After all, the weekend is upon us and you can always relax tomorrow and feel good knowing you got something big off your to-do list. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, September 6th, 2013. If you aren't reading this article on, you don't know what you're missing.

Metro Denver
Cannonball Creek Brewing (Golden) - Attention Foodies! Want to watch a filming of an episode of the Food Network's Eat Street? They'll be at Cannonball Creek on Saturday filming The Orange Crunch food truck. They'll be serving up a special menu to go with all those tasty Cannonball Creek beers. Get there by 3:30pm to get your place in line.

Craft Beer Fest (Westminster) - The Westminster 7:10 Rotary Club is hosting a Craft Beer Fest at The Ranch Country Club tonight, September 6th from 6-9pm featuring 18 breweries and 5oz pours. There will be Club Level Stadium Food, door prizes, commemorative tasting glass, insights from brewery staff on their beer and operations, even some craft distilled spirits. Proceeds support local Rotary Projects including: Computers for Kids, Young RYLA, Dictionaries for Third Graders and more. Visit for info and tickets.

Parry's Pizza (Highlands Ranch) - It's #KillTheKegs at their Highlands Ranch location today. Parrys needs to get rid of some beer to make way for their upcoming New Belgium tap takeover, tomorrow. Specials: Twisted Pine Brewing Company's La Petite Saison $2, Odell Brewing Co's, Amuste $3, Stone Brewing Co.'s, R&R Coconut IPA $4 and RuinTen IPA $5, as well as Dogfish Head Beer's, Indian Brown Ale $6.

Grandma's House (Denver) - Coming up in early 2014, a new collaborative brewery will be opening at 1710 South Broadway in Denver. This brewery will allow other breweries-in-development the opportunity to brew beer on their system and sell it in their taproom. Matthew Fuerst just took possession of the property this past week and plans to purchase equipment and start building out in the near future. Get ready for some crafty fun at Grandma's House! This effort was previously known as Whichcraft, but has changed names to Grandma's House. The name stems from the owner's affinity for collecting weird or tacky gift shop figurines that reminded him of decor in a grandma's house. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter or on the web at:

Former Future Brewing Co (Denver) - Their new kickstarter page is up and the quest to raise $20,000 in additional advanced equipment is on. They have until October 5th to raise the full amount. So far over $1000 in just 1 day has already been pledged. Take a look at their Kickstarter video below or view it on their Kickstarter page. They plan to open in Denver this fall.

Tour de Fat (Denver) - Don't forget tomorrow morning is the annual Tour de Fat bicycle parade and celebration in Civic Center Park. Registration starts at 10am and the parade starts at 11am. Bling out your bike to the max, dress up in something crazy and participate in a celebration of everything bicycles and beer. After the parade, stick around for some of the best live entertainment around from multiple stages across the park and try some of the best New Belgium beers. More info at:

Mountain Toad Brewing (Golden) - Today for their ribbon cutting event: "Hoppy Hour" - get $1 off all pints from 4-6pm!! Live bluegrass featuring the Kinghorn & Nicklin Quintet starts at 5:30pm and Texorado BBQ is cooking it up all evening.

Boulder County

Sanitas BrewingSanitas Brewing (Boulder) - Today is their OPENING DAY! Drop by at 3550 Frontier Avenue, Unit A in Boulder, CO today from 3pm to 10pm and welcome Boulder's newest brewery to town! Here's what's on tap: Sanitas Black IPA (6.5%), Sanitas Saison (5.1%), Train Beer #1 (3.8% session brew), Summer Snow White IPA (6.2%), and OSO Imperial Brown Ale (7.8%). They will also have their Black IPA on Nitro tap too. (Map)

Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - Boulder Beer is turning 34 years old! Colorado’s first craft brewery, will be celebrating their 34th Anniversary at their annual Anniversary Beer Rave on Saturday, September 7th from 2:00 – 6:00pm. The Beer Rave will showcase rare, “taproom only” draft beers from 34 outstanding Colorado breweries, in addition to 12 Brewer’s Choice specialty beers from the Boulder Beer brewers including barrel-aged, cask and pilot brews. Tickets cost $30 and are on sale at or in person through the Boulder Beer Pub. Guests can look forward to a casual, laid back day in the sun, tasting some of the most underground, experimental beers made in Colorado. More info at.

