Festivals this weekend: Frozen Dead Guy Days (Nederland), Fort Collins Beer Pairing at CSU (Ft. Collins), KSPN's Blitzenbanger Winter Brew-Au (Aspen Highlands) and Brew & Stew (Denver). See details in the March Colorado Beer Fest Calendar.

Metro Denver

Station 26 Brewing Co (Denver) - Today the brewers were busy making a 15 barrel batch of the second in their cherrywood smoked beer series. Look for their "Cherrywood Smoked Red" to be available in a few weeks. This beer spotlights German malts (Munich, Vienna, and CaraBohemian). Taproom is open today from 2pm to 11pm. Hops & Pie (Denver) - What's new on tap for this weekend? Check these out when you stop in: Shipwrecked (Double IPA) from Mission Brewery, Jacobins Rouge (a Flanders Red Ale), Aprihop (IPA) from Dogfish Head, and Cappuccino Stout from Lagunitas. 2014 Denver International Beer Competition

Wit's End Brewing Co (Denver) - Wit's End will be part of the Beermuda Triangle collaboration with Strange Brewing Company, Renegade Brewing Company, TRVE Brewing, Black Sky Brewery, and Breckenridge Brewery of Colorado. In addition to this, look for a limited amount of Cibeertron (apple ale) brewed with a special juice blend from Colorado Cider Company, and the return of Judge Whoppner (Brown Ale with Whoppers malted milk balls) brewed w/Renegade. All this at the upcoming Collaboration Fest at the Curtis Hotel in Denver, CO on March 22nd 3-7pm. [2505 W 2nd Ave, Unit #13, Denver, CO]

Kokopelli Beer Co (Westminster) - This weekend Kokopelli will be bringing back their Weizen Up. This beer will now become one of their standard house ales. Also, soon to be tapped will be the final batch of Winter Moon Winter Ale. Once it's gone it won't be back until next winter. New seasonal ales will be tapping soon including their Blonde Ale - watch for it. Coming up next weekend of St. Paddy's Day they will tap a small batch of Blarney Stone Red, OTOGOB Dry Stout, Copper Road ESB and a firkin of The Scotsman. In the brewhouse, they are close to firing up their new 10BBL system. Can you can more beer?! Their new 10BLL fermenters now have names: Chico, Harpo, Groucho, Gummo and Zeppo. American Craft Beer Radio (102.3FM Denver) - This week's show (Saturday at noon) is going to be BIG. Literally. Gary V will be in studio welcoming brewery reps from near and far and they will impart on us all of their vast knowledge (hey, they have sweet jobs for a reason!) Here is an early list of breweries that will be represented: Stone Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co, New Belgium Brewing, Dry Dock Brewing Company, Alaskan Brewing Co., Avery Brewing Company (duh), Mission Brewery, and Grist Brewing Company. Lone Tree Brewing Co (Lone Tree) - Look for their Irish Red to be back on the taps soon. They are busy brewing up 3 batches of this brew today in anticipation of releasing it later this month. Brewing 3 batches back to back to back makes for one long brew day.

Lowdown Brewery + Kitchen (Denver) - Today on tap they have 8 brews and 1 on the nitro tap. Enjoy one of these: Selfish, Lowdown IPA, The Boxer India Red Ale, Tripel, Patio Pounding Pilz, Lowdown White Ale, Rye Porter (regular and on nitro), and Lonely Sheep. Dad & Dude's Breweria (Centennial) - Dad & Dude's has just the tap list today to shake off that wet and snowy feeling. On tap today: Dank IPA, Diggity Dank Imperial IPA, Liquid Resume Pale Ale, In Quad We Trust Belgian Quadruple, Shot in the Dark Belgian Dark Strong, Ryot Rye Ale, and Toffee Porter! River North Brewery (Denver) - Thirsty? Cold? Stop in and get out of the wet snow and enjoy either a Hello Darkness Black IPA or an Avarice Imperial Stout for $1 off all day. [2401 Blake St, Denver, CO]

