38 State Brewing Company is looking for a brewery manager who possesses an intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality, strong sense of urgency, and commitment to achieving results. Strong judgment and professional maturity is a must. Excellent problem solving skills and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish the goals and mission of 38 State Brewing Company.

 Knowledge of brewing equipment and brewing methods/process.

 Can manage operations of the venue, which includes daily decision-making, flexibility, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling and effective planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.

 Actively listens to server/guest interaction and directs staff accordingly.

 Ensures that the venue is properly staffed to par, at all times. Plans accordingly and proactively hires seasonal help as dictated by weekly sale reports.

 Engages with the guests during every shift and expects the same from all employees.

 Conducts and collaborates timely Performance Reviews with hourly staff.

 Expects and leads strong communication with all areas of the venue - including daily shift meetings with all staff members to keep them up to date on new promotions.

 Maintains an upbeat presence on the floor during operations and away from the office.

 Maintains the expected ambiance (lighting/sound/temperature levels/presentation) and coaches all staff members to hold that standard at all times.

 Ensures a safe working and guest experience environment to reduce the risk of accident, injury and product handling related issues.

 Ensures that proper security procedures are in place to protect staff members, guests and company assets.

 Follows the company standard interviewing and hiring procedures.

 Controls the inventory process by managing ordering/receiving and invoice accuracy.

 Accurately performs staff checkouts, following company expectations and proper/safe money handling. All payments are accounted for (cash and credit vouchers), with all comps being verified by the owner on site.

 Ensures that all staff (permanent and seasonal) has been properly versed on tip declaration.

 Ensures proper cash handling procedures are followed, including preparing and balancing cash drawers, completing End of Day Reports and cash drops.

 Actively participates in manager meetings with ownership.

 Consistently maintain high performance standards.

 Engage in a work week of 45 – 50 hours; during higher volume seasons heavier work weeks may be expected.
