Colorado Beer NewsToday is Video Games Day. Embrace your inner nerd today and break out your video games and have some fun. Play them on your phone, your tablet, your PC or even on your big screen TV with a console. Whether they be the latest 3D super realistic kind or a retro 8-bit classic, have some fun with them today. After all, video games aren't just for kids anymore. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Thursday, September 12th, 2013. If you aren't reading this article on, you don't know what you're missing.

WIDESPREAD FLOODING IN BOULDER, DENVER, AURORA, ESTES PARK & LYONS. TRAVEL IS NOT ADVISED IN MANY AREAS. Please be careful if you venture out for a beer today. Many spots may be closed - call ahead. Rain is expected to continue until tomorrow.

Metro Denver

Colorado Plus (Wheat Ridge) - Today they are having extended Happy Hour today. Get $1 off on all 56 draft beers Thursdays from 2pm to 11pm. There's 56 beers on tap.

Diebolt Brewing (Denver) - The brewery will be open tonight from 4-9pm and they will have two new experimental ales on tap - a Golden Ale and a French Ale Anton Francoise on Lavender. Quantities are very limited.

Freshcraft (Denver) - Are you a fan of stouts? You've probably heard of the four seasonal stouts that Ska Brewing came out with during the last 12 months. Now Freshcraft will be hosting all 4 seasonal stouts on tap all at the same time. Come try the Ska Autumnal Mole Stout, Ska Hibernal Vinifera Stout, Ska Vernal Minthe Stout and Ska Estival Orange Cream Stout. Freshcraft will be tapping them all on Thursday, September 19th at 7pm. Be one of the first 24 people to order one of these stouts and get a free pint glass. Freshcraft will also have some great food specials and Vernal Minthe Ice Cream Floats available as well. Freshcraft is located at 1530 Blake Street in Denver, CO.

Boulder County

Due to the heavy flooding in Boulder County today, many breweries and businesses are closed and people are being asked not to venture out today. There's been 6 to 12 inches of rain in the last 12 hours. Please call ahead to any Boulder area brewery before you risk venturing out. The Chamber of Commerce is asking most businesses to close due to the flooding. Stay safe Colorado!

Sanitas Brewing (Boulder) - Due to the flood, their new Bocce Ball court was washed away outside. The brewery itself is OK and will open at 3pm for anyone who wants some warmth and a cold beer.

Fate Brewing (Boulder) - Due to weather conditions, Fate is closing today for the rest of the day. Stay safe!

Odd13 Brewing (Lafayette) - Despite the weather, Odd13 Brewing will be open normal hours today. No food truck tonight however. Bring in your food or order in.

Twisted Pine (Boulder) - In order to comply with the Boulder Chamber of Commerce's request, Twisted Pine will close today in order to aid the city's flood response and to help keep the roads clear. Many roads around town are closed and impassible.

Oskar Blues (Lyons/Longmont) - Severe flooding in the area around Lyons and Longmont today. Please do not attempt to drive through town today. All Oskar Blues locations are closed today due to weather.

Very Nice Brewing Co (Nederland) - Despite the local flooding in the surrounding county, locals will be glad to know Very Nice Brewing will be open today. They even plan to hold Open Mic Night tonight at 7:30pm.

Left Hand Brewing (Longmont) - Due to the flooding in the St. Vrain river directly behind the brewery, they have closed their tasting room today. All north to south traffic across Longmont is being blocked throughout town due to the river flooding. God save the beer!

J Wells Brewery (Boulder) - This brewery is also closing today due to the flooding. They hope to be back open tomorrow.

Upslope Brewing (Boulder) - They've decided to close both locations today due to the flooding. The Pumpkin Ale Release Party scheduled for today will need to be cancelled. Stay tuned for word on a rescheduling.

Avery Brewing (Boulder) - Due to dangerous conditions in the area, the Avery tap room will be shutdown today. Stay tuned for word about tomorrow as rain is expected to continue into tomorrow.

Shine Brewing (Boulder) - Shine opted to close at lunch time in order to get their staff home during these dangerous conditions today.

Twelve Degree Brewing (Louisville) - So far things are holding up at the brewery so they will be opening up at 4pm today and be open until 10pm. Float on over for a beer and pizza.

Kettle & Stone Brewing (Boulder) - They will be cancelling their Vindication release celebration this evening due to weather, but will still be pouring Vindication at 5pm tonight if you dare venture out.

Crystal Springs Brewing (Boulder) - Although they don't have a tasting room open yet, the brewery up in the foothills above Boulder is experiencing road flooding right outside their brewery. They can't get in or out today.

Northern Colorado

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - Even though the owners who live in Lyons are being hampered by local flooding up the canyon, they are able to open the brewery in Berthoud today. Happy Hour prices all day long.

Estes Park Brewery (Estes Park) - Severe flooding in town today and the parking lot at Estes Park Brewery is under water! No report yet on damage to the brewery. Please do not venture out in Estes Park today as many businesses and resident's are being evacuated from town. Please note US 34 up Thompson Canyon has washed out. Parts of the road is gone!

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Due to the weather, their Pints, Pistons and Prostates event for tonight has been cancelled. The taproom, however, is still open.

Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - Instead of Happy Hour, they are having Soggy Hour today. $1 off all beers today while it keeps raining.

Funkwerks (Ft. Collins) - If you have missed their previous cellar releases this week, you definitely do not want to miss today's! Funkwerks is releasing Provincial, a Belgian style Berliner Weisse and as well as Raspberry Leuven - a summer favorite! Quantities are limited, so hurry in and get a bottle.

High Hops Brewery (Windsor) - Come in out of the rain and try some of their new release "Peach Larone" today. This brew will remind you of a peach beermosa. Also, Chaulkboard Gourmet Express will be on site with meatball sandwiches and more.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Ft. Collins) - As part of their weekly Outlaw tap, today they will be tapping "Persephone's Ride", a Pomegranate Best Bitter. Stop in and hang out in their Outpost and play some games.
