Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Put on your banana suit and dance! It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time! OK, so maybe Family Guy didn't invent this holiday, but you can appreciate it regardless. Spread some over bread, enjoy it with a cracker, or perhaps use them as ingredients in a homebrew. Once you're done celebrating, relax with a nice fresh Colorado craft beer. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014. FERMÆNTRA (Denver) - At long last, the city of Denver has finally approved ALL of FERMÆNTRA's construction plans and now the process of building their brewery can begin. Watch for progress updates in the weeks to come. [1715 E Evans Ave, Denver, CO]

CAUTION: Brewing Co (Denver/Lakewood) - CAUTION: Brewing is helping out the Arc Thrift Store's "Feed Colorado" food drive this month. 2014 Denver International Beer Competition

Great Divide Brewing Co (Denver) - Great news for Great Divide and Rockies fans. Whenever you attend a Colorado Rockies baseball game this year, you will be available to enjoy a Great Divide Titan IPA and/or a Great Divide Denver Pale Ale on tap at Coors Field. Just visit the new Tavern Ballpark on the rooftop in Right Field (top deck). Then be sure to visit the Great Divide taproom while you're in the neighborhood. [2201 Arapahoe St, Denver, CO]

Station 26 Brewing Co (Denver) - Business is good and already they are having to expand their production capacity. They just took delivery of another stainless steel fermenter which will allow them to boost production by 25%. More beer coming soon. [7045 E 38th Ave, Denver, CO]

Black Shirt Brewing Co (Denver) - Expanded hours! Black Shirt Brewing is now open Sundays from 2-6 pm. They will have food trucks (as always) and will also be opening their new beer garden in the coming weeks as well. Details on that in the next week or two! [3719 Walnut St, Denver, CO]

Big Choice Brewing (Broomfield) - Tonight the brewery is tapping their Marzen, a German-inspired malty brew. The tasting room is open today from 3pm to 9pm. [7270 W 118th Pl, Broomfield, CO]

Dad & Dude's Breweria (Centennial) - "Hey Dad, what's on tap?" "Dude, here's the list": Dank IPA, Toffee Porter, Fathom Amber Ale, Ryot Rye Ale, Twist 'N Stout Dry Irish Stout ( on Nitro),and Liquid Resume Pale Ale. Guest brews: Spring Cider Woodchuck, Pinstripe Red SKA, Old Chub ( on Nitro) Oskar Blues, and Runoff Red IPA Odell. [6730 S Cornerstar Way, Suite D, Centennial, CO]

Odyssey Beerwerks (Arvada) - New beer on tap today in their Discovery series: "Double Dry-Hopped Blitzkrieg IPA". It taps at 5pm. Then stick around for some live music from Denny Driscoll at 6pm. Former Future Brewing Co (Denver) - The Craft Brewers Conference is next week, and on Friday April 11, Former Future be tapping Batch One in their series: A Firkin Mashup. Each batch will feature a different FFBC beer and a completely unique bean/roast from Corvus Coffee. This month is "Where Scotland Meets Bolivia" - their Scotch ale and Bolivian Canton Illimani coffee blend. [1290 S Broadway, Denver, CO]

Arvada Beer Co (Arvada) - What's tappening at Arvada Beer this week? Yesterday they tapped some Poolhall Porter. Today they're tapping a Vanilla Porter and a Coffee Porter. And on Thursday, April 3rd they'll tap a Strawberry Golden Ale and their Goldline IPA. Stop in for some fresh beer. [5600 Olde Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO]

Elk Mountain Brewing (Parker) - Every Wednesday they tap anew firkin at 4:00pm. Today's firkin is a Blood Orange Red IPA (or RIPA). It's a limited quantity so get some early. [18921 Plaza Dr, Parker, CO]

River North Brewery (Denver) - The first of their two Wayward Wednesday beers is now on tap: an India Brown Ale. When that keg kicks, they'll switch to a Belgian-style Dubbel. As with every Wednesday, Matt's Snack Shack is bringing the wings.

