Colorado Beer NewsToday is National Blah Blah Blah Day. This is the dreaded day each year where you need to take care of those things on your long list of household projects and chores that people have been nagging you to do. There's no getting around it - best to just get as many of those things done today as possible. Then you can procrastinate all you want tomorrow. Colorado Craft Beer Show (AM 760 Denver) - The good folks at the Colorado Craft Beer Show are planning to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of their show this Saturday, April 19th with a live radio show broadcast at Lone Tree Brewing Company in Lone Tree from 12pm to 2pm. Comrade Brewing Company (Denver) - Denver is about to get a new brewery this month. Comrade Brewing Company is set to open its doors on Saturday, April 26th. They plan to have several beers on tap including: an American Blonde, an Irish Red, a Milk Stout, an IPA, an International-style Pale Ale, and a collaboration American-style Black Ale that they did with Thai Me Up/Melvin Brewing. River North IPA canRiver North Brewery (Denver) - [PRESS RELEASE] River North Brewery will release its second canned offering, River North IPA, on Saturday April 26th at 1pm in the Denver taproom. In an effort to offer this hoppy beer as fresh as possible, River North’s brewers will keg and can IPA less than 24 hours before the release party. IPA will join River North White in cans, providing Colorado adventure seekers with more options to fuel their outdoor endeavors. As with all their beers, the River North brewers put their own Belgian-style spin on this release, crossing pine and citrus American hops with yeast esters of white pepper and clove. The result is a Belgian-influenced red IPA like no other, coming in at 6% ABV and 55 IBU. River North will have IPA both on tap and in cans-to-go at the release. Strange Brewing Co (Denver) - Today at 3pm the brewery will tap a Super Kriek firkin. This is a big 8% ABV 15 IBU brew and won't last long. This is their World Cup gold medal winner made in the Imperial style. Have one while you watch the Avalanche hockey playoff game on their screen tonight. Game starts at 7:30pm. Kokopelli Beer Co (Westminster) - This Friday at 5pm as a kick-off to their Easter Extravaganza weekend, they will tap "Smokin' Jo", a smoked porter al. Proceeds from this beer will go to the Westminster Burn Fund. Also this weekend, bring the kids for an Easter egg hunt at 10am Saturday. Oskar Blues Grill & Brew (Lyons) - The original home of Oskar Blues in Lyons is celebrating their 17th Anniversary this Saturday, April 19th. They will have two special groups performing: Halden Wofford & The Hi*Beams and also Bonnie & The Clydes. Funkwerks (Ft. Collins) - This Saturday, April 19th, Funkwerks will be releasing White - a malt beverage with spices. The brewer describes it as this: "This Belgian Style Wit is refreshing with ample character. The opaque pale color and voluminous white head results from a high percentage of raw wheat used in the recipe. Aroma is of orange zest and ginger combined with hints of chamomile and coriander. Flavors of lemon and orange citrus are complimented with a pleasant spiciness. The addition of raw oats gives the mouthfeel an interesting creaminess, yet finishes dry with a supple tartness." Paradox Beer Co (Woodland Park) - There's a preview cask tapping tonight at 5pm: "de Coup" Biere de Coupage. Get $5 pints until it's gone. This yet to be released Paradox beer is made by carefully blending a one year old, Puncheon barrel aged, Golden Saison with a much younger and freshly Strisselspalt dry-hopped, Amber Saison; with both fermentations completed using their proprietary blend of house strain Brettanomyces and Farmhouse Ale yeast. Shamrock Brewing Co (Pueblo) - Now on tap! Their "Foot Burner IPA" is now available. This 6.8% ABV brew was made to remind their brewers to pay attention. From now on this beer will be released every year in mid-April on the anniversary of the “foot incident”. This beer will showcase hop aromatics and leave the bitterness behind. It was brewed along with the help of Rockyard Brewing Company of Castle Rock. It's a big 8% ABV malty brew and is also available in 22oz bomber bottles. Individual draws are $5. Stop in for a pint. Crazy Mountain Brewing (Edwards) - While they will be closed for Easter Sunday, starting the next Sunday, April 27th, they will have extended Sunday hours from 12pm to 6pm. That way you don't have to rush over to get there before 4:30pm.
