Colorado Beer NewsToday is the 80th anniversary of Prohibition Repeal Day. Back on this date in 1933, the 21st Amendment was signed and thus repealed prohibition of alcohol (18th Amendment) in the United States. And ever since then, Americans have once again been able to legally enjoy their beer. For Colorado, they had already repealed prohibition on September 26, 1933. Some parts of Colorado, however, stayed dry until the the early 1970's! Head out to your favorite watering hole today and enjoy your right to drink beer. May Prohibition never happen again! Metro Denver

Winter Brew Fest (Denver) - Mark your calendars for January 24th and 25th as the annual Winter Brew Fest in Denver officially becomes a two-day beer festival! Tickets are available now. Organizers are also looking for people to be volunteers at the fest. If you would like to be a volunteer please register. Grist Brewing Co (Highlands Ranch) - This Saturday, Grist will be tapping an experimental beer that turned out awesome. They took their Touch Line Brown ale and added fresh toasted coconut. The chocolate and coffee notes blend well with the sweetness of the coconut. Try a pint this Saturday, December 7th. It taps at noon. This is a limited batch so don't miss out.

Saint Patrick's Brewing Co (Denver) - Their Midnight Mocha Lager, a 6.2% ABV honey milk schwarzbier, returns for another run today. Plus, they're brewing up even more today as well. Come get some.

Westminster Brewing Co (Westminster) - Plan on visiting this new brewery during their Grand Opening weekend? (December 6, 7, 8) Then before you go, visit their Facebook page and bring in a copy of their Facebook Grand Opening Special graphic and you'll get 20oz pints for $5.50 and Growler fills for $10. Valid opening weekend only. Visit them at: 7655 W. 108th Ave, Unit 600 in Westminster, CO.

Big Choice Brewing (Broomfield) - Tomorrow, December 6th, Big Choice will be tapping another keg of their Peppermint Stout at 3pm. They will tap another keg each Friday this month. Due to the limited nature of this beer, no growler fills of this one will be given. Fill up on some food from Orange Crunch.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - Today at 2pm there will be a very limited 10 gallon batch of a Brewers Limited Reserve tapping of their Chile Golden Ale. With just enough heat to keep you warm on this frigid day.

Diebolt Brewing (Denver) - Sign up for their Bottled Lightning Club. How do you bottle lightning? In 2014, Diebolt will be working on a series of small batch bombers just for the lucky 100 who sign up as members. Over the year you'll receive 12 bombers, and a special gift, for $125. That's just around $10 per bomber! To join the bottle club, come by the brewery to sign up. They'll be giving away a membership at the Swanky Seasonal (Dec 7th 6-10pm) and Festivus (Dec. 14th), so be sure to get your name in the hat at both events.

Golden City Brewery (Golden) - In addition to their flagship beers, Golden City also puts out some wonderful seasonal beers. Right now, they have 3 big seasonal beers for you to try including: Blackstrap Strong, an English Strong Ale (7.3% ABV), Centurion Barleywine (10% ABV), and a returning favorite: Stand-up Double IPA (9.2% ABV). These big brews are available in pints only (sorry no pitchers) or in growlers.

Mountain Toad Brewing (Golden) - Today is the release date for their Yule Hop IPA. It has a big hoppy aroma that'll remind you of cutting down your own pine tree. Perfect for this holiday season.

Barrels and Bottles Brewery (Golden) - Come try the coffee and nutmeg infused Epic Brewing Company Mid Mountain Mild Ale. Also, the Elevation Beer Company tap takeover is tonight 4pm til 10pm. The first 36 people get an Elevation logo pint glass. Also, come and support Oskar Blues Brewery CAN'D AID Foundation there tonight, with 15% of their sales being donated.

