Colorado's 2014 World Beer Cup Winners

2014 World Beer Cup ResultsThe World Beer Cup is one of the biggest international beer competitions in the world and is held every 2 years on even numbered years. This year, the judging took place here in Denver, Colorado in April 2014. The World Beer Cup event coincided with this year's Craft Brewers Conference held at the Colorado Convention Center. Last night, the Winners List for the 2014 World Beer Cup was revealed and several Colorado breweries were recognized as having some of the best beer on the entire planet.

This year, there were 94 beer style categories that awarded 3 medals per category (282 in all). The most popular category was American-Style India Pale Ale with 224 entries. The 2nd most popular category had just 112 entries for American-Style Pale Ale. The lowest number of entries in a category as 14 with Aged Beers and also Auzzie, Latin American & Tropical Light Lagers.

Overall, Colorado-based breweries won 24 medals (10 Gold, 5 Silver, 9 Bronze) and also had 1 award for best Large Brewing Company.
