Metro Denver

Kokopelli Beer Co (Westminster) - This is going to be a busy weekend for beer releases at Kokopelli Beer Company. Starting this Friday, March 14th, Kokopelli will be releasing five new beers in honor of the St. Patrick's Day weekend. Their new beers include "OTOGOB", an Irish Dry Stout, "Blarney Stone", an Irish Red Ale, The Scotsman, a Scottish Ale, and "Copper Road Ale", an Extra Special Bitter (ESB). They will also have an Irish band playing music that Friday night starting at 7:30pm. Then the next day on Saturday, they will also release their Hop Slugger IPA. Freshcraft (Denver) - On Saturday, March 29th from 1pm to 5pm at Freshcraft, there will a Beer Advocate Social. Todd Alstrom of BeerAdvocate Magazine and Candice Alstrom will be in attendance at Freshcraft for the 2nd of many upcoming Beer Advocate socials. They plan on tapping a rae keg of beer or two for the crew. Please come hang out, meet the Alstroms and enjoy some great beer with all the amazing Beer Advocates out there. Arvada Beer Co (Arvada) - How do you get over the hump? With a Hump Day Helper of course. The Wednesday beer special today is their Irish Stout on Nitro. It's just $3 all day long (and that includes tax). [5600 Old Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO]

Black Shirt Brewing (Denver) - A returning favorite is back on tap this week at Black Shirt Brewing. They've just put their India Red Porter on tap. It's their take on a Cascadian Dark Ale or Black IPA. It weighs in at a big 7.7% ABV and 80 IBUs. They brewed it with a bunch of Centennial, Zythos and Chinook hops and dry-hopped it with Simcoe and Chinook. Their tap list photo is also our Pic of the Day. Enjoy! [3719 Walnut St, Denver, CO]

Falling Rock Tap House (Denver) - During the upcoming Craft Brewers Conference in April, Falling Rock will host 3 consecutive nights of specialized beer tappings. On Wednesday, April 9th at 5:30pm it's "Night of the Saisons". Then on Thursday, April 10th at 5:30pm it's "Night of the Barrel". And finally on Friday, April 11th it's "Night of the Sours". Each night there will be 30 unique beers on tap: 30 Saisons, 30 Barrel-aged beers and 30 Sours. Check with your server for a list: they are in order giving you the brewery, beer, a short description and the ABV. Order by Number only! (It’s like paint by numbers, but more fun because its beer.) Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew (Denver) - On Friday, March 14th 2014 Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew will release the 2nd year of Winter Warmer. Available in 22oz bottles, this 10.4% Old Ale is incredibly complex with hints of chocolate, coffee, acidic notes, raisin and black currant, all which come from the use of house roasted barley & brown malts. Cascade and summit hops impart a complimentary aroma and bitterness. While this is a new release, it is also the conclusion of the availability of this winter seasonal. The Brew on Broadway (Englewood) - There will be a beer release party this Friday, March 14th at 6pm in honor of St. Patrick's Day. This brew is called "The Griffin Ryerish Redheaded Ale". In addition, they will have two beers on a nitro tap: Placer ESB and Social Club Coffee Milk Stout. Live music Friday and Saturday 7-10pm. Come discover beer at The BoB! Strange Brewing Co (Denver) - It's Collaboration Day at Strange Brewing Company! They put their half of Strangely Epic in Fireside barrels today. Big Bad Baptist from Epic Brewing Company will soak up all that bourbon barrel goodness for a month and a week then return to the fermenter for coffee and cacao nibs before blending with their Cherry Kriek. Wynkoop Brewing Co (Denver) - Coming at you April 1st - Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout returns to cans. They are releasing one extra-small batch and that's it for the year! This beer got it's start as an April Fools joke, but then the demand for it was so high they had to actually brew it. Then people tried it, and loved it. Ah, truly a tale for the generations no? Well, maybe not. But the people have spoken and they want balls in their beer. So they listened to the people, and honoring its start you can pick up two-packs starting April 1st! What The Funk!? (Denver) - Tickets are now on sale for what may be one of the Spring's biggest beer events during the Craft Brewers Conference. What The Funk?! is back and bigger than ever. Dozens of nationally known craft brewers will be pouring their funkiest beers at the EXDO Events Center in Denver. Tickets will sell out fast (and aren't cheap either). Former Future Brewing Co (Denver) - Want to know what they've got planned for release? Here's a list of beers they've brewed over the last few weeks: Barrel Fermented and Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout, Batch 2 of Perplexity - a Farmhouse IPA (on tap this weekend), To be named Kitchen Sink Scotch Ale, Singularity Principle I (the first of many SMaSH beers), Brimful - Dark Saison, and also a to be named Rye ESB, a to be named Cream Ale, and their first bottle release featuring our Bourbon Barrel Aged Prim & Porter. Echo Brewing Cask & Barrel (Erie) - Progress is being made to open up Echo Brewing's 2nd facility. Equipment is starting to arrive and they plan to open up sometime in the Spring. [600 Briggs St, Erie, CO]