Boulder County

BRU Handbuilt Ales & Eats (Boulder) - This week at the brewery, BRU's Beer Chef Ian Clark has released a new beer this week - Honey Rye-der. It's a honey rye India Pale Lager that weighs in at 6.7% ABV and is made from 2 row pale malt, Rye Malt, Honey Malt, Biscuit Malt, Chinook Hops, and 7-C's hops. Also on tap this week is their Belgian IPA (5.6% ABV). It's a clean, bitter hoppy character of their American IPA style with the spicy notes or fruity esters of many Belgian styles. Twisted Pine Brewing Co (Boulder) - Homebrewers Greg Foley and David Carlberg, champions of their inaugural Hopularity Contest, are in the house today brewing their winning Double IPA recipe with their head brewer Kay. Keep an eye out for a special tapping towards the end of ‪‎Colorado Craft Beer Week later this month‬!

Oskar Blues (Longmont) - Over at the Tasty Weasel Taproom today they will be pouring a keg conditioned batch of dry hopped Dales Pale Ale, a Honey Ginger Mama's Pils, a Nitro Chub & ESB, Priscilla, their 2014 Gubna, and Blackie Beanie Chub (aka Vanilla blackberry Chub) on cask. Need any more reason to visit today?

Very Nice Brewing Co (Nederland) - Just in time for Frozen Dead Guy Days, Very Nice Brewing will be tapping their "Grandfathered In" Scottish Ale today. Make this one of your destinations when you come up for the festival. [20 Lakeview Dr, Unit 112, Nederland, CO]

Upslope Brewing Co (Boulder) - It's Firkin Friday over at their Lee Hill location. They are tapping a firkin of "Im-Pear-ial IPA". This is a big 10% ABV brew made with pears. Betcha gonna love it! [1501 Lee Hill Rd, Boulder, CO]

Echo Brewing (Frederick) - The brewery is tapping two beers today. Stop in and try them out. The first is an Amarillo Session Ale made with Amarillo hops. The second beer is their Amber Ale. Both go great on a cool day like today. [5969 Iris Pkwy, Frederick, CO]

Odd13 Brewing (Lafayette) - Come join in for their Inaugural Bottle Release Party on March 23rd @ 4pm. At the event, they are releasing Barrel Series #1, which is a Belgian-style blonde ale aged in red wine barrels with brettanomyces. There just may be some bottles of their other styles as well. Of course, if you prefer draft beer, they will be serving that as well, including Barrel Series #1. [301 E Simpson St, Lafayette, CO]

Shine Brewing Co (Boulder) - There's a new beer on tap at the Shine Restaurant, Gathering Place & Brewery - today it's their Imperial Shakti IPA. It weighs in at a hefty 10.8% ABV. Come over and get wet and wild with this one. [2027 13th St, Boulder, CO]

Left Hand Brewing Co (Longmont) - Today's the day the Good Juju is back. Come enjoy this crisp ginger beer. Also available in 6-packs to take home from the tasting room. [1265 Boston Ave, Longmont, CO]

Avery Rufus CorvusAvery Brewing (Boulder) - Coming soon, #19 in their Barrel-Aged Sour series - Rufus Corvus. This beer is being described as "An artful and massively acidic blend of two major projects and further enhanced with several orphan barrels from the corners of our barrel aging cellar. All ale involved was barrel aged for a minimum of 8 months and a maximum of 24 months." - In other news, Avery will be pouring their beers up at Frozen Dead Guy Days this weekend. And, back in the taproom, Avery will be pouring a special tapping today at 5pm - Out of Mind Coffee Stout. This beer was made with Ozo's Ethiopia Yirgacheffe coffee. Then next Friday, March 14th, the special tapping will be "Winter's Day IPA" with rosemary & Chinook hops. But the biggest news of all - THEY BROKE GROUND! By this time next year, they expect to be moving into their $27 million state-of-the-art brewing facility! The new space, located at 4910 Nautilus Court in Boulder, will feature an expanded tap room, restaurant, outdoor beer garden, and gift shop, and our initial production capacity will double to about 100,000 barrels. Sanitas Brewing (Boulder) - Just tapped today - Dark Dream Imperial Cherry Stout. Just the perfect beer to sip inside while watching the snow fall outside. [3550 Frontier Ave, Unit A, Boulder, CO]

Fate Brewing Co (Boulder) - Just tapped - their Belgian Dubbel. This brew weighs in at 6.9% ABV. Stop in for a taste. [1600 38th St, Boulder, CO]

Northern Colorado

Funkwerks (Ft. Collins) - Here's a deal that only happens when it's snowing outside the brewery. Stop in and order a beer when it's snowing today and get half off the price IF you consume it outside while it's snowing. Dress appropriately! [1900 E Lincoln, Ft. Collins, CO]

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse (Loveland) - Today the 1st in their new Odds & Ends series goes on tap. Today's version is an Odds & Ends: Amarillo - made exclusively with Amarillo hops. It's described as a hop forward beer with a noticeable citrus and grapefruit flavor. A soft malt background balances the beer, but leaves a nice hop flavor shine. Fermentedly Challenged gave this one a try last night and gives it a thumbs up! It has a nice hop hit that'll sneak back on you a few seconds after the sip is done. Broken Plow Brewery (Greeley) - There's a new BIG beer on tap now at Broken Plow today. It's a new Double IPA called Drunken Raven. It's high on hops and ABVs. Hop heads are going to enjoy this one. Enjoy this or one of their 6 other beers on tap today. [4731 W. 10th St, Greeley, CO]

Buckhorn Brewers (Loveland) - After being closed for the last 2 months due to licensing issues, the brewer is heading down to the brewery today to keg up their Red and get the place open for business. They should be back to normal operations by next week, but for now they will open today from 3pm to 7pm, then back on the weekend for normal hours 2pm to 8pm Saturday and Sunday. Front Range Rally (Loveland) - The 2nd annual Front Range Rally (beer & food truck festival) is still looking for a few more breweries and sponsors to fill out this year's spots for the May 31st event. If you are eager to help out for a good cause to raise funds for Food Bank for Larimer County, please inquire at the Front Range Rally web site: www.frontrangerally.org.

Southern Front Range

Trinity Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - According to a report from Eric Gorski of the Denver Post, Trinity Brewing is making plans to open up a second brewery location in Denver, possibly in the River North area, sometime in the 2016 timeframe. This location would also act as a hub for distribution of their beers for out of state customers. This new location would also be a brewpub complete with a full kitchen. The brewery in Colorado Springs would continue to operate as normal. Trinity is also currently making plans to start shipping beers to Oregon starting in April. Red Leg Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - Today at the brewery they are releasing their Raspberry Brown today starting at 5pm. If you belong to the Commander's Club you can get first pouring at 4pm. [4630 Forge Road, Suite B, Colo. Springs, CO]

Paradox Beer Co (Woodland Park) - If you can make it out of your snow covered mountain cabin tonight... they are pouring Skully Barrel No. 8, The Tripper, The Kilted Lass, Hoptagram, and Santuario tonight during the 23rd Annual "Wine Festival of Colorado Springs", located at The Broadmoor Hotel and starting at 7pm. Who says beer doesn't belong at a wine festival!

Mountains and West

Crazy Mountain Brewing Co (Edwards) - Are you up in the Vail Valley today? Then stop in at West Vail Liquor Mart from 4pm to 6pm today and talk with the Crazy Mountain rep Jack. He'll be pouring samples of their beer including their brand new Double IPA! Yes, they make one of those now. West Vail Liquor Mart is at 2151 N. Frontage Rd, Vail, CO]

BREW Pub & Kitchen (Durango) - Tonight is the night of their 1st Anniversary Party at BREW starting at 6pm. They'll have plenty of craft beers with specials, a pig roast, a performance by The Lawn Chair Kings, and lots of revelry. Stop in and celebrate! [117 W College Dr, Durango, CO]

Steamworks Brewing (Durango) - It's the first Friday of the month and that means it's time for their Firkin Friday. This month they are bringing back their ever popular "Irish Car Bomb".
