Metro Denver

Big Choice Brewing (Broomfield) - On March 17th, St. Patrick's Day, Big Choice will be releasing some brewhouse debauchery in the form of "ApreShred Winter Ale - Bourbon Barrel-Aged Beer". This brew will be released in bomber bottles. This is a big 8.2% ABV amber ale brewed with cinnamon, ginger root, vanilla, orange peel and honey and one that will certainly make your St. Patty's Day. Also that day, they will be tapping their Red Ale on the nitro tap. It may not be an Irish Red, but they say it's darn good! Then look forward to trying their collaboration beer that they brewed up with CAUTION: Brewing for the Collaboration Fest - "Ain't Yo Mama'a Breakfast Porter". Westminster Brewing Co (Westminster) - Their Irish Ale is back on tap and they now have four cask ales being served including: WBC Imperial Stout, 1066 English Bitter, Moses Chocolate Porter and WBC Irish Ale. Food trucks will be on hand Friday 5-8pm (Pizza) and Saturday 4-8pm (BBQ). Plus, live music Friday 6-9pm and Saturday 5:30pm - 8:30pm. [7655 W 108th Ave, Westminster, CO]

2014 Denver International Beer Competition

World of Beer (Cherry Creek) - World of Beer Cherry Creek is celebrating Mardi Gras with a very special tapping of Russian River’s Pliny the Younger and an authentic Louisiana crawfish boil on Tuesday, March 4th at 5pm. Brewed in Sonoma County, California, Pliny the Younger is a very rare “triple” IPA with a 10.25% ABV. This year’s recipe includes Simcoe, Warrior, Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo and Tomahawk hops. Due to its very limited release and high demand, this beer will only be available to World of Beer Loyalty Members. In addition to this exclusive tapping, World of Beer will be hosting a crawfish boil on the patio that day starting at 4:30pm (weather: 61° F). The crawfish will be shipped to the bar from Louisiana on the day of the event and will be sold for $5 a plate. [660 S Colorado Blvd, Glendale, CO]

Dry Dock Brewing Co (Aurora) - Happy Friday! Stop in for another in their long standing tradition of firkin tappings today at 3pm. Today they will be tapping a firkin of Raspberry Barrel Aged Shotgun Stout. It's sure to be a crowd pleaser. [15120 E Hampden Ave, Aurora, CO]

Station 26 Brewing Co (Denver) - Today they have ten beers on tap, including two brand new ones - a Red IPA (Batch #2) and a Porter! And Quiero Arepas will be there tonight serving up awesome Venezuelan eats. Open from 2pm to 11pm. [7045 E 38th Ave, Denver, CO]

Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew (Denver) - In addition to the release of their OMF Barleywine today at 2pm, OMF will also be tapping a lost keg of their Pumpkin Ale. Time, they say, has done this keg some good. Food truck - The Special - will be on site also tonight. [2810 Larimer St, Denver, CO]

Colorado Plus (Wheat Ridge) - Good news IPA fans! Colorado Plus now has their big Bitter Off Dead Double IPA back on tap today. Also on tap is their 420 Red Head Smoked Hops Red Ale and Willma, a single hop IPA. Plus dozens of Colorado-only craft beers on tap. [6995 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO]

River North Brewery (Denver) - Just a reminder that tomorrow, March 1st, River North will be releasing even more barrel-aged goodness in the form of "Quad on Oak". This will be a bottle release and will also be on draft. Bottles will sell for $9 each. [2401 Blake St, Denver, CO]

TRVE Brewing (Denver) - Batch #2 of TRVE's Manannan - Sour Brown Ale - will be released on Sunday, March 2nd at 2pm at the brewery. This brew was aged in whiskey barrels and soured with Brett and Lactobacillus. [227 Broadway #101, Denver, CO]

Black Sky Brewery (Denver) - Today on tap at Black Sky is Lila's Golden Ale. It's a Belgian-style golden ale weighing in at 9% ABV and 9 IBUs. [490 Santa Fe Dr, Denver, CO]

Boulder County

Twisted Pine Brewing Co (Boulder) - Since not everyone was able to get tickets to this weekend's Boulder Strong Ale Fest, Twisted Pine will be putting up all 3 of their Boulder Strong Ale Fest beers on tap at their taproom today. These beers include: Northstar Imperial Porter, West Bound Braggot, and Noel Tripel. There will be a "boatload" more beers available as well so by missing out on the fest, you can still score big at Twisted Pine. [3201 Walnut St, Suite A, Boulder, CO]

BRU Handbuilt Ales (Boulder) - Stop over to Cured in Boulder tonight for a complimentary tasting of BRU's handbuilt ales from 4pm to 6pm. They will be pouring 3 different BRU beers including: Citrum India Pale Ale, Obitus American Brown Ale and Beezel Belgian Style Golden Ale. [Cured: 1825 Pearl St, Boulder, CO]