Fate Brewing Co (Boulder) - Fate Brewing will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day Saturday thru Monday and have a bunch of great stuff planned to celebrate. They'll have Irish Dancers, special beer releases and an awesome Irish menu. For St. Patrick's Day weekend they will release a "Nitro Irish Dry Stout" (4% ABV 39 IBU) and an "Irish Red Ale" (4.8% ABV, 25 IBU). There will also be Irish dancers performing Saturday 3/15 @ 4:30pm, Sunday @ 3pm and Monday @8pm. [1600 38th St, Boulder, CO]

Avery Brewing Co (Boulder) - Avery Brewing has set the date for the release of their next barrel-aged sour ale "Rufus Corvus" for April 27th, 2014 at 5pm. Mark your calendars now. [5763 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, CO]

Brewers Association (Boulder) -'s Julia Herz debunks three myths surrounding darker-colored beer styles like porters and stouts and black ales in this new video on YouTube. Don't be scared of the dark--beer color is not an indicator of a beer's body, calorie content or alcohol level.

Northern Colorado

City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - Today there is a small batch of Jasmine Green Tea Pale Ale that will be tapped at 2pm. This American pale ale is infused with “Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls”: young green tea leaves are scented 6-8 times at night with fresh Jasmine flowers and then rolled into pearls. This batch isn't expected to last more than a day or two, so be sure to try it when you stop in today. [321 Mountain Ave, Berthoud, CO]

1933 Brewing Company1933 Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - Yesterday, Fort Collins had their latest brewery open. 1933 Brewing Company opened for business with 4 beers on tap. They offer an Oatmeal Stout, an IPA, an Amber Ale and a Brown Ale as their initial brews. They also offer beer to go in growlers and growlettes. They are open daily from 12pm to 9pm. Back in January of this year, some of their brewing equipment was stolen and set them back temporarily, but now they have recovered and have gotten to opening day. Big Beaver Brewing (Loveland) - FREE BEER ALERT! Big Beaver is helping you get your St. Patty's Day party on with free growler fills of their Hoppy Brown Ale this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (3/14-3/16). "Why", you ask? Well, they have a bunch of new beers lined up, and they need to make room for them! Seriously, free beer, no catch. Actually, there's just 1 little thing... you have to dance your best Irish Jig for them. There's plenty of YouTube videos to help you practice. Fierro's Nice Brews (Colorado Springs) - This brewery in planning has brewed up a collaboration beer with Pikes Peak Brewing Co of Monument that will be tapped at both Pikes Peak Brewing (Mar. 21st) and at the Collaboration Fest (Mar. 22nd). It will then be tapped at Brewers Republic (Mar. 25th) and at Wild Goose (Mar. 27th). This is your chance to try a brew from Fierro's before they open for business. [Coming to Colorado Springs, CO]

Pagosa Brewing Co (Pagosa Springs) - Today at 5pm in the taproom, Pagosa Brewing will tap a special cask of "Shreddin' Red IPA". This beer is a hoppy treat with a beautiful red/amber color. Shreddin’ Red is described as having an amazing hop punch and a great malt balance, making for an easy drinking pint. [118 N Pagosa Blvd, Pagosa Springs, CO]