Kettle & Stone Brewing (Boulder) - The brewery is planning to release their long awaited Vindication Imperial IPA next Thursday, September 12th in their taproom. They will also have food available from A Savour Affair. Pair them up and enjoy! Taps open at 2:00pm.

Gravity Brewing (Louisville) - Gravity's 1 yr anniversary party is this Saturday, September 7th from Noon - 10pm. Food trucks, live music, several bbl aged beer releases including some Brett beers. Located at: 1150 Pine St Unit B Louisville CO 80027. Behind mountain high appliance and down under liquor in old town Louisville.

Big Choice Brewing (Broomfield) - Despite having their food truck cancel out on them, Big Choice will be tapping their Oktoberfest beer - "Ozapft Is!" today. Stop in for a pint of this malty, caramel brew.

Upslope Brewing (Boulder) - Today begins the inaugural First Friday Firkin at Upslope's Flatiron Park location. Today they will be tapping a firkin of their Hazelnut Brown - their award winning Brown Ale that was aged with hazelnuts. The tapping starts at 4pm. It's reportedly like having a Nutella beer!

Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado PBR Art Show (Greeley) - While this may not be honoring a craft beer, it's interesting to note that there will be an entire art show dedicated to Pabst Blue Ribbon beer at The Crvsh Room, 915 16th Street, in Greeley, CO tonight, September 6th, starting at 8:00pm. No cover and plenty of drink specials. All artwork will incorporate PBR branding. If you're a secret fan of PBR this event is for you.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Break out your drendils and lederhosen! Grimm's brought back their Oktoberfest lager - The Farmer's Daughter. This is one of their award winner brews. It'll be available on tap and in 22oz bottles. This returning fall favorite weighs in around 6.2% ABV.

Fall Harvest Festival (Ft. Collins) - Come drink beer and help save a dog. The 5th annual Fall harvest Brewfest will take place tonight from 7pm to 10pm at the Lincoln Center in Old Town Fort Collins. There will be about 40 breweries represented in a fundraiser for Animal House Shelter. Live music, food truck. Last year they raised $16K and hope to top that mark this year. There will also be micro-distilleries samples pouring as well. More info at:

Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - The brewery is on their last keg of "In Love with Summer", a strawberry rhubarb wheat. This is their last keg for the summer and you'll have to wait until next summer to get more. They will also have The Road Grill and their popular pulled pork nachos on site to tempt your hunger pangs.

Mountains and West

Steamworks Brewing (Durango) - For the 1st Friday firkin this month, their brewer Spencer created a little Tommy Knockoff. It's a combo of their Lizard Head Red, Backside Stout and a little maple syrup to create a Maple Nut Brown ale. It taps at 3pm today. $1 draws and $2 tankers of this until it's gone!

Beat the Heat BBQ, Brews & Chili Challenge (Alamosa) - Tonight and Saturday (Sept. 6-7) at Cole Park in Alamosa is this official Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned competition with beer. San Luis Valley Brewery will be complimenting the amazing food of these professional cookers with some tasty craft suds in Cole Park. More info:

Ska Brewing (Durango) - Tomorrow, September 7th from 3pm to 8pm is Ska Brewing's 18th Anniversary Party and Brewers Invitational. Ska will be kicking it up a notch and will have the English Beat headlining the show this year! Sample tasty brews from 25 of their closest brewery friends. Your ticket includes a commemorative tasting glass, beer, 3 live bands and lots of fun! Food vendors on site. Must be 21 or over. Event is Rain or Shine and NO REFUNDS. Tickets at:
