West Flanders Brewing Co (Boulder) - When brewers bet on the Big Game and lose, there's bound to be consequences. To honor their bet, this Sunday West Flanders will welcome Elysian brewer Kevin Watson to the brewery, where he'll make a payback batch of beer called "Boom! IPA". The beer will be built with a blend of Citra, Mosaic, Chinook and experimental hops and will weigh in around 7% ABV. "It's gonna be a hoppy, assertive, but super-quaffable Northwest IPA," says Elysian co-founder David Buhler. "It'll go ‘boom!’ on your palate." They think it’ll be rich and glorious enough to wash away the bitter taste of defeat. The beer will go on tap at West Flanders, with the Seahawks flag flying, on Thursday, March 6 at 5pm. Mr. Buhler will be on hand for the tapping, and Seahawks and Denver Broncos fans are invited. [1125 Pearl St., Boulder, CO]
