May signals the end of the snowy season and the beginning of the outdoor beer festival season. College graduations are happening, celebrations are starting, the mountains open up for warmer recreation activities and with the coming of Memorial Weekend it marks the start of a long string of weekends ahead with plenty of beer flowing.

These calendar listings are updated almost daily whenever new events are made public. Colorado Springs Craft Week is dedicated to cultivating the craft culture in Colorado Springs through collaboration, education, celebration, and philanthropy in their community. They build support for the many small, craft businesses in the Pikes Peak region including craft coffee, beer, cocktails, and food. By coming together as a whole craft industry, they will highlight the shift of the community seeking a higher quality, locally crafted product with several events throughout the region that will in turn help other organizations with similar missions. The Brews and Cruise festival will begin Saturday with gates opening 11 AM, but the beer fest part will begin at 1pm. They have over 25 different breweries to sample along with 30 different food and merchandise vendors to enjoy. Beer sampling will begin at 1 pm to 6 pm. (ID’s REQUIRED). This is a NO pet event. The previous night (Friday) they will host a Street Dance party with live music and a brew tent from 6pm to 11pm, but the main beer fest is on Saturday. Here's a beer tasting event to raise money and awareness for The Romito Foundation, Three Brothers Against Duchenne (3BAD). Around a dozen Colorado breweries are expected to participate in this fundraiser to fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. VIP entry includes early entry plus a Crawfish Boil. As the unofficial launch of summertime in the mountains, top BBQ chefs from around the state join local chefs in serving up mouth-watering barbecue complemented by thirst-quenching microbrews from over 22 breweries at one of the largest Colorado Microbrewery beer tastings. The final musical lineup is to come, but have recent Grammy Winner Charlie Musselwhite confirmed to perform live during the weekend. In addition to great music, barbecue masters will be competing for bragging rights and $10,000 in cash prizes. On Saturday a panel of professional judges will rate pork, beef and side dishes according to appearance, taste and tenderness. This year, attendees will have the chance to text their vote on Saturday and Sunday to determine the People’s Choice winner for Best Barbecue Vendor.
