Colorado Beer NewsToday is Love a Tree Day. Yes, it's the original tree hugger holiday where people should remember to take care of the existing trees in their community and protect them. Some go as far as hugging their trees, but we'll leave that decision up to you. Celebrate trees and nature today and take some time today to maintain the trees around your neighborhood. What Would The Monks Brew? (Denver) - You are invited to attend a special Beer Tasting and Movie Screening event at Regis University (North Denver Lowell Campus) on Wednesday, May 28th at 6:30pm in the Mountain View Room of Claver Hall. Join in for a free beer tasting with a variety of local brewers, and a movie screening with the producers of "Crafting a Nation", a documentary about the American craft brewing industry. Come learn about Regis University's Applied Craft Brewing Certificate program. There will also be food and non-alcoholic beverages provided. An RSVP is Required to attend as space is limited. Location: Exit I-70 at Federal Boulevard, and proceed north to Regis Boulevard (about 2 blocks). Turn left (west) onto Regis Boulevard (50th Avenue).

Diebolt Brewing Co (Denver) - Good news! Their Mariposa Pale Ale is now back on tap and ready for some summertime drinking. This is a very quaffable 5.5% ABV brew. Enjoy one and pair it with food from the Ckrepe Cart tonight. [3855 Mariposa St, Denver, CO]

Coda Brewing Co (Aurora) - NEW BEER! Tapping today at noon: Coda IPA, 7.5%. In two words - Dank Grapefruit. Help them find a name for this IPA. They paired it with Misty Mountain Hop so a Led Zeppelin nod is preferred.

Strange Craft Beer Co (Denver) - The brewery is kicking off the weekend with a limited release tapping today of Hop Candy, an oak-aged Imperial IPA. Stay to listen to live music from Indigent Row (Celtic rock) at 6pm. Also, just released - 2013 Dr. StrangeLove Barleywine in bomber bottles. Copper Kettle Brewing Co (Denver) - The Lauzon is back on tap. It's a Biere de Garde aged in Tokaji Hungarian spiced barrels. Also chow down on tasty food from The Wing Wagon Grill starting at 4pm. [1338 S Valentia St #100, Denver, CO]

Wit's End Brewing Co (Denver) - Just in time for your Friday afternoon, Wit's End has just tapped their Messenger Porter. This was the beer they originally made for the 1 year anniversary of their friends at The Denver Bicycle Cafe.

Boulder County

Boulder Beer Co (Boulder) - Join in tonight for their Hoopla Pale Ale Tapping Party from 4pm to 7pm. They'll have games and prizes including some memorabilia signed by musician Kyle Hollingsworth. Also - Save the date for Saturday, June 14th from 12 noon to 9pm. That's the date for Boulder Beer's 35th Anniversary Celebration! They'll have rare beer tastings and live music throughout the day. Come celebrate Colorado's oldest craft brewery's big 35th. Be sure to check out their Hoopla Pale Ale, a beer brewed along with Kyle Hollingsworth and available on tap and also in cans from their brand new canning line. The Post Brewing Co (Lafayette) - Its the first Lafayette Art Walk today! Come celebrate with the brewery staff. The event is shutting down the streets, so The Post is a perfect place to pre-game then walk a block to the festival. Stop in for lunch or dinner today. [105 W Emma St, Lafayette, CO]

Upslope Get Down (Boulder, CO) - Spring is upon us and so is festival season, so Upslope Brewing thought they'd do a lil celebrating by throwing their own music festival right there at their Flatiron Park brewery! Join in for The Upslope Get Down, a FREE music fest with beer and food on Saturday, May 17 from 2pm - Midnight. They're taking over the back parking lot of their Flatiron Park brewery to bring you eight bands on two stages for continuous music all day long + Upslope brews and food by local food trucks. Fate Brewing Co (Boulder) - Just tapped today - Wild Honey Wheat aged in oak barrels with 100% Brettanomyces fermentation. This is a very limited batch so get one soon if you love wild ale. [1600 38th St, Boulder, Co]

The Old Mine (Erie) - Betcha never had this before. Try their new Bourbon Barrel Fermented Chocolate Imperial Handlebar Hard Cider. It's uniquely good and now on tap, but just 5 gallons of it exist. Part of their Small Batch Series (10.5% ABV). [500 Briggs St, Erie, CO]

Northern Colorado

Boars & Brews Pig Roast (Loveland) - This Saturday, May 17th from 5pm to 7pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall (1730 12th St, Loveland, CO) they will host the 1st annual Boars & Brews Pig Roast. The cost for food & drink will be $15 for adults, and $5 for kids 12 and under. This event will feature craft brews from local Loveland breweries including Loveland Aleworks. Proceeds will be directed towards the Special Olympics, local scouting program & K-8 scholarship aid to Saint John's. Advanced tickets from any Knight of Columbus or at the door.

Front Range Rally Beer Fest (Loveland) - Just two more weeks until the 2nd annual Front Range Rally beer fest in Loveland, CO. There will be 40 craft breweries pouring more than 100 unique craft beers, 10 food trucks, 2 live bands and even a special VIP tent this year. Tickets are available now, even Designated Driver tix.
