Barley's Angels Founds Colorado Chapter

Barley's Angels ColoradoCraft beer clubs for women are growing in popularity across America and here in Colorado there's a new choice for women in the Denver and Boulder areas. Say hello to Barley's Angels, an international women's craft beer organization that is announcing their new Colorado chapter.

Deborah Cameron, Colorado chapter organizer, has sent out a press release announcing their plans for their first couple of meetings. This organization is connected to the Pink Boots Society, though it now acts entirely as it's own organization, it still retains access to leading female brewers and beer professionals. Sets First Events for January 27th in Denver and January 29th in Boulder

Colorado’s women beer enthusiasts have a new reason to rejoice!

Barley’s Angels, the international organization for women who enjoy craft beer, is opening a new chapter in Colorado. The chapter will be a roving chapter, visiting new taprooms along the Front Range each month. Initially, one meeting per month will take place in the Denver area and one will take place in the Boulder area.

It’s no secret that the Colorado craft beer industry is growing. At the same time, women are turning to beer in record numbers. Now women who are excited about craft beer can meet others who share their interest while exploring the variety of styles that are proudly served here.

Meetings are typically scheduled for the fourth Monday (Denver) and Wednesday (Boulder) of each month at 7pm and tickets are available at Kickoff meeting details are as follows:

* The first meeting in Denver is scheduled for Monday, January 27th at Wynkoop Brewing Company, 1634 18th St. in Denver. The meeting will include a set of three food bites and beer taster pairings from the brewery presented by Bess Dougherty, Wynkoop’s first full time, female brewer.

* The first meeting in Boulder is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29th at Sanitas Brewing Company, 3550 Frontier Ave. Unit A in Boulder. At this meeting, Cheese educator John Scaggs of Haystack Mountain Goat Cheese will lead a beer pairing class featuring Sanitas beers. The class features a set of four tasters that will he will pair with the cheese.

Meetings are designed to be roaming meetings, going to a different location each time, so that members can experience a wide variety of craft beers -- and taprooms -- that are available to brew fans in Colorado.

Each meeting includes a set of 3 - 4 beer tasters (4 or 5 oz. each) paired with a food taster to match. There will also be a presenter and a discussion at each meeting. Over time, if there's interest, other activities such as beer dinners, brewery tours or outdoor activities like bike rides paired with brewery stops, will be developed.