Northern Colorado

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Two events to look forward to. 1) Set your calendar for Saturday, March 15th for Grimm Brothers' St. Patty's Day Party. They'll be releasing their Bearskin Irish Stout at noon to start the day. There will be Irish food and pairings all day long as well as Irish Dancers 3-4pm. Wear your green. There will be contests for free shirts, hats, pints, and growlers throughout the night. 2) After several years of bottle releases, Grimm Brothers is going to start putting their 1st beer into cans! On Saturday, April 12, 2014, Grimm Brothers will host a Little Red Cap Can Release Party all day long. During this event, Grimm Brothers will also be offering up Beer Can Chicken and will be hosting a Canned Food Drive to benefit House of Neighborly Service. More details on this party coming soon. Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - On tap today at 3pm - "Stay Classy", a gin barrel aged Imperial Saison. Plus News! [PRESS RELEASE] Verboten Brewing announces first liquor store bottle release at Wilbur's Total Beverage (Ft. Collins). Verboten Brewing has announced their first bottle release to local liquor store, Wilbur’s Total Beverage in Fort Collins. The release is a 22 oz. bottle of their signature beer, Killer Boots, a 6.0% ABV porter made with the addition of their house made caramel. “We are excited to release these bottles and make them available to a wider audience and Wilbur’s is a fantastic first venue for us,” says co-owner Angie Grenz. “This is just the beginning; we are planning to continue to release bottles throughout 2014.” While the first release is limited, Verboten plans to ramp up production to continue to release more signature beers with their orange blossom honey wheat, Thinking of Something Orange, and their dark cream ale, a Kentucky Common beer named Angry Banjo, among the next beers planned for bottling. The Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - March is gearing up to be a big beer release month at FCB. Check out the upcoming line-up of specialty beers. Starting Monday, March 10th, there will be 3 new beers on tap at the FCB tasting room, Gravity 1020 and select bars: Voluptuous Blonde (5.6% ABV 20 IBU), Kiss Me Frisky Ginger (Irish Red 4.7% ABV 19 IBU), and Spiced Wheat Ale (5.0% ABV 15 IBU). Then on Friday, March 14th, come in for a taste of their "Out of the Ashes - Smoked Marzen". And a few days later on March 18th, FCB welcomes back their Maibock, spring seasonal. New Belgium Brewing (Ft. Collins) - What's that crazy looking van driving around Ft. Collins? It's the New Belgium Snapshot Wheat Photomobile. Let's get weird Fort Collins! Coming up tomorrow, March 1st, look for the Photomobile at 3 different locations in FoCo. From 2 to 4pm it'll be at New Belgium Brewing taking photos of you with their wild and crazy props. Then from 5pm to 7pm it'll be over at Campus West Liquor Depot (1107 City Park Ave), and finally it'll stop at Road 34 Bike Bar from 8pm to 10pm (1213 W Elizabeth St). There will be lots of fun at the Photomobile and you'll get your chance to try the new Snapshot Wheat beer - a slightly tart brew. [500 Linden St, Ft. Collins, CO]

Mountains and West

Tommyknocker Brewery (Idaho Springs) - For the 1st time in nearly 12 years, Tommyknocker Brewery will put one of its beers into cans. Starting in May, look for cans of their new "IPA & A Half" to be packaged and put on store shelves. They plan to enlist the help of Mobile Canning of Longmont to bring this big 7.3% ABV 87 IBU beer to a more portable package.

Dillon Dam Brewery (Dillon) - In case you missed it earlier, Dillon Dam Brewery now has their Imperial Brown Ale on tap. This beer was brewed for their 17th Dam-versary. It's a different spin on their classic Sweet George's Brown Ale - bigger! It has a big malt balance with a chocolate backbone that'll melt on your tongue. It's reportedly smooth, dark brown and boozy, the kind of beer you want to hold tight on a winter's night while sitting next to the fire. This is a big 8.5% ABV brew so tread carefully or you might just miss the first chair on the lift the next morning. [100 Little Dam Rd, Dillon, CO]

Aspen Brewing Co (Aspen) - All weekend long you can help say "F*CK CANCER". For every pint of their Blonde ale sold and with their sticker sales, they will donate a $1 to @B_CURED and cancer research. Come drink in the view and support the fight against cancer. [304 E Hopkins Ave, Aspen, CO]

Crazy Mountain Brewing Co (Edwards) - Join in on Tuesday, March 4th as they let the good times roll at Hooked Restaurant in Beaver Creek for their Fat Tuesday Extravaganza! For only $20, you'll get a plate of authentic Louisiana crawfish boil, 2 Crazy Mountain beers (they're taking over the taps, y'all!) and 2 HOURS of free parking at Beaver Creek!
