Greeley to host Oktobrewfest 2013

Greeley Oktobrewfest 2013Now that Greeley is slowly turning into a craft beer brewing town, their annual Oktoberfest celebration is changing too. Today they announce a rebranding of their annual celebration into "Oktobrewfest". Here's the details from their press release issued today.

Greeley Oktobrewfest Celebrates New Tradition of Craft Beer

[PRESS RELEASE] Greeley, CO - Greeley’s iconic Oktoberfest celebration has been rebranded for 2013 as the Greeley Oktobrewfest to demonstrate the event’s growing emphasis on Colorado craft beer. The Greeley Oktobrewfest will offer 18 different craft beers on tap from 7 different Colorado breweries, including AC Golden, Black Bottle, Crabtree, Grimm Brothers, Odell, Oskar Blues, and Wiley Roots. Additionally, the VIP Beer Tasting is returning again for 2013, which will offer attendees samples of exclusive specialty beers.

Despite the new name, however, the Greeley Oktobrewfest still features many of the same traditions that have been a part of the event’s rich history, including live music, more than a dozen different food vendors, various arts and crafts vendors, a huge children’s area, stein lifting contests, pie eating contests, life-size beer pong, volleyball, and much more.

Greeley Oktobrewfest kicks off on Friday, September 27 from 5 - 10 pm, and continues on Saturday, September 28 from 11 am - 9 pm. Admission is free and beer tokens are $5 each. Commemorative ceramic steins with the new Oktobrewfest logo, created by local designer Steven Held, will be available for purchase at the event in both 1 liter and ½ liter sizes.
