Colorado Beer NewsToday is Celebration of Life Day. It's a day to step back and appreciate our world's children and grandchildren. Take some time today to spend some quality time with a child and treat them to something fun or exciting. The time you spend with a child will be well worth it and help build some wonderful memories for them. When was the last time you looked at life through a child's eyes? Metro Denver

Dad & Dude's Breweria (Aurora) - This week they've got a Toffee Porter added to the taps. It's highly sessionable at just over 4% ABV and 30 IBUs. They've also got Dank IPA, Liquid Resume Pale Ale, Fathom Amber Ale, Muffin Top IPA and Sweet Sassy Molassy Brown Ale available along with 5 guest beers on tap including 1 hard cider. What is your favorite Dad & Dude's beer to pair with their pizza?

Colorado Plus Brew Pub (Wheat Ridge) - This Friday, January 24th, Colorado Plus is doing a mini-tap takeover of their own beers! Brewer Adam will have 5 unique Colorado Plus house creations on tap. Stop in and try them out.

Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (Denver) - Coming up on Tuesday, January 28th at 5pm, Crooked Stave will be hosting a Bottle Release event for their "Batch Number 60 Wild Wild Brett". This is a 100% barrel fermented Brettanomyces dry hopped American wild ale. The hops used for dry hopping with this batch were Amarillo and Citra. There will be a bottle limit and will be a CASH only sale.

Arvada Beer Company (Arvada) - Today at the brewery they have 10 beers on tap and will be hosting Happy Hour from open til 2pm and 4pm to 7pm. This week's Wednesday special is their Double IPA. Get $3 snifter of that all day (included tax).

Elk Mountain Brewing (Parker) - Now on tap - Coconut Stout. It's a beer that will reportedly improve your health if you follow coconut lore.

River North Brewery (Denver) - Happy Wayward Wednesday! Now on tap: the original RNB barrel-aged brew, number one in their barrel series - Whiskey Barrel J. Marie! Also available today: Matt's Snack Shack wings and grilled cheese! Plus, once the Whiskey J Marie keg kicks, they'll tap a fresh batch of Avarice Imperial Stout, kegged today!

Beer By Design Brewery (Northglenn) - Today the brewery is tapping the Bad Dog Doppelbock today. This wonderfully aged bock beer has a warm caramel and malty lager flavor with hints of a banana and clove. Get it while it lasts. Drink this big beer responsibly at 7.5% ABV.

Golden City Brewery (Golden) - Did you know that GCB is also going to be a winery too? They are still working on licensing and they realized it will require a separate structure to make the wines. They had planned on room in the new cooler, but beer has taken over ALL of the space. They hope to have the winery up and running in a couple of months.

Odyssey Beerwerks (Arvada) - Another in the line of Discovery Beers goes on tap today at 5pm. Stop in and try their Ugli Fruit Saison. It's made with grapefruit, orange and tangerine. Food truck tonight is: Bubba Duke's BBQ at 5pm and live music from Bill McKay starting at 6:00pm.

Boulder County

Avery Brewing Co (Boulder) - Earlier this week on Monday, Avery Brewing finally broke ground on their new $27 million brewery at 4910 & 4920 Nautilus Court in Boulder. This new facility will be over 96,000 square feet initially and will be built in three phases. The first phase should be completed by early 2015, about 12 months from now. This new location will allow Avery to greatly increase production and have a huge 5.6 acre site to play on including a restaurant, gift shop, brewery, outdoor garden and offices. The new facility will eventually have the capacity to brew up to 500,000 barrels a year.

Echo Brewing Co (Frederick) - Today Echo Brewing has their Razz Raspberry Wheat back on tap. If you get hungry, they have Hot Dog Jimmy's on site serving up food from 5pm to 8pm tonight.

Northern Colorado

Wiley Roots Brewing (Greeley) - Don't forget, the Celebration of Dark Beer continues this month and tomorrow, Thursday January 23rd they will tap their new Hazelnut Porter. This is a limited edition batch and will only be on tap for a short time. A new dark beer will be tapped weekly through February 12th.

Odell Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - There's a new Golden Ale brewed with funky Brettanomyces coming soon from Odell called "Fifty Niner - Brett Golden Ale". This is an oak-aged brew that commemorates the Colorado gold rush of 1859. According to the label, this beer has "hints of lemon zest and pear accentuated by a rich vanilla and almond oak character and subtle earthy spiced pineapple Brett finish." This beer will be available in 750ml cork-n-cage bottles. No word just yet on a release date - so stay tuned.

Odell Fifty Niner Brett Golden Ale

The Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - FCB is planning to expand distribution into Maryland starting in early February. The brewery is expanding into this state to help boost their brand and reach even more customers.

Crabtree Brewing (Greeley) - They finally are caving in to pressure, but just for 1 day only. For the BIG GAME on Sunday, February 2nd, Crabtree will have a big TV in the tap house. Come watch the game at Crabtree and drink some great beers with them. They'll stay open until the games over. More details coming soon. The TV will be gone the next day.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Today is Wednesday so that means Traveling Growler Day returns. Get $2 off growler sales today and if you bring in a growler from a BOULDER brewery then you will be in a chance to win a free pint.

Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - Happy Hour runs on Wednesdays from 3pm to 6pm where you'll get $1 off pints. Stop in also from 6-8pm tonight to play Name That Tune with Franklin Taggart and get a chance to win a free Growlette and fill.

Patrick's Irish Pub (Greeley) - Get $2 off all 20oz hard ciders all day today. Join in later tonight for Open Mic night starting at 9pm.

Southern Front Range

Trinity Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - This week's beer release is happening on Friday, January 24th at 5pm when Trinity will release "Passed Stout", an imperial stout. Just in time to keep you warm during the colder months of Winter! It's body is huge, it's dark malt character is huge, it's hop profile is gigantic, and it's ABV is enormous. It's basically everything you would expect from a noteworthy Imperial Stout and more. They aged this beer on fresh Madagascar Vanilla Beans, Dagoba Cacao Nibbs, and French Oak. It weighs in at 11% ABV.

Pikes Peak Brewing (Monument) - Good news! Their "Gold Rush" Belgian Ale is now back on tap. Plus, they are now serving it in special logo glasses. This year-round brew weighs in at 8.7% ABV and has notes of honey, clove and baking spice.

Mountains and West

Steamworks Brewing Co (Durango) - If you happen to be at Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory) this Friday, January 24th, stop in Purgy's for a "Meet the Brewers" session with the brewers from Steamworks. They'll be talking beer and doing some giveaways and pouring some cold craft delights from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. It's a great apre-ski way to unwind, drink some beer and learn about how a local Durango brewery does it.

Carver Brewing Co (Durango) - Wednesday is Burger n' Beer Day at Carver Brewing. Get a free beer with any regular priced burger today.
