Colorado Beer News 021914

Colorado Beer NewsToday is Single Tasking Day. In a world where multitasking has become the expected norm, today is the one day to take a step back, evaluate what's really important and do just one task at a time - and specifically the task that we feel is most important to ourselves. If your life seems a bit too complex, then simplify things a bit and focus on doing one thing well at a time. Make sure that one of those tasks today include sitting back and enjoying a refreshing craft beer at the end of your day. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, February 19th, 2014. If you aren't reading this article on, you don't know what you're missing.

Metro Denver

Falling Rock Tap House (Denver) - Falling Rock reports that their shipment of Pliny the Younger arrived on time yesterday and that the first tapping is set for TONIGHT at 6pm. Here's what their website states: "We will be operating as normal leading up to the tapping so come in early for a table. As with recent PTY trappings tickets will be passed out on a first come first serve basis. Beth will come around to tables and patrons already inside the bar first to make sure you get your ticket so please do not ask the bartenders or servers, they won’t have tickets. One ticket per customer, no you can’t get it for your friend who isn't there yet but is on their way. If you have a ticket and a table, stay seated your server will bring you your beer. If you don't have a table we will announce when the line will form. We use two different colors of tickets: the first color means you WILL get a PTY, so chill out, no shoving to get in line, it’s all good. The second color means you MAY get a PTY, we hope but are not sure, and will be called to line up after the first round of tickets is complete. The last thing to remind you of is simple; either have a tab open or pay cash, the staff will not close out any credit cards while we are still pouring the keg. It takes too long and prevents others from getting their beer in a timely manner and no one wants to be that guy right? Once the keg blows and the line is finished the staff will be available to close out tabs." - They will also have tappings on Saturday, Feb. 22nd and Sunday Feb. 23rd at 1pm each day. Kannah Creek Brewing Co (Grand Junction) - [PRESS RELEASE] Kannah Creek Brewing Company has just released the inaugural bottling of the Crossed Irons Irish Ale. A portion of the Crossed Irons bottle sales will go directly to the Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund- Colorado Chapter (Terry Fund). The Terry Fund uses donations to help firefighters injured or killed in the line of duty, a firefighter family member that is sick or has an ambition to get a college education, or the fund might provide resources for a smaller volunteer department with no money for training or equipment. All of the money raised by this chapter stays in Colorado. “Without generous donations from friends of the fund like Kannah Creek Brewing Company we would be unable to fulfill our mission of supporting Colorado firefighters and their families with educational, medical, and equipment needs,” explains board member, Doug Lee. The Crossed Irons is a traditional red ale with medium malt body and light hop bitterness. It has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 5.2% and an international bittering unit (IBU) of 30.
