Black Sky Brewery (Denver) - [PRESS RELEASE] 13-time award-winning sci-fi/fantasy novel The Bane of Yoto, published by FiXT, is setting its sights on beer lovin’ taste buds. Author Joshua Viola has partnered with Denver's Black Sky Brewery to create The Ale of Yoto, a blueberry wheat beer crafted by master brewer Harry Smith. “The concept of creating a beer seemed like a natural fit amidst the crazy things we were doing in the world of Yoto. The idea originally came to me when a friend -- Groovey of Groovey.TV -- had a custom brew developed for his online personality. It was received well and I knew then, after a fan suggested a Yoto beer, I had to do it. Groovey introduced me to the wonderful people at Black Sky Brewery and the rest is history. Their talented brew master, Harry Smith, concocted the most amazing beer I'd ever tasted. Harry came up with the blueberry wheat idea after reading the book; paying tribute the protagonist's blue skin tone.” - Josh Viola. A release party for the The Ale of Yoto will be part of the American Craft Beer Week celebration in Denver which showcases only the finest efforts from master brewers. The Ale of Yoto has a smooth finish with just the right hint of blueberry and is perfect for the upcoming Summer season as well as for enjoying the blockbuster novel it was inspired from. Chain Reaction Brewing (Denver) - [PRESS RELEASE] Chain Reaction Brewing Company is a new nanobrewery coming to the southern end of Denver located at 902 S. Lipan St which is just west of the intersection of Santa Fe and Mississippi. Chain Reaction Brewing Company hopes to be open by mid-June and will feature a unique line up of their hand crafted beers by offering 6 flagship brews, 4 quarterly seasonals, 2 unique 10 gallon test batches and room to feature up to 6 extremely small batch 5 gallon batches which will include collaborations, wild ideas, and innovation. Chain Reaction Brewing Company will brew on a custom built 1 barrel HERMS style system filling 6 2-barrel fermenters and 4 1-barrel fermenters along with using a small pilot system accompanied by smaller fermenters to house the small batch brews. Below you will find a briefing that details the story behind how the brewery came to be along with a flagship beer list and a list of the first seasonals that will be available upon opening. After years of home brewing and countless positive comments from friends, family and local brewing industry professionals cousins Zack and Chad Christofferson came together with the idea that this could be the calling in life that both had been searching for. As this idea formed between the two the weekly meetings began and the frequency of brewing went through the roof to insure every recipe that would be served in the future was tweaked to taste bud tingling perfection. Progressing through the many meetings and brew days Zack and Chad were able to settle on wanting to have a “nanobrewery” of the 1 barrel scale. While this size of system in one way meant more work would be required to keep up with demand it also meant that they would have a great deal of freedom to do small batches and try out many different style and ideas of beer. The hard work and pure dedication to craft beer is what eventually lead the duo to choosing the name Chain Reaction Brewing Company. Once that name crossed into their minds it was an automatic switch that went off that a Chain Reaction is exactly what this whole journey was. Both Chad and Zack came from a hard working family that was deeply devoted to its craftsmanship and producing quality handmade products. While the family crafts varied from family member to family member it didn't matter if it was cooking, woodwork, metalwork, auto mechanics or agriculture Chad and Zack loved everything about any skilled craft industry. This love of the trades they were born into is what created the Chain Reaction leading them to venture into their own craft industry, the crafting awesome beer industry. The motto around Chain Reaction Brewing Company is one that Zack and Chad apply to not only brewing beer but also living life, that motto is “for every action there is a reaction” and “for every reaction there is a reaction”.
