Colorado Beer News 021814

Colorado Beer NewsToday is Pluto Discovery Day. Back on this day in 1930, Clyde Tombaugh discovered this tiny planet in our solar system. It was later in 2006 that astronomers later reclassified Pluto as a dwarf planet. It is the largest known object in the Kuiper Belt and is the 10th most massive body orbiting our Sun. And in 2015, the New Horizons space probe will reach Pluto and send back photos of it and the 5 moons. Can you name them? Charon, Nix, Kerberos, Styx and Hydra. Cheers to this frosty outer world! Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Tuesday, February 18th, 2014. If you aren't reading this article on FermentedlyChallenged.com, you don't know what you're missing.

Metro Denver

Alcohol Laws (Colorado) - Apparently an effort to extend bar hours in Colorado from 2am to 4:30am failed yesterday in the Colorado House as lawmakers didn't feel it had enough support to pass. The bill will go back to the drawing board. Opponents claimed this bill would have led to even more drunken driving. Supporters wanted to avoid having massive crowds exiting bars at the same time and having extended hours for drinking would help avoid that mess which seems to be a problem in cities like Denver. So for now, bars will still be required to stop serving alcohol by 2am.
