Colorado Beer NewsToday is Good Samaritan Involvement Day. This is a day to showcase the importance of giving unselfish aid to those who are in need. If you see someone who needs help today please take the time to stop and do them a favor. Whether it be someone who is poor, homeless, or perhaps a friend of yours who could simply need a hand. Breckenridge Barleywine Batch #1Breckenridge Brewery (Denver) - Coming up this Saturday, March 15th at Breck's Denver brewery on Kalamath, they will be hosting a Bottle Release Party for their new "Barleywine Batch #1". This brew comes packaged in a 22oz wax dipped top bottle. While you're there, you can enjoy a FREE pint of their new Spring seasonal "Ophelia" as well while sampling Barleywine Batch #1. Breck's Barleywine was cold conditioned for three months and barrel-aged in fresh American Oak barrels for another six, and weighs in at 10.1% ABV. It has an aromatic complexity resembling that of molasses and ripened black cherries, and a robust profile that blends a spectrum of flavors including sweet malts, dark fruits, oak, and esters. River North Brewing (Denver) - [PRESS RELEASE] River North Celebrates Colorado Craft Beer Week with Wine Barrel Aged J. Marie. A year and a half after the first batch, River North Brewery is bringing back one of its original barrel-aged brews, Wine Barrel Aged J. Marie! Serving as the finale for Colorado Craft Beer Week, Wine Barrel Aged J. Marie will debut Saturday, March 29th at 1pm in the River North taproom, at 2401 Blake Street in Denver. Aging J. Marie for nine months in Chardonnay barrels lends dry notes of oak and fresh pear to River North’s classic farmhouse ale. "We were looking for high quality, fresh Chardonnay barrels for several months," Head Brewer Matt Hess said. "When we finally found some last summer, we knew exactly what to fill them with. J. Marie is the perfect beer for these barrels." The brewery will have the beer on tap and in bottles throughout the day. Bombers will cost $15 with a 2-bottle limit. Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew (Denver) - Tomorrow (Friday, March 14th) at 2pm is the 2014 Winter Warmer bottle release! There's only 300 of these bottles, so get them while you can. This one's over 10% ABV! The Special food truck will be at the taproom for the party. [2810 Larimer St, Denver, CO]

Elk Mountain Brewing (Parker) - Their barrel program is gaining popularity fast. Their next release is their Red Rum Red (an Irish Red in a rum barrel). Get this limited release while it lasts! Tapping this Saturday, March 15th at noon. [18921 Plaza Dr, Parker, CO]

Epic Brewing (Denver) - As part of Colorado Craft Beer Week, Epic will offer Beer School! On Saturday, March 22 at 1pm, their brewer Brian Arnold is hosting a class that will be a beer tasting and full sensory analysis with discussions about tasting, storing, serving, cellaring and using proper glassware. Arvada Beer Co (Arvada) - Beer Release Update! Their "Butter Pecan Brown" will be on tap tomorrow, March 14th by 2pm. Growler fills ARE available of this one. They'll have a full dozen fresh craft beer on tap this weekend. [5600 Olde Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO]

Yak & Yeti Brewpub (Arvada) - There's a beer release this Friday, March 14th at 4pm called "Jose Smythe", an Agave Porter aged on oak. This Tequila/English-Porter hybrid beer uses 6lbs of Agave syrup per barrel and was aged on American oak (medium toast) spirals. [7803 Ralston Rd, Arvada, CO]

Strange Brewing Co (Denver) - Today Strange Brewing is tapping a small amount of "99 Bottles IPA". Brewed with John Turk for his anniversary of the Colorado Craft Beer Show on the radio. Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - Join in on the fun! It's time for their March Madness Keg Tourney Challenge! 1933 Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - This brand new brewery has yet another new brew being released today. Stop in and try their Blonde Ale today. Pateros Creek Brewing Co (Ft. Collins) - Stop in this Saturday for their St. Patrick's Day Party. They will be tapping 3 new beers to help you celebrate. "Belfast Special" - an oak-aged bourbon vanilla stout, "Angry Irishman" - a sour Irish Stout, and good ol' "Green Beer" - their Stimulator Pale Ale with a green coloring. Loveland Aleworks (Loveland) - Crow Hop Brewing Co and Loveland Aleworks are holding the first ever Ale-Hop event this weekend! This beer crawl lasts all weekend (Friday-Monday), and includes both breweries and all of your favorite bars in Downtown Loveland! During all of this fun, those folks wearing a Colorado Flood Relief tee will enjoy $1 off beers at both breweries! In other news, they will release their new batch of Double Birds Imperial IPA on Friday, March 14th. They will open at 10:00am on Sunday, March 16th so everyone can enjoy a beer with breakfast (Billy's Chaulkboard Gourmet Express will be there serving up his famous corn beef hash and eggs), and Noco Short Bus Tours will offer hop on-hop off shuttle service between Big Beaver Brewing Co., Aleworks, and Grimm Brothers Brewhouse on Monday, St. Patrick's Day from 6pm to 9:30pm. Trinity Brewing (Colorado Springs) - Trinity will host a tasting of 5 of the 6 new Swingline beer series on March 25th. They will be offering tastes of: Original Swingline, Session (no microbes or barrels), Se Pliser (Lacto only and no wild yeast), Easy (Brett only, no bacteria), and Double (8.2% 150 IBUs!). Crazy Mountain Brewing Co (Edwards) - When is a Root Beer not a Root Beer? When they blend it into a real beer! Tomorrow is Firkin Friday! Their cellar master, Jeff, created an awesome concoction for you this week: Root Beer Cara de Luna Black Ale, using handcrafted root beer from the Rocky Mountain Soda Company.
