This writing style was named the Irish city of Limerick. Lear's original work "A Book of Nonsense" had verses penned in the distinctive metre and AABBA rhyming scheme and became quite popular for their childish or filthy imaginative tone. Find your favorite limerick today and tell it to a friend, or better yet, invent your own and give an ode to your favorite craft beer. "There once was a brewer from Boulder...".
