Colorado Beer NewsFriday has arrived at last. Are you ready for the weekend? Colorado breweries are gearing up for another busy weekend ahead and there are plenty of new beer tappings and events for you to enjoy. While today may not be any special holiday, here's something to think about - there's only 24 days until St. Patrick's Day! Now, go start your weekend! Metro Denver

Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - Fan's that got to try their Barleywine Batch #1 up in Vail during the Big Beers Festival will be glad to hear that Breckenridge Brewery has decided to bottle and release that Barleywine on March 15th. This big beer will be available in 22oz wax-coated bomber bottles. Read the Press Release issued today to find out more about this beer. [471 Kalamath St., Denver, CO]

Vine Street Pub & Brewery (Denver)- Today they have tapped their "Casual Friday Stout" to help celebrate the start of the weekend at the Vine Street Pub & Brewery. This "session" stout is described has having notes of coffee and chocolate balanced by American hops, making this beer flavorful while still being refreshing. Brew & Stew (Denver) - There's a new beer festival & fundraiser coming up on Saturday, March 8th from 6pm to 9pm called "Brew & Stew". It's an "All You Can Eat & Drink" event that is geared to support Hope House of Colorado. It will take place at the Highlands Masonic Center in Denver. The fest will feature beers from 7 craft breweries, a homebrew competition, live music, plenty of food and a raffle for some great items. Two22 Brew (Centennial) - Don't forget their Grand Opening tomorrow, 2/22 at noon til 10pm. They plan to open with 5 beers on tap and hope to have a 6th beer ready by mid-afternoon. The opening festivities will continue into Sunday. They'll have East Coast Joe's Food Truck and Freddy's Cuisine on hand serving up food. Starting at 7pm they'll also have live music running til 9pm. Then on Sunday, stop back in for more. Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs will serve food that day. Try to park on S. Flanders St. just to the east of us and use the stairway to walk down! Station 26 Brewing Co (Denver) - Tonight stop in for beer and listen to live music. Crock Spot will be on site serving up food. And don't forget this Sunday, Feb. 23rd they will be tapping 3 different kegs of coffee stouts. Just 5 gallons of each and all of them are awesome. [7045 E. 38th Ave., Denver, CO]

53 Peaks Brewing Co (Englewood) - Not good news for this brewery trying to open. Due to an Englewood Fire Code law, they are again taking a step back because they can't afford the renovation to make the location work. It has been a frustrating battle for them and they've taken their fair share of falls and keep coming back strong. 53 Peaks is working extremely hard to get you their beer, but for now the chips aren't stacking up in their favor. No good adventure is complete without some bruises and falls and a hell of a story to tell. The 53 Peaks tale will continue. Updates to follow.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant & Brewpub (Arvada) - Here's a seasonal beer that takes 3 times longer to make than their traditional beers. (Yakety Yak) Don't Talk Bock, a Bavarian-style Bockbier, is due to return just in time for Fat Tuesday, March 4th at 4pm. An ordained minister is going to lead those in attendance with the "Blessing of the Bock" at 5pm. So plan to get your glass filled before the blessing. Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery (Denver) - Coming up in just over a week, Jagged Mountain is throwing their official Grand Opening Party on Saturday, March 8th. They'll be releasing 3-4 beers throughout the day including two beers with experimental hops. They'll have food-beer pairings, and will be raffling off swag, brewery tours/tastings, and the opportunity to call your shot with a future pilot system beer (you choose the style and get to pick the name). Copper Kettle Brewing Co (Denver) - There's a surprise firkin tapping today. Stop in for a glass of their Lavender English Mild. ALso, Dogtown Concessions will be on site starting at 4pm serving up fresh food. Celebrate Friday! [1338 S. Valentia St #100, Denver, CO]

Hall Brewing Co (Parker) - Don't forget tonight's event! A Beer and Chocolate Pairing at Hall Brewing Company featuring Five 6oz pours & 10 chocolates. The event runs from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and cost $25 per person. Just show up! [10970 S. Parker Rd., Parker, CO]

Odyssey Beerwerks (Arvada) - Their new "Phantom" Oatmeal Stout is now on tap, along with 11 of it's new friends - including the last few gallons of Don't Pout Stout and Eye of Ra Golden Strong Ale. Can't Stop Brewing (Denver) - Today at the Northwest Beer & Wine Fest, Can't Stop Brewing will be pouring in their very first event. While the brewery may not be open for business, the brewers have been busy perfecting their recipes and will pour some at the fest tonight. Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids & Solids (Longmont) - Fans of Pliny the Younger take note! OBHMLS will be tapping a keg of Pliny the Younger on Sunday, March 2nd at 3:30pm. Twisted Pine Brewing Co (Boulder) - Today their kicking off Fresh Tapped Friday with their Wind Shear Wheat, a Belgian-style Wheat Ale. Also - Save the Date! On Thursday, March 27th Twisted Pine will be hosting their second annual Blind Beer Tasting. This is an event in which they blindfold all the participants and serve 5 beer pours paired with small bites provided by local cheese shop Cured. Gerry Leary, blind owner of the Unseen Bean, will be hosting the event and providing pro tips on using the other senses to fully experience tasting. More details to come soon. The Post Lil Brewer BuddyThe Post Brewing Co (Lafayette) - The brewery is hosting a quarterly brewing competition called "Lil' Brewer Buddy" and all homebrewers are welcome to submit their best beer for a chance to collaborate and have your beer brewed along with brewmaster Bryan Selders. Drop off 2 bottles of your most prized home brew at The Post by February 28th. Label the bottles with your name, beer name, ingredients, and your preferred contact info. The winner, announced March 8th, gets a day with Bryan Selfers to collaborate, create and brew a beer. Also, you'll get dinner for you and your family (max 6 ppl) with all the fixin's. Tap and Handle (Ft. Collins) - Join in this coming Monday night, Feb. 24th, as Zach Weakland from High Hops Brewery will be on hand for a special High Hops Pint Night at Tap and Handle. Odell Brewing (Ft. Collins) - This Sunday, February 23rd from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Odell will host a release party for their Tree Shaker Imperial Peach IPA.
