Colorado Beer NewsToday is Colorado Rockies Home Opener Day. The Lower Downtown (LODO) area of Denver will spring back to life today as the Colorado Rockies start off their home season with an opening game in Denver today. All of the local watering holes will be busy before and after the game. If you are headed to Denver today to cheer on the Rockies, or perhaps just want to watch the game on TV, be sure to enjoy the game with a fresh local Colorado craft beer. Win or Lose, this 22nd season should be another memorable one. Here's what's happening around the Colorado beerosphere today Friday, April 4th, 2014. Wit's End Brewing Co (Denver) - Are you heading to the Craft Brewers Conference or World Beer Cup in Denver next week? If so, stop in at Wit's End. Art & the Art of Craft Brewing at Amber Waves (Denver) - Victory Brewing Company and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery are co-hosting the 2nd annual non-traditional art exhibit, Amber Waves, uniting freshly brewed craft beer with traditional aesthetic art. Featuring 25 American Craft Breweries, attendees will sample brews from across the country including native Colorado craft beers from breweries like Breckenridge and Avery, to the exotic flavors of Hawaii from the Maui Brewery. On Thursday, April 10th fro 5pm to 10pm, join Victory Brewing Company and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery for a fun evening with friends observing art in all its forms - both liquid and solid. Sample unique craft beer, view a variety of artistic pieces for auction, and eat to your hearts content at the gourmet pretzel station. Tickets are $25 and include a souvenir tasting glass, unlimited beer sampling, a wide range of hors d’oeuvres, and access to the Amber Waves silent auction benefitting the RedLine Art Gallery. Coors Field (Denver) - If you're headed to the game, be sure to check out the new Rooftop Deck in upper right field. They've got plenty of craft beer on tap amongst all the new restaurants up top. Anyone with a ticket to the game can go up there and enjoy not only a birds eye view of the game, but also a great view of the city and the mountains. Check out the new CHUBurger restaurant there and enjoy a Dales Pale Ale. Visit the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant with several beers on tap, and also check out the 52 foot 80 inch long bar at The Tavern Ballpark with 32 beer taps. Arvada Beer Co (Arvada) - Didn't get tickets to the Rockies home opener today? No problem, they've got the game on at the brewery. Watch and enjoy $4 pints from open til 7pm (price includes tax). They've got a total of 12 fresh craft beers on tap today. [5600 Olde Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO]

Falling Rock Tap House (Denver) - Here's a quick rundown on events at Falling Rock Tap House during next week's Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) / World Beer Cup. During the week they plan to tap around 30 special beers each night from Colorado, the US, Switzerland, England, Norway, Italy and Belgium. Tuesday, April 8th at 1pm it's an Italian beer spotlight. On Wednesday, April 9th at 5:30pm there will be 30 different Saisons from all over. Thursday, April 10th at 5:30pm it's a Barrel Aged beer night. And on Friday, April 11th at 5:30pm they'll tap 30 different sour beers. Check their website for specific beer names to be posted closer to their tapping date. [1919 Blake St, Denver, CO]

Kokopelli Beer Co (Westminster) - During the CBC next week, Kokopelli is planning some specials. On April 8th, 9th & 10th - get a flight of six 4oz House Craft Beer Tasters for $6 (regularly $12) and get 25% off all appetizers with your CBC ticket. On April 11th & 12th get a flight of Seven 4oz House Craft Beer Tasters for $7 (regularly $14) and 20% off all Hand Tossed Artisan Pizzas with your CBC ticket. Lone Tree Brewing Co (Lone Tree) - Announcing the official release of two of their beer in cans! They have released their LTB Peach Pale Ale and their Mountain Mama Golden Lager in 12oz cans. They debuted them today at Breckenridge Colorado Craft in LoDo today for Colorado Rockies fans to enjoy. You can get them in stores early next week.

The Brew on Broadway (Englewood) - Today is the beer release celebration of their Shadyside Blonde IPA. It taps at 4pm. Plus, you can also try one of their seasonal beers on tap including "The Griffin Ryerish Redheaded Ale". On the nitro tap today is their Tuileries IPA and Social Club Coffee Milk Stout. Boulder County

Oskar Blues Brewery (Longmont) - During the Craft Brewers Conference next week, Oskar Blues will be involved in some activities in downtown Denver. Stop in for an Oskar Blues Happy Hour at the Peaks Lounge at the Hyatt Regency Denver from 4pm to 7:30pm (directly across the street from the Convention Center). They will debut their Old Chub Nitro in cans and also their CBC Collaboration Centennial Pale Ale in a can. Centennial Pale was brewed with all Colorado ingredients with the help of most CO Brewers Guild members. Be sure to pick up a ticket to the Oskar BLues & Friends Present the Infamous Stringdusters at the Ogden Theater later that night from 8pm to 12:30am. At 7:30pm you can catch the O.B. trolley at the Hyatt Regency and ride over to the Ogden. You'll get a free Centennial State Pale Ale beer with your ticket. Governor John Hickenlooper will be there with opening remarks at 9pm.

Twisted Pine Brewing Co (Boulder) - Their Hopularity contest winning beer is now on tap. They teamed up with homebrewers Greg Foley and David Carlberg to brew their recipe of this tropically dank double IPA. At 9.6% ABV, this brew is deceptively crushable and packs a helluva hop wallop! Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - The brewery wants to let everyone know that April is "Get Hazed" Month. They will be having events nationwide all month long. And on 4-20 you can get Hazed at their Pub. Avery Brewing Co (Boulder) - Special tapping today! Khodynka was voted one of your favorite beers at their 12th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Fest! Odd13 Brewing (Lafayette) - Come start your weekend with a pint of your favorite Odd13 super-hero this evening - Sir Joshua, a Cascadian Dark Ale, is back on tap, and they'll have delicious food from The Tasterie food truck there tonight. Northern Colorado

Front Range Rally (Loveland) - This year's Front Range Rally beer and food truck festival is set for Saturday, May 31st at the Food Bank for Larimer County in Loveland, CO from 2:30pm to 7:00pm. And starting the week of April 14th you can start qualifying to win a pair of tickets to this event from Fermentedly Challenged! One pair of tickets to be given away each week for 6 weeks. Wiley Roots Brewing Co (Greeley) - Don't forget, tomorrow, Saturday April 5th at 6:30pm, Wiley Roots will unveil not 1 but 4 new small batch beers! Stop in and try their Red Dirt Imperial Red, Saison Préférée de Marie (7.3% ABV), Strawberry Crush Cream Ale (4.6% ABV), and "It's a!" Belgian Quad (8.3% ABV). Broken Plow Brewery (Greeley) - Now in stock - get a black neoprene growler carrier. This cover is great for your summer hike, picnic, camping trip or a day of fishing. Bristol Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - Fans of Bristol beers will want to stop over at Front Range BBQ tonight from 5-7pm. The first 40 people to order a Bristol beer will get a logo pint glass with that to take home! They'll also be drawing names for larger prizes. Trinity Brewing Co (Colorado Springs) - What's that new metallic thing that they just installed? It's their new 12 barrel custom Koelschip.
