Sanitas 360 TripelSanitas Brewing Co (Boulder) - [PRESS RELEASE] Sanitas Brewing Company is expanding its available canned offerings with a limited edition Tripel. Motivated by the rich history of Trappist brewing in Belgium, Sanitas’ brewers designed 360º Tripel to highlight complex spice and fruit notes imparted by an authentic abbey-harvested yeast strain. The hazy, straw colored ale displays white pepper and orange in the aroma with layers of clove, floral hops, anise, and ripe pear in the flavor. A dry and crisp finish provides remarkable drinkability given the 8.4% ABV. 360º Tripel also marks a collaboration between Sanitas and craft brewery can supplier Crown Beverage. As inventor of the bottle cap, Crown has supported the craft beer industry for over a century. Crown’s world-class manufacturing practices and role as a beer-packaging pioneer are reflected in the technology of Sanitas’ newest can. Matte printing and a fully removable can top are two such innovations consumers can experience with 360º Tripel. 6 packs of 360º Tripel, named after the 360º End which it features, will hit shelves of select Boulder County liquor stores this week. Supplies are highly limited, each store receiving only a small number of cases. The beer was also brewed to coincide with this year’s Craft Brewer’s Conference held in Denver, where attendees will be able to try it. Furthermore, it will be on tap at Sanitas Brewing Company’s Tap Room and a small number of bars and restaurants starting Tuesday, April 1. [3550 Frontier Ave, Unit A, Boulder, CO]

Odell Brewing (Ft. Collins) - [PRESS RELEASE] On April 7th, Odell Brewing will celebrate “Session Beer Day” with the release of its latest year round six pack offering, Loose Leaf American Session Ale. Loose Leaf debuted last year, as part of the brewery’s Montage Variety Pack. The beer was so well received, the brewery decided to release it in its own package this year. “When we introduced Loose Leaf last year, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive," said National Sales Manager, Kirk Simpson. "Many customers expressed how much they wished they could get more than just the three bottles in the Montage Variety Pack, so we listened!” Recently named one of the best new beers of 2013 by Modern Brewery Age, Loose Leaf is lighter in color, lower in alcohol content, yet flavorful and distinct. The final recipe is crisp and balanced with lower IBU's and a bright hop aroma. The name “Loose Leaf” is a nod to the loose, whole flower hops used in the hop back that give the beer its unique hop character. At 4.5% ABV, it’s delicate and refreshingly drinkable with a clean finish. “Light and crisp, but with such good hop character,” said Pete Reid, Modern Brewery Age. “Gently hopped, but the hops are perfectly calibrated”. Odell Brewing will celebrate the release of Loose Leaf with a variety of events in all of its markets, and in the Tap Room on April 7th(Session Beer Day). Loose Leaf will be available in six packs year round throughout the brewery’s eleven state distribution footprint.

Steamworks Brewing Co (Durango) - [PRESS RELEASE] As is now tradition on the first Friday of the month, Steamworks Brewing Co. continues its Firkin Fridays event on Apr. 4, 2014, offering up an homage to Spring and a devilishly good, cask-conditioned brew. The Devil’s Bouquet firkin will be tapped at 3 p.m. “The base is our Ale Diablo, which is a strong, golden ale,” said Steamworks Brew Master and Certified Cicerone® Ken Martin. “We added rose hips and elderflowers as a nod to the spring season here in Durango, and maybe to pay a bit of reverence to the weather gods to send us some much needed precipitation.” Also added to the cask was concentrated wine grape juice as a sugar source to achieve refermentation, according to Martin. With cask conditioning, the yeast transforms the sugar into alcohol, and the natural carbonation results from the trapped carbon dioxide occurring as a byproduct. The beer’s flavors and characters develop within the cask. [801 E. 2nd Ave, Durango, CO]

Kannah Creek Brewing (Grand Junction) - Stop in for a Monday firkin tapping of their La Señorita Amber. It taps at 5pm and will be available for 1 night only. [1690 N 12th St, Grand Junction, CO]

Ska Mexican LagerSka Brewing Co (Durango) - [PRESS RELEASE] Ska Brewing is announcing the 2014 release of Mexican Logger, the brewery’s seasonal Mexican-style lager. Brewed in honor of a fictional “Mexican Logger Superhero” that was part of the irreverent brewery’s original business plan/comic book, the beer hits stores on Wednesday, April 2 in cans, bottles and kegs in Colorado and Ska’s other markets. Originally brewed in 1999 and debuting in cans in 2011, Mexican Logger is a highly sessionable craft-style lager of 5% ABV. It’s made with premium malts and hops and fermented with a German lager yeast. The beer features a light-to-medium body and flavors of fresh grain and sweet malt, all balanced by a pleasant bite of Saaz hops and clean, crisp finish. Perfect for summer quaffing, the beer has become a warm-weather hit with Ska fans. It has also played a big role in Ska’s 12% growth in 2013. “Mexican Logger’s sales were up 32% last year,” says Ska founder Dave Thibodeau. “It accounts for nearly 12% of our overall annual sales, which is pretty unique for a seasonal beer.” To help meet demand for the beer this year, Thibodeau says Ska has boosted its 2014 Mexican Logger production by 25%. To celebrate the release of the beer, Ska is holding a release party at Ska Brewing World Headquarters in Durango, Colorado on Wednesday, April 2 from 5-7 PM. The event will include giveaways, Mexican cuisine from The Container Restaurant, and live music from local heroes The Lawn Chair Kings.
