, Mondays aren't all bad.

Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - Coming up on Wednesday for the ladies, Lauren Hoff will be hosting a Sensory 101 Tasting Class as part of the Verboten Brewing's Sisterhood meeting starting at 6:30pm. Cost is $10 for the class and includes a flight of 5 beers.

Patrick's Irish Pub (Greeley) - Monday Night (Dart) Bingo is tonight at 8:30pm! Show off your dart throwing skills and get a chance to win some tickets to a MOXI's show. Happy hour with 31 beers on tap. (Patrick's Irish Pub is a sponsor of Fermentedly Challenged)

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Grimm Brothers is preparing their Imperial Kottbusser style ale called "Magic Mirror" that will be released on Saturday, July 27th in honor of their 3rd Anniversary.

New Belgium (Ft. Collins) - Their 2nd brewery may not be opening for a couple of years yet, but that won't stop New Belgium from expanding. Today they announced that they will be expanding into Delaware on August 19, 2013. They will start with 22oz bottles first and then by October will offer 12oz bottles in packs.

Mountains and West

Tommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) - It may be the middle of summer, but already it's pumpkin beer season at Tommyknocker! Their "Small Patch Pumpkin Harvest Ale" is already back and being stocked now at local retailers. Must have been an early harvest this year!

Pug Ryan's Brewing (Dillon) - Stop by Pug Ryan's Lakeside Tiki Bar this Thursday, July 18th from 4-7pm for the 2nd Krystal 93 Tiki Bar Dock Party on the shores of Lake Dillon. Grab some friends head down to the best "dock" in Summit County and enjoy an award winning brew from Pug Ryan's or other tasty mixed beverages. Malibu drink specials, extended happy hour until 7pm and appetizer specials. You will also have the chance to win prizes from Kyrstal 93 FM including concert tickets to Red Rocks and register to win a Jameson Snowboard!

Deltarado Days (Delta) - This Thursday through Sunday in Montrose is Deltarado Days - embracing the present and celebrating the past. This is a family festival that also is featuring a Beer & Wine Garden featuring local craft beers on West Third Street next to the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce. Live music, dancing and the beer garden will be open from 6pm to 11pm on Friday and from 10:30am to 4pm on Saturday July 19 & 20. Plenty of other activities. Elevation Beer Company (Poncha Springs) - Just a reminder that this Sunday, July 21st their Tasting Room will be closed for a private event. So stop in this week Mon-Fri 2-8pm or Sat 12-8pm for a taste before then.

Kannah Creek Brewing (Grand Junction) - Today they have a firkin on tap and it's a hoppy Brown Ale. Stop in for a pint while it lasts.

Worldwide

Hops in the News (Germany) - A recent massive hailstorm on June 20th, 2013 in the northern Hallertau region (Germany) has devastated a large number of hop farms. Estimates of up to 3,000 tons of hops were lost in this one storm. Anywhere between 20% to 100% of crops in certain farms in the Hallertau area were affected. Higher prices ahead?