Boulder County

Twelve Degree Brewing (Louisville) - During the last week or so, Twelve Degree has had some great new beers put up on tap. In case you missed some of these - here they are: Nemesis - a Belgian-style Dubbel, Coalesce - a Brett Saison collaboration beer with Cannonball Creek, Coalesce Framboise - Brett Saison with raspberries, and Cerberus - a golden strong ale aged on tart cherries. CHUBurger (Longmont) - CHUBurger is celebrating their 1st anniversary this Friday, April 4th. And just for the occasion, Oskar Blues brewed up some special beers in their honor that you can get on tap at CHUBurger. Stop in and try the Peach Street Whiskey Barrel Aged Chub and the Chardonnay Barrel Aged Gubna. Fate Brewing Co (Boulder) - Yesterday marked the first day that Fate Brewing offered their Watermelon Kolsch in cans! You can pick up a 16oz 4-pack at Fate now. Just ask your server. [1600 38th St, Boulder, CO]

Northern Colorado

Front Range Rally (Loveland) - Early bird tickets are still on sale for the upcoming May 31st beer & food truck festival in Loveland. This fest is a benefit for the Food Bank for Larimer County and will take place in the back lot at the food bank in Loveland. In this 2nd annual fest, there will be dozens of craft breweries and many of your favorite local food trucks in attendance - not to mention a big stage with live music. City Star Brewing (Berthoud) - Chili beer fans! City Star's Chili The Kid back will be back on tap starting on April 14th! They infuse an American pale ale with Sandia Hot chilis to make this tasty brew. What do they know about Sandia Hots? They are a Hatch, NM heirloom green chile varietal that offers mild heat with a robust green chili flavor. Prepare for it! [321 Mountain Ave, Berthoud, CO]

Zwei Brüder Brewing (Ft. Collins) - Fort Collins' next brewery to open is busy building near the Harmony and Mason Street area. They plan to start brewing beer by the end of this month and open up their taproom sometime in June 2014. They will specialize in German-style beers. [4612 S. Mason Street, Suite 120, Ft. Verboten Brewing (Loveland) - Coming up next Tuesday, April 8th all day long, you can enjoy their popular Angry Banjo Kentucky Common 4 different ways! They'll be tapping their original, an Angry Banjo with cherries, Angry Banjo with Blueberries and Angry Banjo with Raspberries. The Fort Collins Brewery (Ft. Collins) - [PRESS RELEASE] Fort Collins, Colo. -- The Fort Collins Brewery, along with Gravity 1020 Modern Tavern is excited to celebrate the release of their seasonal brew, Hoptitude in conjunction with the Craft Brewers Conference. Releasing Friday, April 4th, Hoptitude an imperial extra pale ale arrives just in time to kick-off the CBC festivities taking place April 7th – 11th. Hoptitude has an aromatic orange rind nose courtesy of a late addition of Pacifica hops from New Zealand, a bready malt backbone, a refreshing hop flavor reminiscent of dry grapefruit and a palate of cleansing finish. Hoptitude is packaged in 4-packs, 1/2 bbls and 1/6 bbls. Stats: 7.5% ABV, 54 IBU, 5 SRM. Wiley Roots Brewing Co (Greeley) - In addition to the Trappist-style Quad being tapped this Saturday, Wiley Roots will also be tapping their "Red Dirt Imperial Red". A big 8.1% ABV red wonder with notes of caramel and earthy with substantial American citrus hop presence. Four small batch beer in all tapping at 6:30pm this Saturday, April 5th. Patrick's Irish Pub (Greeley) - Their Cellar Tasting tickets for Saturday, April 19th from 2pm to 4pm are selling fast so make sure you get yours before they sell out! Plus, they will be raffling off a bottle of Westvleteren XII at this event too!! Southern Front Range

Great Storm Brewing (Colorado Springs) - On tap now, Lightning Wit, their spring/summer seasonal. They also still have some of their 2nd anniversary beers on tap including: Lilliput Pale Ale, and Pollinator saison. During Colorado Springs Craft Week (April 26 - May 4), Great Storm will be participating in several events including a barrel-aged beer and food pairing dinner and a barrel-aged beer and chocolate pairing at Brewer's Republic. They will be tapping more of their Barrel Roll Red that originally debuted around Thanksgiving last year, but now aged even further and is now even better. Bristol Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - Their summer pilsner, Yellow Kite, is back! As always they will kick off the season with their 9th Annual Prohibition Party this Saturday, April 5th from 6pm to 9pm. The party features prohibition style costumes, 33 cent pilsner and a speakeasy style party in the fermentation room. Party-goers must be in costume and present the password at the door to attend. Mountains and West

Roaring Fork Beer Co (Carbondale) - Now on tap - their Freestone XPA. Not only that, you can also bring home some Freestone XPA in cans. 4-pack of tall cans are available in the tasting room. [1941 Dolores Way, Carbondale, CO]