Boulder County

West Flanders Brewing Co (Boulder) - According to rumor, their 3rd Kingdom IPA has so much hop goodness in it that it clogged their tap line, but fear not. The issue is resolved and this beer is flowing again. Whenever the temperature is below 20 degrees it's Happy Hour. So it looks like Happy Hour will last all day today with $3 IPAs.

Upslope Brewing Co (Boulder) - Every Friday at 2pm they celebrate with a firkin at their Lee Hill Road location. This Friday they will be tapping a special firkin of Raspberry Christmas Ale. It's one way to start your weekend off right.

Very Nice Brewing Co (Nederland) - Head to the Ned today for Prohibition Repeal Day and celebrate with a pint from their new tapping of Porter dl los Muertos, a porter imbued with roasted green chilis, a bit of smoke and dark roasted malts. This brew taps at 4pm today.

Oskar Blues (Lyons) - Don't forget, tomorrow is their 11th CANiversary party at Oskar Blues Grill & Brew in Lyons. There will be special tappings of ODB Barley Wine, The White Buffalo IPA & more! Plus, a kickass show featuring Rocktin Grove & West Water Outlaws kicks off at 8pm. Come grab a drink and then stick around and grab tix to the show.

Northern Colorado

Equinox Brewing (Ft. Collins) - The line of Thursday firkins continues today with a winter flare. In another of their Snow Capped Series - Equinox will tap a firkin of Borealis Winter Ale that was conditioned with Ceylon Cinnamon sticks. The glasses will be "snow capped" with cinnamon sugar. It taps at noon today, December 5th.

Odell Brewing (Ft. Collins) - The CSU Brewing Science and Technology class, along with Odell Brewery, just released their annual class beer. It is called "Stache On" and is considered a strong ale. Stop by today to try their beer on draft!

Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - Celebrate the 80th anniversary of Prohibition Repeal at FCB today. They will be offering 80 cent half pints of FCB production brews and 80 cent Asian chicken wings. Due to a private event in the tasting room at 2:30pm, they will move this celebration over to Gravity 1020 and continue the special 12pm to 8pm.

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - City Star is your Northern Colorado location for live music. Lots of traveling musicians this week! You Knew Me When from Nashville, TN plays this evening 6-9pm. Tomorrow Texas Express bring us bluegrass and country, a trio hailing from Ecuador, Maryland and Texas. Come in out of the cold and warm your heart with a beer and good tunes.

Pateros Creek Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Love beer? How about a $1 beer? Yup, $1 beer. Tonight starting at 6:30pm at PCBC you can get pints of Old Town Ale for just a buck, plus you can get $1 off all their other beers tonight as well. In addition, they will host Geeks Who Drink Quiz-a-versary tonight for prizes.

Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - For Prohibition Repeal Day today - come in tonight and enjoy $4 Angry Banjos - a pre-Prohibition American beer style! They are open from 3pm to 9pm and they know you are sick of sitting on your couch. Come celebrate beer!

Southern Front Range

Pikes Peak Brewing (Monument) - There will be live music this Saturday, December 7th at 6pm with Mark's Midnight Carnival Show! Dress like an Elf and win prizes! This concert will benefit Play Date, a non profit helping families with disabled children.

Mountains and West

Revolution Brewing (Paonia) - Did you know that Paonia's got talent? Yup, and to prove it they are hosting an open mic night tonight. Stop in for a brew and show off your hidden talent.

Horsefly Brewery (Montrose) - Anyone can offer you a buck off a beer, but how many can offer you a beer for a penny? Tonight is Penny Pint Night. If you order a burger then your first pint is only 1 cent! Next best thing to being free. Today only (12/5/2013).

Carver Brewing Company (Durango) - Come celebrate both the 80th Anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition and the 25th Anniversary of Carver Brewing Company. They have $2.50 pints of their 25th Anniversary Amber now on tap.

Aspen Brewing Co (Aspen) - Come get some 10th Mountain Oatmeal Stout. On tap today in Aspen and all across Colorado in bombers and draft starting on Monday, December 9th.
